Mine would be Final Magic because it's dangerous to everyone. Final Magic allows the user almost unlimited power, but it also comes from the dark god of Chaos. If someone were to find out how to use Final Magic and then utilize it they would become corrupted and serve Chaos. Just using Final Magic gives off waves of magical energy that are much like radiation, they begin destroying everything within a 250-meter radius of the caster. These "radiation" waves also destroy the caster. So basically Final Magic gives you unlimited power while forcing you to serve a dark god. It also literally destroys you and everything around you.

@yeetus

Supercharging.

The user would basically supercharge their aura, the source of their powers and would basically turn into a human bomb and blow up anyone in about a 50-m radius, including themselves. This is only used sometimes by people in hopeless situation to buy time for their friends (there is a way to spare their friends while everyone else dies). When they Supercharge, they would basically levitate and their eyes would glow the colour of their aura before blowing up everything.

@Yamatsu

It's from Dragon Ball. The anti-hero man with ridiculous hair blew himself up in a similar fashion to save his wife and son. It was very sad, you had to be there.

For me I guess that would be the spell Dark Carnival, depending on the caster it has 1 of 3 forms.

  1. being that a 20 ft radius sphere of darkness centralize on the caster swallows any living creature, once inside each creature cannot see or hear anything around them other than themselves and what they consider to be their biggest fear(must involve a creature) attacking them. In this variation the damage is more psychological rather than physical and is breathable.
  2. this time instead of a sphere it is 20 ft radius circle of darkness with a range of up to 5 ft away from the caster. From this circle the fears of anyone who can see the caster and the circle are brought to reality and ,if not terrifying enough, are monsterized. The downside is that these summoned creature attack everything other than the caster making it difficult to use if you have friends nearby.
  3. like before it is a 20 ft radius circle of darkness, centralized around the caster. This variation summons a small army shadow like creatures (min of 5, max of 30) that can only be hurt blessed weapons, silver or holy powers.

if the caster isnt able to maintain focus then a creature resembling their greatest is summoned and attacks the caster possibly damaging the caster soul and leaving them without magical powers for 24 hrs.

The most dangerous magic type in my world is probably EnergyWeaving. Everything in my world is constructed out of these strings of energy called Threads. Time, space, matter, reality itself, every living thing, their basic structure is made up of these Threads. And if a Weaver possesses a reservoir of the universal energy within them, making them essentially 'the same' as these Threads, they're able to manipulate them (they can only be manipulated by something with the same frequency as them, by something the same). And if the manipulator gets creative enough, they can cause some serious damage. An EnergyWeaver has the capability to rewrite the codes of the universe. They can change the laws of physics by rearranging the way these Threads are woven together. My character, for example, is able to create a parallel universe and completely destroy the concept of balance by destroying chaos all together (you may think eternal light would be good, but eternal light is just as extreme as eternal dark). If the Weaver is powerful enough, they could create and destroy entire dimensions.

And why haven't people with this power taken over the world?: Well, only one character in my entire universe really possesses this ability (there's a kinda complicated backstory as to how), and she's terrified of her own abilities. But her abilities were (or will be) abused by another person who uses her to get what they want. So, yes, her magic does cause mass chaos.

Complications: In my world, magic is like a toxin in the brain. The more magic a user has, the worse it is on the mind. It can drive the Weaver to insanity. But not every powerful Weaver grows insane. I think of it like this: imagine a thin shaft. At the bottom of the shaft is something breakable, like an egg. Now drop a rock down it. The rock gets wedged in the shaft and doesn't crush the egg. Now drop another rock. And another and another. Eventually, the weight of these rocks stacked on top of each other is going to cause the force of gravity on the bottommost rock to overcome the force of friction on it. The rock falls and there are two options here. Either the rocks fall and crush the egg, or they line up in such a way that they get wedged in the shaft again before hitting the egg. Now imagine that egg was your sanity and the rocks represented the amount of magic you possessed. If you have less magic, which means less rocks and less weight, it's less likely that the rocks will fall and crush the egg. But sometimes even one rock, if positioned wrong can slip and crush the egg. And sometimes, if positioned just right, 10 rocks can become wedged in the shaft and leave the egg unharmed. It's like a game of chance. (god I hope that makes sense, it makes sense in my mind) But the point is, EnergyWeaving is very powerful magic, which means a higher chance of the rocks slipping and crushing the egg, a higher chance of losing your mind. And it's pretty much guaranteed that your mind will begin to deteriorate with magic of that strength (Sorry, this is so long, if you made it this far, I hope it was sorta interesting to read)

@Kinarymo

Mine would be magic levels and the dependency it gives. ( Ik Ik, it's creative af)
Basically, the more magic you can use, the weaker your physical body is and the more dependent you are.
My race of creatures, Gelves, possess almost unlimited powers, they're the strongest in the world. They haven't tried taking over the world due to the ancestral laws they are bound to, being forbidden to harm anyone. Now, having this much magic has a huge drawback: their bodies are on the edge between physical and non-physical, thus extremely fragile, a simple fist punch being enough to crush one's bones. In daily life, they are coated in a very thin layer of magic that acts as a shock nullifying shield, granting them some protection. They are dependent on their magic to be able to survive since their abilities are what make them strong, so if the magic is taken away, they are left with nothing but a fragile body and no defense.
Humans have tried increasing their magic levels, but because their bodies are dense, their magic is very unstable and it's very easy to die from overdosing. There is only one guy that did survive a magic increasing procedure, but he went mad.

@Shadow_Knight group

In my universe it takes 2 souls combined to make magic so to make magic you need someone to bind souls with and you are bound to that person. Only humans and a supernatural creature can do this and it has to be willingly. So whoever even has magic is very powerful.

@Yamatsu

@Keira O So can that work with marriages? If two people technically bind their souls, will they remain the same person? I am all about those romantic sorcerers!

Kazuki

Whoa, everything looks interesting!

Well, it's just a prototype (still need a world-building, lots of research and such), but basically in my Universe, they have three types of magic:

1) A 'normal' magic. Everyone (or people who has magic aptitude) can use it without a heavy consequences.
2) A 'world' type/class magic (50% successful). Just like its name, it can altering/damaging the world. Usually, the one who cast it will suffer from; losing their memories, or their soul and/or mind will be damaged, or losing their senses, or going insane, etc.
3) A 'universe' type/class magic. Once it casted (100% successful), the caster's existences will be erased, as if they are never existed in the first place. And no one knows this type of magic are existed (because no one survived to tell this magic). Once it's casted, and once its caster's existences are erased, the Universe will correcting it-selves to preventing it from destroyed.

i think my most powerful magic type is calamity magic, which can technically destroy anything accept for High enchant Metal (about 500 enchants put on a piece of metal)
Its very powerful, but there are drawbacks.
it basically dulls your emotions the more you use it, witch might make you insane since you cant feel anything pretty much.
it also desensitizes the terrible feeling you get when you kill someone.
and There are two ways you can use magic, hand and gesture magic, and mental magic.
Mental magic is more draining than the other.
So the Calamity magic when you use mental type it impacts the user more than usual (say 5% dulling is normal boost it up to about 20%)
So if you have this magic type you most likely will be a sociopathic murderer.
:edit
it doesn't mean that they will become said murderer, but its most likely, and high enchant metal is very rare since you need a extremely skilled mage to do at least a 5th of the enchants, so about 5 mages, and a very controlled mental magic ability.
and this magic is passed on after the user dies, so only one person may have it at a time to keep the universe from collapsing in on itself.
And the user is able to reverse the effects of the magic, with the help with a bunch of skillful arcane and runic mages.
it isn't impossible, but extremely challenging.

@mckapo

In one of my stories, there is an ability called Umr Toxicity, where the wielder has the power to create/alter necrosis in humans or plants.

@Williamnot group

Telekinesis. You can literally just rip people apart without even batting an eye. you could harden the air around you using pressure to protect from blows, or if it's just one thing, you could grab it with your mind and stop it. The more skilled the user, the more deadly the magic is. For example, a master could probably tear apart a crowd of people in mere seconds.

@primaldesire

I don't know if this is my most deadly form of magick but it is pretty dangerous. Blood magic. This kind of magick mostly surrounded around extracting power from others, especially magick creatures. This is used mostly by vampires and blood demons(which are quite different I must add). It is used sometimes by witches but more by voodooists(the general term since some don't like the term witchdoctor). It is forbidden and against the law in many places since it is so dangerous and is harmful to others.
Now, blood magic can be used against humans as some humans may have had distant magic in their blood from crossbreeding or by free-roaming magick getting absorbed by them. It is very weak and there is not much magick in them but can be proven useful for smaller spells, enchantments, and such.
Generally, it is used on magick creatures since it is more useful but it is considered wasteful if you use for smaller spells that don't require as much. Now they have ways to keep the creature alive and still be able to take magick from them.
It's an even more complicated process for how they get the magick out their blood(which is why it's called blood magic).

Saliea

Energy manipulation.
It is the ability to analyze and manipulate energies. Part of this ability is the possibility of removing the magic energies form someones being, making it impossible to use magic, or only be able to use simple, low energy consuming abilities. It has two large limitations. One is that on the energy scale (everyone has a limit measured on the energy scale ranging from 0-100) someone would have to have a 95+ energy level to use the power without passing out. The other limitation is that it is extremely energy consuming to use. When used too much it can cause the people using it to pass out.

@Young-Dusty-the-Monarch-of-Dusteria group

Some great powers on here! It's really interesting to see what people are coming up with! ^^
I have this humanoid species in my stories called Intunera. Basically, they're made of pure negative energy, aka Negativity, and can control Negativity as well. It isn't dangerous for them, but it's incredibly toxic to humans. Short-term exposure can cause depression, anxiety, paranoia, etc. Long-term exposure can cause physical damage such as weakness, vulnerability to disease, and even cancer. Just touching or sharing space with an Intunera can put a human at risk–especially since humans in my stories have no idea that magic of any kind exists. Also, Intunera are usually very malicious (although there have been some good ones in the past), and they enjoy making those around them suffer. Oh, and they eat human souls, and can regenerate after being killed.
Limitations? Music causes them pain if they hear it, they can't eat human food without getting poisoned, and conventional medicine can't help them if they get hurt or sick. There's also this other species that controls Positivity, which is the opposite of Negativity (obviously), and Intunera have to avoid them at all costs. Basically, Positivity treats Intunera the way Negativity treats humans.
I think that's all lol ^^;

@Reblod flag

Well, there's Void magic which is magic that has been sourced from the Void which is another plane of existence where the gods reside and souls go so basically the afterlife. Only a certain race have the natural ability to control Void magic and they could usually do it easily without many drawbacks but due to some rather disastrous events, the species was wiped out. It's possible to learn Void magic and it is incredibly powerful but the consequences are severe. In general, overuse of magic can lead to your insides leaking outside or becoming corrupted but it depends on the situation. With Void magic, a person will more quickly deteriorate and will become very aggressive. The abilities that come with Void magic include a range of telekinetic abilities, short-distance teleportation, creating rifts in space and also, if powerful enough, the ability to literally crush a person from the inside out.

Along with that, there's a form of magic that's easier to learn but harder to control. It's called raw magic. Magic is manifested into different forms usually but Void magic and raw magic aren't. Raw magic comes from Medeis and Void magic comes from the Void but raw magic was never meant to be controlled. The possibilities that come with raw magic are practically endless as it is technically the power of creation and destruction. Most people who use raw magic don't live very long because it's very illegal. Sometimes, the gods themselves will smite whoever learns the secrets of raw magic but sometimes the person is powerful enough to ward off the gods. That's the extent of raw magic but if you aren't killed you'll end up killing yourself. Raw magic users go mad and they experience all kinds of agonising pain. Not really worth it.

@Conrupta

Well, basically, the magic in the world I'm creating/writing, isn't inherently powerful. Yet its one of the main things in day-to-day life. There's a 'Destruction' magic, Which I suppose would be the most dangerous magic. It can be used to destroy much of the things you see, whether it be violently or just strip it away into its basic forms. It sounds powerful, yes. But it costs major major strains on the human body, and if overused will crack the user's sphaera (core/power source) allowing for the creation of a cursed-sphaera. Which has benefits and many many downsides too. Which can cause the destruction magic to be a lot higher.

@jantz

Soul type magic is very illegal and dangerous in my fictional world.
A soul spell known as "Twisted Fate" is by far the strongest spell i've been able to come up with. Once casted, both people's souls are tied together, and the fate of one becomes the fate of both. This spell has been feared by gods and immortals alike, a few even being tricked into giving mortals immortality.

@HighPockets group

Probably Possession-Manipulation. It's very easy to fuck up, and it often leaves the person being manipulated mute, insane, or both.
Also Sense-Stripping is another, where you can strip away someone's ability to do something. It can be returned if the user is powerful enough, but if the spell is cast wrong, it's permanent. It happens to Maia (combined with Possession-Manipulation) leaving her irreversably mute, Lucas (taking away his vision during a fight), and Iam (taking away his ability to speak to prove a point during a meeting).
