forum geography of my universes

in my story there are separate universes and I really want one of my characters to be Italian due to his backstory. HOWEVER, in the separate universes, there are certain things missing like earth and water (the concept of it and even the idea of it does not exist). That kept in mind, how can I make the geography of those world's similar to that of Earth's? Any help much appreciated.

Do you want him to be Italian-looking or Italian-acting? What does that have to do with geography?

Sooo does that mean you want your character to have italian culture? If it's a made up universe, I'm not sure about how much you can copy Italy
