The story revolves around a few (maybe five) juvenile delinquents and troublemakers with superpowers. They all go to the same school. Some are foster kids, some have rich parents who don't care, etcetera. I need a setting where they would all be in the same school. Does that sound big city or would it make more sense with a small town or suburb?
City definitely. Makes it more realistic since lots of people are packed into one city at a time, so maybe there are multiple different schools in the area but the one that they're all going to is the one that takes troublemakers and drop outs. Usually that would be a private school, actually… once all the public schools kick em out, the private school is the only one left. And they want the money.
Okay, that's actually really helpful. Since the main character isn't an actual resident of the city, he's just living with his aunt and cousin for a year, would that make a difference? Would he still be allowed to attend the private school?
How far away is he from the city? If your child is going to public school, usually they have to go to the one assigned to their district. But if it's a private school, they don't have to live in the same district, but the parents have to pay the school (cuz it's private).
I mean he's attending the school that his cousin goes to for a year even though he isn't a resident. Sorry, I wasn't clear. Would that be allowed?
Yeah, if you have the money and the means of transportation, you can go to basically any private school you want to.
