"Yeet." Lane said from his small pile of candy wrappers as he slipped on his bulky headphones and began to type away on his laptop. "And…. Boom."

"Great." Casey checked her watch. "It's time." She slid open the door of the van and let Cam and Luca out. "See you on the other side," Casey said to Lane, before sliding the door closed. Casey looked around at her surroundings, attentive. "Testing, testing," she said, looking at Cameron as though she was talking to him. "How are we doing, Lane?"

"Pretty damn good, see Shady Dealers can be helpful!" He said, sounding as if he had tried to prove this point over and over again. "'Specially when they give me taffy."

@Moxie group

What time is it for you?///

(It's 7:15 for me)

Same))

(Oh cool! I feel like no one here is in the same time zone as me, so hi!)

@Moxie group

"Pretty damn good, see Shady Dealers can be helpful!" He said, sounding as if he had tried to prove this point over and over again. "'Specially when they give me taffy."

"Lane Stone, did you take candy from some shady tech-dealer?" Casey asked, sighing. "Did you forget what happened with that weapons dealer in Cancún?"

Cameron set a hand on his cheek and sighed softly. Lane would pick up a piece of candy off of the side of the road that was unwrapped and pissed on.

"That was once! I now know better than to accept off-brand M&M's." He said with a pout and a defensive tone. "Once~"

@Moxie group

"Alright, well don't come crying to me if something happens to you because of that taffy," Casey's voice was cold but anyone who really knew her knew she rushed Lane to the nearest doctor in an instant. She looked down at her watch again. "It's showtime, let's head in."

Luca was snickering as she followed Casey, she was supposed to be keeping a straight face for the job, but Lane's antics always had a way of breaking through any tension to make her laugh. Seeing a cut look from the corner of Casey's eye, she quit and got a hold on herself.
Stretching discreetly, she settled into her seductress role with a confident smile. It was almost a literal switch, going from a casual young adult, to a walking sex bomb. She was ready.

Cameron shifted the van into park and took the keys from ignition. He sighed deeply, rubbing his face. He grabbed out his gun and knives, tucking them away into their proper places on his broad shoulders and legs before getting out of the car. He tucked his cloak and hood away, just showing the plain black underdress. He bobbed after the group, his weaponry shining dangerously in the watery sunlight. His face was set and unreadable.

@Moxie group

Casey walked towards the building and down a side alley, towards a door. It seemed that every time her feet hit the pavement was filled with purpose. She reached the door and held her hand out towards Cameron. "The keys, if you will, Cameron."

Cameron swiftly tucked the keyring out of a side pocket and handed it to Casey the moment Casey stuck out her hand. He didn’t say anything, just gazed at her, his jaw set.

@Moxie group

"Thank you." Casey chose a key and used it to unlock the door. She handed the ring back to Cameron and walked in. Inside was a large, spacious room with concrete floors, walls, and ceilings. There were concrete posts scattered around the room that connected to the ceiling. Along the ceiling were beams and poles. The only light came from three windows on the other side of the room. It was hard to tell if they were dirty or frosted. Farther up and to the right was a large doorway. Instead of doors, it had a thick plastic curtain that was impossible to see through. In the middle of the room sat two metal chairs. The one facing them had armrests, the other did not. Casey walked over to the chair with the armrests and sat down, crossing one leg over the other. She checked her watch. "Warner should be here any moment now."

Luca took up position on Casey's left, her usual spot, and stood as still as stone. Her eyes were trained on the far door. She hoped Cam had remembered to pack an extra gun for her in case things went south or if this was a set up. She had forgotten to ask him after all their…arguing. Rookie mistake, she chastised herself. She wasn't weaponless, the slim knives that Sol had gifted to her years ago were strapped all over her body, delicate enough not to be noticed around all her assets.

Cameron turned neatly behind the chair, like a little toy solider or a marching band student. He snapped his arms to his back and straightened out his shoulders, shaking out his hair and falling still promptly after. Silence and stillness befell the area.

(Warner's point of view)
Micheal Warner stopped outside of a large garage door outside of a warehouse. A large man he had hired was standing behind him. He was looking up at the door, unsure of how to get in, when the door started to open with a loud rumble, startling him. He smoothed back his short, black hair, in an effort to look composed. He blinked at the darkness of the warehouse as he walked in, his bodyguard trailing behind. In a chair sat Cortel, one of her black boots resting on her knee. She paid him no mind, inspecting her clean fingernails. She looked . . . younger than he thought she would be. Younger than she sounded. Doubts about her ability to finish the job flooded his mind. "Ah, Mr. Warner," she said, once again startling him, not looking up from her nails. She looked up. "Please, have a seat. It's a pleasure to meet you, I've heard nothing but terrible things.

Warner walked over to the chair and sat down. "I could say the same for you, Cortel."

Cortel smiled, something devilish and terrible in her eyes. "Yes I suppose you could," she said. "But enough with the pleasantries, I'm sure you're a busy man. Tell me more about the job."

(I'm gonna post more in just a sec, I just kinda wanted to break this part up so it wasn't a huge paragraph)

(Back to Casey's POV)
"The substance is called Proelium. It is an instant trigger to new nuclear weaponry and can be served as an uncontainable airborne disease that is deadly. This is only when mixed with a variety of chemicals and animal fat, however. Luckily our enemies have not yet figured out the chemical mixture needed to activate the disease, or where our nuclear weapons are being stored. But they are close. Very close." Casey stared intensely at Warner, listening to everything he said.

"Alright. And who exactly are our enemies?" she asked, watching him practically squirm under her gaze.

"A small terrorist organization that has proved to be much more . . . worrisome than we had hoped." Casey fought the urge to roll her eyes. "They are hiding Proelium in a base in Russia, near the borders of Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and China. They are holding a party there in three days, complete with auction and execution."

"And what are they called?" Casey asked, annoyed she would have to ask such vital information.

"Oh, of course, the Nebtali. They come from many places, mainly Europe and Asia."

(I might post the rest of this exchange today? I have to go to lunch and I have a math test right after, then a ton of homework. I'll definitely post stuff late tonight tho. Sorry guys)

You're fine, I'm sick rn so who knows when I'll be responding.//

Cameron was absolutely bursting with questions. But he kept his gaze carefully held into neutrality as he stared down the other bodyguard that Warner had hired.

They were absolutely pathetic. Everything, every little twitch they made to the bat of a single eyelash made Cameron want to bound over and strangle the man to bits. The “bodyguard” was big and broad, but it was definitely not worked for. Cameron could smell the steroids that they had used. And the fucking bodyguard didn’t even notice Cameron staring daggers into his soul.

What kind of moron would hire such a man?

Luca was practically humming with energy. Her eyes bright with revulsion. Russians. The Nebtali even. Like the crime family she had once worked for as a child. She should have smelled their stink from a mile away. She couldn't believe that the thought hadn't occurred to her to think they might be the ones behind this.

A million thoughts were zooming through her mind, but nothing showed on her pretty face. Instead she was watching Warner, slowly disarming him with every glance he shot at her. He hadn't lied to Casey, not yet at least, but it was really a shame that this man was the government contact. He had a quite a number of tells. Another glance her way, so she tilted her head, catching the light from one of the windows in her stormy eyes and rewarded him with a smile. She watched as his Adams apple bobbed as he swallowed. Too easy.

@Euric_Knight

Sol watched the conversation in a hidden position behind Warner, ready to come out the instant Casey gave a signal, but for the time being she kept a gun pointed at the back of the man's head. The bodyguard Warner chose to keep beside him was a large brute, but seemed to be mostly for show to scare people, so he seemed easy enough for her to take down if needed. Intimidation of course wouldn't work on Casey. Sol smirked. She could feel her friends's eyes burning holes into the client in front of her.

Cameron twitched as he saw movement from his side. Of course. His fists pulled even tighter and he felt a sick feeling in his stomach. Did Casey really have to choose Luca for this mission? The whole situation made Cameron want to explode into rapid gunfire. Of course.
But he kept still, though his head pounded painfully, his chest ached, his stomach tied up into angry (perhaps jealous?) knots, and his legs tired. He wanted to sleep. He wanted to cry like a child and recieve a hug. Maybe even a cookie.
But no. He was the Second Hand paired with the Sex Juju. A bad mix, in his eyes, but he had absolutely, positively nothing to say against it.

Deleted user

((deceased "SEX JUJU"))

Luca noticed Cameron's fists tighten and his expression go turbulent from the corner of her eye. Crap. What did he see? Her eyes darted around the room, but caught nothing. What the fuck, Cam?

Both Warner and his bodyguard tensed, reacting to her companion. Thinking quickly, she stretched, lengthening her body, assets on full display, assuming the bored pretty girl persona. Both men's eyes snapped to her. She pulled her silky blonde hair over one shoulder, running her hand through the length, absently brushing her curves. She smiled at them both, but her eyes darted to Cam, concerned, pained.

What's wrong?, she asked him with her eyes.

Cameron’s fists were now gritted so tight his nails were digging into his skin. His eyes spelled death for the two men in front of him. Neither of them had the right to look at anyone anymore. Cameron set his jaw harder, biting his tongue in resistance to shouting out at them. Angry pressure pounded behind his ears, adding to the mix of everything going on in his body. He just needed to stop. Get some sleep or something.

Deleted user

OhshitOhshitOhshit. Luca tried to subtly grab Cameron's attention, but other than throwing a rock at his handsome face she doubted she would be able to. He was pissed about something, but she couldn't tell what.
Then a thought occurred to her. She settled back into her statuesque stance, nothing more than a bodyguard for Casey. Her face went blank, bored, uninterested in the goings on of the crime bosses before her. Both Warner and his bodyguard returned their gazes to Casey. Luca exhaled. No way in hell this is about…me? He heart galloped in her chest.
