"Same here. Casual dress or not, showing up a sweaty and dirty mess would be embarrassing." She shook her head, standing and slipping back inside. "I'll, uh, see you then?"
"Same here. Casual dress or not, showing up a sweaty and dirty mess would be embarrassing." She shook her head, standing and slipping back inside. "I'll, uh, see you then?"
"That sounds wonderful," Hades told her honestly, standing himself to go into his room.
Persephone huffed a laugh, shaking her head. "You might change your mind yet. See you, Hades."
"See you later, Persephone," He said with a smile, reaching up to put the home phone back in its place.
((Skip?))
(yeah sounds good)
Persephone wrinkled her nose, fussing with her hair as she made her way down the stairs into the shop. She'd showered fairly quickly, only to spend a full half hour trying to decide on an outfit. Sure, it was a more casual thing, but that didn't mean she didn't want to look decent. She'd eventually settled on a yellow dress with flowers scattered along the fabric, and a pair of simple sandals. Easy, considering the time she'd spent complaining to herself and singing along to whatever was playing on the radio while going through her closet.
Hades eventually decided on his usual black attire - black pants and shirt, and a black jacket and shoes. That, compared with his pale skin and also black hair, made him look rather attractive. Aphrodite had always said black was his color, and he decided to trust the god of beauty on this one.
"Where are you off to?" Persephone looked up, at the source of the voice. Her father raised an eyebrow in amusement, shifting the large potted plant in his arms to see her better.
"Angel's throwing some party, and he insisted that I had to come." Persephone said with a laugh, shaking her head. "You gonna be alright here?"
"Hades! It's always so nice to see you, my king. You need a ride across?" A voice asked, and Hades looked up, smiling.
"I certainly do, Charon. I'm going up tonight."
"Ha-des! Let me guess…is there a girl involved?"
Hades nodded sheepishly, sitting down inside the boat. "Perhaps."
"Say hi to him for me. Is there any chance you've got a date to this thing?" Alesandro asked, his eyes sparkling with amusement as he set the pot down and made his way to the counter.
"There, uh, might be…" Persephone admitted, rubbing the back of her she followed him.
"In that case, it's a good thing I picked this up." He dug around under the counter as she leaned against it curiously, pulling out a flower crown. "Flowers look nice on you."
Charon chuckled a little bit, starting the boat's engine and sitting down next to him, clutching the wheel. "Want to tell me about her?"
Hades sighed with a small smile. "Alright, alright. Her name is Persephone and she works at a nursery. Really likes plants - and she found Ceberus."
"Quite the skill set. From the sound of her, she seems to be a right wonderful young lady."
"You bet she is," Hades responded, leaning back with a grin.
Persephone grinned, leaning over the counter to pull her father into a quick huh. "Thanks, dad. There're left overs in the fridge from lunch, if you get hungry."
"Oh, stop worrying. I'm the parent, remember?" He chided jokingly, giving her a squeeze before letting go. "But thank you."
"Well, anyway, Charon, thank you. I can get back myself, I think." Hades told him, stepping out of the boat at the crumbling ramp that led upwards.
"I'm here anytime," Charon responded in a scraggly voice. He smiled, showing crooked teeth, and waved a little before starting the motor again and zooming down the Styx.
"Yeah, yeah. I can't help but worry. I get it from you." Persephone joked, nudging him as she set the flower crown on top of her once again slightly messy curls.
"Well, stop it." He said, pointing a finger at her playfully before returning to moving around pots.
Hades smiled after him, eventually sighing and turning to walk up the ramp that led up top. Light showed from the top of it, and he slid on his sunglasses after stepping out onto the earth's green ground.
He stomped his foot softly and the ramp disappeared, leaving him to walk out of the clearing and into the city.
Persephone, figuring she had a little bit of time to kill, flitted about to help water the plants and things. She was entirely unaware of the fact that once she was done paying attention to a plant, it was twice as healthy, and visibly so, but continued on.
Hades eventually spotted the nursery - all the plants made it impossible to miss. Smiling to himself, although he was a bit nervous - which made him feel more out of sorts than usual, he wasn't normally nervous - he went up to it and knocked on the front door.
Persephone looked up from the small rose bush in the pot in her hands, setting it back down as she headed to the door. She pulled it open, her face brightening as she looked up at Hades. "Long time no see, stranger."
Hades grinned at her impulsively, tilting his head. "Hello, Persephone."
"Bring the guy in, Seph! I want to meet him!"
Persephone's cheeks darkened at her dad's shout, and she groaned. "Apparently, you're being requested."
"Quite alright," He responded with a polite nod but a real smile, stepping a little inside.
She stepped back, gesturing for him to follow her. A little ways in, they came across a man who looked the complete opposite of Persephone in most ways, lighter skin, golden blonde hair, and a taller stature. When he smiled at Hades was when the similarities showed. They had the exact same smile, and it was obvious where she'd gotten her warm brown eyes from.
"Hello there. I take it you're my daughter's date tonight?"
"Yes. I am," He responded, nodding and smiling politely. "I'm Hades."
"Call me Alesandro." He said, winking at Hades. "I hope I don't have to give you the precursory date talk, but what do you think?" Persephone made a face, shaking her head.
