So in one of my WIPs, one of the machine factions end up creating a neptune-sized planet made of metal.
I know how insane a metal planet sounds, especially at those sizes.
Is there anything wrong with the gravity implications or construction implications that such a planet would have on itself? If so, then how can I correct them.
Since I only recently created the WIP in question, I can change the planet as necessary.

Thanks for the compliment! So far, I’ve made the metal planet resemble a biblically accurate Ophanim (angel made of rings and eyes) to both make it more believable in its size and because it looks cool. The metal planet can also move if necessary (IE Warworld from DC comics or Beast Planet from Shadow Raiders).
On that thought, how much fuel would a planet like that need to sustain itself? Might factor into the plot.
