Jack sat down, glancing up periodically at Reed.
Reed tried to stem the blood flow from his nose.

Firiko sighed and tossed Reed a cloth. "Tilt your head up before you stain your clothes" he said carefully, trying not to cause any more trouble between him and Jack.

Reed smiled at him thankfully, doing as told. Jack didn’t look up, but sighed.

"You ok mate?" asked Firiko, turning to face Will.

“Yeah.”
(I assume he was talking to Jack?)

(Yeah… stupid typo..)
"You sure?" asked Firiko quietly.

“I’ll kill you right now.” Jack said, although he said it sadly, like he wasn’t totally sure he could do anything.

"Oh scary" said Firiko sarcastically. "But on another more serious note, we do need to make it to Alkalaria's capital"

“You won’t win.” Jack said.
Reed waved a hand, and Jack glared st him angrily, opening his mouth to speak, but nothing came out. While Jack clawed at his throat, trying to figure out where the words went, Reed said, “Then we should go.”

Firiko nodded, picking up his pack, "What's up with him?" he gestured to Jack

“Silencing spell.” Reed said.

"What? Why?" asked Firiko half stunned.

“He’ll wind himself up if he keeps talking.” Reed said. As he spoke, Jack stopped moving, instead taking some deep breaths and looking up at Reed. Reed waved his hand again, and Jack said, “Thanks.”

"All I'm gonna say is that you two are a pair of weirdos." he said with a sigh, "Now I do believe we should get going before we lose out lead on those men."

“Agreed.” Reed said, jumping up.

Firiko nodded, shifting and leading them off into woods.

While walking next to each other, Reed out of instinct grabbed Jack’s hand. Jack was surprised, but didn’t take it away.

Firiko didn't even notice the action as he led them through the forest in silence.

“How much longer, man?” Jack asked.

"Days" said Firiko, "Possibly weeks before we reach the capital."

“Wonderful.” Jack said, rolling his eyes.

"Hey" said Firiko, "Me and Reed have already been traveling for weeks,"

“Yeah, but this ain’t my quest.”

"It is now!" Said Firiko.

“Yeah….. you can’t really back out now.” Reed said. Jack sighed.

"Anyway" said Firiko. "What I'd like to know right now is what thise jerks that tried to kill reed are actually after"

“No one knows. Not even the followers.” Jack said.

"Do you happen to know anything?" Asked Firiko.

“All I know is that he’s real evil, and real powerhungry. And that my sister is leading a rebel group against him.”

"And you aren't helping her because?"
