"And I'm sure they miss you too but they all have things to do, sugar."

"Which is why if we reschedule… then… they can show up. Don't you think they should see you. How many of them even know you're pregnant?"

"A few of them do!" She defended. Her stomach was still twisted up in knots.

"You confuse me. Do you not want to see them?"

"No, that's not it. It's just…nevermind. It's whatever." She didn't want to argue about how, even though it was a crowd of people she knew and enjoyed hanging out with, it was still a crowd and that made her really uncomfortable.

"Well then forget that then, we'll only have a few people and chances are, Darren and Lillian won't even be there so… With only a few people we could do it today and I'll make dinner. I've been meaning to have Eliza and Colton over and if you're okay with Cooper then he can join too. That's 3 people, is that fine?"

Three people. She could handle that. "Yeah, that's fine." She felt kind of bad for forcing him to downsize when he seemed so excited about it though.

"Tonight for dinner or some tome tomorrow?"

"Doesn't matter to me." She shrugged.

“Then why don’t we do it for tonight? I’ll make Alfredo or something easy,” he walked over to her and pulled her into his arms.

"Sound lovely." She smiled a little. "I love you."

“I love you too,” he placed a gentle kiss on her nose.

"So…should we get to texting people?"

Cooper sighed gently but otherwise said nothing.

"I'm sorry," Fleur whispered. "She's protective."

“It’s fine.” Coop whispered back.

After a moment, Fleur's mother went back into the house but kept the door open. Fleur blushed and motioned for him to follow her inside.

Cooper chuckled to himself as he followed in.

The interior resembled that of a castle. The high ceilings sloped to elegant walls and a polished wooden floor. "I-I'll only be a minute," she whispered. "Or would you like to come with me?"

“Yeah. We should,” he touched their lips together softly before wandering to the couch with his phone.

Cooper sighed gently but otherwise said nothing.

"I'm sorry," Fleur whispered. "She's protective."

“It’s fine.” Coop whispered back.

After a moment, Fleur's mother went back into the house but kept the door open. Fleur blushed and motioned for him to follow her inside.

Ryan’s phone was in his hands on his home screen but his eyes drifted up to the wall and away from what he was doing.

She ran her fingers through her hair slowly, just a small fidget habit. The silence filling the room soaked into her.

“What was I doing?” He said to himself before remembering and texting his sister and Coop.

"Ughhhh, I wish I had my piano." She laid back, going through sheet music in her head.

“There’s literally a Grand piano in my music room. Go have fun,” Ryan sighed, how does one forget about an entire room devoted to music?

Lillian smiled and sat down next to him.

He let out a long sigh, "We should get to bed,"

Lillian sighed, "Probably."

(Also really? Not inviting us to the party guys?)

She smiled a little. "Actually, I have a couple pieces I've been practicing but they have guitar accompaniment. Would you be willing to help?"

“What a coincidence, I actually know this guy who loves to play the guitar.” Ryan hopped up with a grin.
