Nice
I'm participating in NaNoWriMo for the first time this year! I'm going to be working on a fantasy/adventure type thing that I've had floating around for a few years now. It focuses on four characters with different powers who are forced to run away from home after people find out about their aforementioned powers (It's not 100% tolerated in this universe). They eventually find out that there's a secret safe haven for people like them and the story is basically about them trying to get there.
I tried writing it a little while ago but gave up, but I didn't really get too far into it. I'm going to be rewriting it since I've been meaning to do that for a while, but hopefully I'll actually finish it this time. I'm so excited about it! I was able to make an outline for the first 20 chapters (It's not finished yet, but I have just over 6 pages worth of outline).
Have I mentioned that I am very excited?
BRUH!!
My story is similar to yours!! It also has to deal with the idea of forbidden magic except mine has government workers involved!!
^ Ooh that sounds really interesting!
What’s the name of your main?
I think I'm going to make a goal for myself or NaNo. I'll make a word count goal every day and have the goal grow exponentially (day one I'll write 50 words, day two I'll write 100, day 3 I'll write 200, and so on until I reach 50,000)

This is so cool
Mind if I do this, too?

I'm assuming you mean main character? If that's the case I actually have four: Crispin, Kit, Caleb, and Eva. The story mainly focusses on the first three. Eva is Caleb's older sister and she's present for most of the story but there's no chapters that focus on her POV. There may end up being a few, but right now, with the story playing out the way it is, I feel like it's not really needed at the moment.
Coolio!! I have 2 and many side character. Azalea and axel. I have about 2-3 sub-main characters. Azalea and Axel are in no way related. They meet by accident but imma have them split up because of a stupid thing. It has a bit of romance but azalea won’t care and axel will try to persuade her

yeah go for if it helps lol you don't need my permission
(I'd space it out over a few days though, bc day 10 would be like 25,000 and that's a l o t)
I'm doing this for the first time! I got my writing buddy, two main characters, and a mostly formed plot. What could go wrong?
Im starting one of the fanfiction pieces I’ve been planning for awhile. It’s AU so I don’t know how much of it actually qualifies as fanfiction outside character names and looks and stuff. But hey, it’s easier to work with ready-made characters :p
im doing the young writers program because im a smol child (ish – young teen), but my god, i think im going to die. my goal is only 10,000 words because im not a super great writer and im not particularly confident, but even so i dont know if i can do it. notebook.ai is hella helpful though, because, i can just check facts on my characters instead of coming up with it on the spot
small problem, though. i… might have… written the ending as a beginning???? help me please i started writing and it turned out as the ending and now i dont know what to do for tomorrow. advice anyone????
just leave it and start from the beginning tomorrow. it’s okay to write out of order
@andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) Are you writing a novel for NaNoWriMo?

thanks!!
Hi y’all :D
If any of you have writer’s block and/or really want to commit to getting a certain amount of words per day…
I recommend a website called Fighters Block where you write to keep your ‘fighter’s’ health points up (you can pause it too). I know it sounds kinda cheesy, but it worked well for me with the bit of pressure and it’s nice for keeping track of words. I just copy and paste what I’ve written into a doc after I’m done for the day (I’m not sure if it saves your progress and don’t want to take chances lol)
whoaaah thank you!
I'm pretty sure it doesn't save your work/progress
Okay but also know that if you have anxiety/get stressed easily fighter's block may not work for you. Definitely try it though! I just know it doesn't work for me because the one time I used it I was so stressed about getting words down my creative brain couldn't function and the short story that came out of that test drive was just absolutely terrible and its doc name in my google drive is "literally the trashiest story i've ever written"
So if you try it out, and it doesn't work for you, don't be discouraged!
I haven’t started yet because I don’t know how to…

Honestly, you've just gotta write. You probably want to slap me, but I'm right. Look up prompts online, that's what I did for the longest time. Just write and don't worry that you think it's garbage. We ALL think our work is garbage. It took me three years of slowly building a cool character in my head when I was bored for me to even BEGIN, and I currently have a combined total of 34 different Notebook pages just so I could get whatever weird ideas I have down.
Y'just gotta do it. Nose to the grindstone, write like we all know you can!
My current word count is less than 3000, and it needs to be 8000 by the end of the day in order for me to catch up.
