Chuckling under his breath, he also downed the shot. Griff blinked a few times as his vision began to get a little fuzzy, the last few drinks had finally caught up to him it seems. He was a little shocked when Lukas pointed out the fake ID "I'm impressed, not a lot of people can tell." Griff laughed lightly as he leaned toward Lukas "I'm only twenty." He whispered, then he sat back in his stool and continued to talk in a normal tone, "Markus… it sounds familiar. To be honest, my coach got it for me. So it's origins are unknown." Instead of downing his other drinks, he only took a decent sip. Setting it back down he looked to Lukas. "What about you?" Griff smirked, figuring he couldnt be much older than himself.
Lukas nodded, "It's Markus'" he said, "He always likes to make his a little shiner than normal," the man explained, taking a long drink from a beer he'd ordered, "Nineteen," he said, "And I haven't been carded since I was sixteen," Lukas laughed and took another drink
"That must have been nice. At that age I relied on parties for all the fun stuff. Speaking of…" Griff reached for a hidden pocket on the inside of his leather jacket he was wearing and pulled out what looked to be a metal pen of sorts. "Care to join me outside?" He raised his brows questioningly
Lukas smiled, "Sure," he said, standing and almost falling immediately. He chuckled and balanced using the edge of the counter, "If I can make it," he laughed and finally got himself standing and began to make his way outside
Griff quickly put the pen away and paid for the tab. Laughing at Lukas' struggle Griff also moved to stand, but suddenly all the alcohol seemed to hit him at once. Wobbling, his foot managed to catch the leg of his bar stool and in a less than graceful manner, Griff fell to the floor.
Lukas let out a bellowing laugh, leaning on the wall for support, "Fuckin graceful, man. Let me tell you!" he roared before stumbling forward and helping him to his feet, "Come on, granny. Let's get you outside!" he laughed again
Also laughing hysterically, Griff willingly held out his hand for assistance "Well thank you sonny. Guess the booze got me all fucked up." Griff said in his best old lady voice, which didnt last long since he busted out laughing once again. Although, Griff couldnt deny the fuzzy feeling that went through him once he grabbed Lukas' hand…must be from the alcohol. Finally struggling to his feet, Griff dusted himself off and headed for the door. "C'mon Dorothy, lets go to the Emerald City." A goofy smile spread across his face.
"As long as toto comes with!" Lukas roared, reaching into Griff's pocket and grabbing the pen, stumbling outside, laughing
"Woof woof" joked Griff. Pausing once he was outside, he looked around to find a clear spot. noticing an alley that ran alongside the bar, he motioned for Lukas to follow. "Cant do that out in the open, cops usually drive near bars all the time. And thats my favorite pen, i sure as hell dont want to lose it."
Conner followed him to the alley, uncapping the pen and taking a long drag before handing it back, allowing the smoke to billow from his face
Following his lead, Griff also took a long hit, letting it sit in his lungs before breathing out slowly as he leaned against the wall. "So tell me," Griff passed the pen back to Lukas "What had you threatening to drink yourself to death?"
Lukas took a long drag as well, thinking for a moment before letting it out, handing the pen back over, "Just fucked up" he admitted, "Got mysef addicted to some dangerous shit and now I can't do anything with my life," he shrugged, "Might as well go out doing the only think I know how to,"
Griff paused, letting Lukas' words sink in. Looking to the ground, he took another long hit and held it in, "It's rough. dealing with addiction…" Griff finally breathed out, "…especially when you surround yourself with enablers. I'm in the same boat as you…" he passed the pen back to Lukas "I've found that its easier to manage if you find something to help you sweat it out. If you'd like, you can borrow my punching bag." Griff reached into his pants pocket and pulled out his phone, handing it over to Lukas "Also, if it ever gets rough, hit me up." Griff smiled warmly "I aint gonna let anyone suffer alone, stranger or not."
Lukas put the pen in his mouth, taking a drag and holding it in as he gently took Griff's phone and put in his number, handing it and the pen back over. He let out his breath, "I might take you up on that," he said in response to the punching bag, "I've been meaning to get one, but I can barely pay my rent, let alone get a punching bag."
Grabbing his phone and the pen, Griff took a smaller drag this time. "Well, you are free to stop over any time and use it. My sister also has a weight room. As long as you clean up behind yourself, im sure she'd let you use that too." Griffs eyes shifted toward the street as he quickly placed the pen into his jacket pocket. A few seconds passed before a cop car rolled past the bar. Once it passed, Griff took out the pen again and held it out for Lukas.
Lukas accepted it, nodding, "Thanks, man," he said, taking a smaller drag, "What can I get you in return? I just realised. You paid for my tab and now you're offering me this. I'd be a shitface if I didn't pay you back somehow,"
Griff laughed out loud and shook his head "Dont worry about it. Just dont hesitate to let me know if you need help in any way." He could feel his legs wobble as they threatened t give out. So instead of falling like an idiot, again, he decided to sit on the ground. Laughing under his breath, remembered a question he was going to ask. Taking one last puff, Griff looked up at Lukas, "So, ive never known a guy to casually take something out of another guys pocket." Griffs right brow raised
Lukas slid down as well, stretching out, "I'm a forward guy" he said with a shrug, smirking, "What can I say?" He casually and jokingly flirted with his friends all the time, he knew how to play the game
"Well, be careful who you do that to. Not every guy is as laid back as myself." Griff leaned his head against the wall and closed his eyes, taking in the coolness of the air. "Some may even think youre reaching for something else haha!"
Lukas laughed as well, "Maybe I was" he joked, closing his eyes, relaxed
Griff raised a brow and Lukas' remark. He opened his mouth to question further, but decided against it. Instead, he lifted his hand and lightly rubbed at the scar on his lips, which he frequently would do when lost in thought. Doubting that is new friends swung that way, he only smiled to himself and decided to play it off, "I only keep my wallet in my back pockets. But hey, do you come here every night or what?"
Lukas nodded, "Only thing I got to do" hr said, "Aint got nothing better to do"
Griff heard his zoo crew exit the building, standing up, he offered his hand to Luke "Well, how about i meet you here tomorrow night? i might be a little late, but i'll be here." Griff smiled brightly, "Unless you wanna do something else"
Lukas nodded, "We'll meet here. But who knows where the night will take is" he said, standing and stumbling, almost falling
Even though he was sluggish thanks to the alcohol, Griffs reflexes kicked in. He caught Lukas before he could fall, "Woah. Milashka, you gonna be okay?" getting more concerned about his friend, Griff managed to pull out his wallet and pull out some cash "Here," he handed him fifty dollars "This is to make sure you get home safely…"
Lukas grunted, looking at him, "I cant accept this," he shoved it back, "Ill make it" he stumbled away, reliing on the wall before suddenly doubling over and puking
Griff winced in sympathy before walking up behind him and placing a hand on Lukas' back. "You are in no condition to be on your own." Griff began rubbing his back in a soothing manner. "Crash at my place. That way someone can keep an eye on you." Concern filled griffs vibrant blue eyes.
Lukas looked up at him, wiping his mouth. He opened his mouth to refuse, then sighed, "Alright" he grunted, stumbling to a standing position, "Sure, why not"
"Good! Stay put. Ill go let my other friends know and make a call for a ride." Griff walked away and out of the alley. But before he could turn the corner he stopped. It was obvious he was talking to his other friends, but his smile didnt seem to reach his eyes. Waving his hand, the smile dropped as soon as the others were gone. He then rounded the corner to make the call.
Lukas raised an eyebrow, "I'm not causing you trouble, am I?" He croaked quietly, noticing the small things
