"Well, if that wasn't your best, I would truly like to know what is." Hades told her, smiling to himself. "I thought you were very pretty in that."
"O-oh." Persephone covered the lower half of her face with a hand, hiding her burning cheeks for no reason. "There really isn't anything spectacular, trust me."
"I think I might like to see it anyway," Hades admitted, tilting his head at an angle and blushing a little bit despite himself - he should try to keep that away more often, it showed up far too easily on his deathly pale face.
"We'll, uh, we'll see." Persephone muttered, lowering her hand after a few moments. "I'm sure I've got nothing on the literal goddesses you've met though."
"Yeah, yeah, Athena and Apothadrite have all tried their share and whatnot. I'm not the person that falls in love easily," Hades told her, blushing again a couple seconds after realizing what he'd said.
((Artemis is the goddess of virginity and maidenhood…))
Persephone wasn't quite sure how to respond to that, stuttering out a 'huh' as she tugged a hand through her curls.
((oOPsies I meant Athena my bad))
He laughed to himself a little bit, uncrossing his legs in the chair, not quite sure what to say. "It's true."
"Which part?" She asked quietly, finally managing to get her voice about her.
"That you're very pretty to me. Does that bother you?" He asked kindly, not wanting to hurt her, even over the phone.
"No. No, it-uh, it doesn't." She had just needed to hear it again, to make sure he actually seemed to believe it and wasn't just saying it.
"Alright, good," He decided, standing and starting to pace out of habit. Plus, it would give him something to do if someone else came in.
"I'm uh, not keeping you from anything, am I?" She asked suddenly, as the thought hit her.
"Of course not." He stopped and started at the wall of charcoal in confusion. "I don't really have much to do."
"Oh, that's good. I mean, that I'm not keeping you from things." She grew quiet again for a few moments, thinking. "And, uh, what are you doing later tonight?"
"Nothing, as usual," He answered, a small smile creeping across his face. "Why do you ask?"
"Well, I need a date to this party a friend of mine is throwing…" She started, already worrying that she'd regret it. "And I was maybe sorta wondering if you'd be willing to go?"
Hades grinned to himself, looking down at his shoes. "Of course I would. When is it?" One didn't need talent to hear his smile over the phone.
Persephone was a bit startled at his willingness to accompany her, but she smiled brightly, grateful he couldn't see her blush. "It starts at eight."
"Alright. Shall I just meet you at the nursery?" He asked, sitting down again. He couldn't believe his luck.
"I mean, that is where I live, so it would be easiest." She said with a laugh, shaking her head. "It's not too dressy, so don't worry about that."
"I won't." He grinned, laughing a little. "Thank you for inviting me, Persephone."
"You don't have to thank me." She pointed out, laughing. "I just want to spend some time with you. Get to know you, y'know."
"Yeah. Mutual," He responded, tilting his head. "I should probably get ready and things."
