So I am trying to find a fresh new twist on my existing book or scrap and come up with a new idea altogether. Trouble is that everything I can think of is a cliche. I'm practically haunted by them. I need a non-cliche idea.

You can't make a story without any cliches.
What's your book about? I'm pretty big on plot twists so I might be able to help.
what's the genre?
Cliches are cliche for a reason, I think if they're done well, it's fine. That said, editors will always favor the book with some kind of fresh twist, be that an interesting perspective, a cool quirk in the universe, a unique writing style, a plot path that most writer's don't dare trespass, etc. Which one of those do you want?
I found a writing prompt on pinterest once that said, 'Write your story from the Antagonist/villain's pov, but don't reveal they're the Antagonist/villain until the very end.'
Hope this helps!
