For one of the books that I am currently writing, the characters have to face some really difficult and emotionally draining challenges. For example: The Cavern of Fear. It is a cavern that shows you your greatest fear as bad as it gets. Like, if you are afraid of everyone teasing you and calling you a failure, that is what the cavern will show happening to you. It basically brings your greatest fears to life. But I can't think of any more challenges. Please help!
Hmm well, what are some of the things your characters are afraid of? I'm not talking about spiders or snakes or something like that, unless those are literally their greatest fear which I think is kinda lame lol, i'm talking about Loneliness, failure, rejection, getting hurt, etc. Tell me a few and I might be able to help!
Here. I'll see if I can figure out how to paste the link for one of my characters so that you can see for yourself because it is kind of hard to explain.
Alright, so basically she is afraid of loosing her new family.
So what if you split it into categories? Mental/intellectual challenges, emotional challenges, physical challenges, etc?
That works. The characters have to go through all of these challenges to prove their worth to the Guardian Keys. Once they prove their worth, they will be, ummm….. how would you describe it, um, bonded, I guess, to the keys. The keys will give them special powers, help them defeat the bad guys, bla bla bla, I'm still working on it. Maybe I'll write down a section of it so that you can see more or less what I am talking about.
