Lukas scratched the back of his head, "Ah, no. Its fine" he said quickly, "I don't need to go there yet" he took a small drag of the pen before handing it back
Lukas scratched the back of his head, "Ah, no. Its fine" he said quickly, "I don't need to go there yet" he took a small drag of the pen before handing it back
Griff raised a brow at Lukas' quick response, "You sure? Dont need to change into clean clothes?" He also took a small hit of the pen before stuffing it back into his pocket.
Lukas shook his head, "I'll be fine for now" he insisted, shoving his hands into his pocket and looking away, trying to hide his embarassment
His head tilted to the side inquisitively, Griff studied Lukas' mannerisms. He could tell something was off, but didnt know what. Deciding to not pursue it any further, Griff shrugged his shoulders "Okay, if you change your mind though, let me know, we can always swing over there." digging in one of his front jacket pockets, he pulled out his wallet, "I almost forgot…" Griff dug through his wallet and pulled out four fifty dollar bills "here! for the stuff your surrendered last night." A big smile was plastered on his face as he held them out to Lukas..
Lukas shook his head, "Like I said, you repaid me enough just by taking me in" he insisted with a smile, "Keep it"
"Nope." Griff then reached forwards and slipped the money into one of Lukas' pants pockets. "Told you, im stubborn" Griff smirked in a slightly cocky way befoer turning on his heels and walking down the hallways that lead to the workout room, but he stopped in front of a different door instead. "Comin?"
Lukas chuckled and shook his head, "Alright, I'm coming." He followed Griff, shoving his hands into his jacket pockets
Griff opened the door leading into a modest two stall garage, on one side was Alistrovs red charger that she drove last night, but the vehicle on the other side was covered, making it hard to tell what kind of car it was. Griff walked to the nose and grabbed a hold on the tarp, "All i ask is that you dont scratch it, this car means a lot to me." Griff began to pull the tarp away from the vehicle, revealing shiny chrome and equally shiny black paint belonging to a 1967 Chevy Impala. The interior was a cherry red with leather seats, and while most of the dash was antique looking, there were a few upgrades. the radio was digital, and there were very small USB ports under it. Lightly tracing his hand over the car, Griff smiled as he got in, unlocking the other door for Lukas.
Lukas' eyes widened as he saw the car, "Hot damn" he breathed, tracing the hood lightly with a finger, he must be fucking loaded Lukas thought, getting in gingerly, not wanting to mess anything up, "Dude, how did you…" he was just in awe
Griff pursed his lips, "It…" Griff sighed as he turned on the car and opened the garage door, "…it was my dads." Placing a hand behind Lukas' headreast, Griff turned to look behind him as he backed out of the garage. once the vehicles nose left the doorway, Griff closed the door. He continued to back up to the gate, which opened automatically, and out into the road. once in his lane, Griff threw the car in drive and took off, the engine purring loudly as he sped down the road.
Lukas grinned. The car ran so smoothly. He looked out the window, admiring the view. The pen had relaxed him, shoving reality out of his mind, if only for a bit
"So, what kind of music do you listen to?" Griff asked as he continued to drive "You are more than welcome to flip through the stations if you want, I'll listen to just about anything."
Lukas pursed his lips, flicking through the stations for a bit until he found one he liked. Currently, Friction by Imagine Dragons was playing. The man ran a hand through his hair, bobbing his head to the unique beat
"Nice choice. Imagine Dragons are one of my favorites" Griff turned up the volume and rolled down his window. Turning onto the highway, he sped up rather quickly, the engine roared as Griff went well above the speed limit. A content smile appeared on his lips as he began quietly humming along to the song. "Hey. I don't know about you, but i need some energy. Wanna go grab some coffee? Theres this great mom and pop coffee shop that i know."
Lukas smiled, "Sure." He said, "Coffee sounds awesome" the chorus came on and Lukas began to sing along quietly, not wanting to be annoying. He loved to sing, and was really damn good at it, but he couldn't get anywhere with it because of all the addictions
Griff smiled as he faintly heard Lukas. As he listened, his fingers on his left hand began tapping along on the steering wheel. He imagined playing this song on his violin, and with that he began moving slightly in his seat as if he were playing. Even though he kept an eye on the road, he would glance at Lukas from the corner of his eye, and every time he did, the smile grew. Something about Lukas put Griff at ease, but he decided to not question it further. Instead, he simply enjoyed the atmosphere as he drove.
Lukas didn't notice, but his voice steadily grew louder as he sang, looking out the window as the scenery changed to cityscape
Once they entered the city, Griff moved to take the exit. City driving always made him angry, and he hated doing it. Griff cursed quietly under his breath realizing that he should have had Eddy drive them, but it was too late now. After some additional minutes of driving, Griff pulled into the parking lot of a small, simple coffee shop. "Here we are. I hope you like this place. its one of my favorites" Griff excitedly got out of the car and closed his door.
Lukas got out as well, closing the door gently. He smiled and walked in, inhaling the wonderful smell of the roasted beans
As they entered, a small middle aged woman with dark hair came out from a back room, she instantly smiled when she saw Griff. "Oh honey there you are!" She ran out from behind the counter to trap Griff in a bear-hug "It's been a while, i was worried something happened to you!" She finally released him.
"Privet Lisa! sorry about that, I've been busy with work." The smile that was on Griffs face was warm and friendly. He stepped to the side to show her that he had company along, "I have a friend with me. Lisa, this is Lukas."
Lisa walked over to Lukas and also trapped him into a bear-hug, "Pleased to meet you Lukas, and welcome to our shop!" She released him and turned to shout to the door she came from "Mon cher! Julian! Get your cute butt out here!" She looked back to Lukas "Order whatever you'd like cher, it's on the house today." She winked at him before going back behind the counter.
Lukas grinned, "Thank you, ma'am" he said, dipping his head. He looked over at Griff "I can see why you like this place" he commented with a laugh
Griff laughed as well, "I also love their coffee. But Lisa gave me a job here when i was young. She's like a mom to anyone that walks through those doors. So congrats, you're part of the family now." Walking up to the counter, he pulled out his wallet once again, this time, he quickly placed quite a few twenties in the tip jar before Lisa could catch him. "Order whatever you'd like. She knows my order by heart."
Lukas nodded, "Just a large black coffee. Thank you" he dipped his head to the woman, smiling at Griff's actions
As she turned away to make their coffee, a massive, bear of a man came out from the back. His big black bushy beard and black hair were a stark contrast from his fair skin. The floor seemed to rumble as he slowly walked over toward where Griff and Lucas stood, and once he was standing next to Lukas, he seemed to almost growl at him. "What the hell do you think you're doing here…" A thick southern drawl came from his deep voice.
Lukas looked over, blinking at the monster of a man, "I'm sorry do I know you?" He asked, nonchalantly putting his hand on his pocket where his 9mm rested against his thigh
