Mel plopped his head on Nick's shoulder, sniffling softly as he contemplated his lover's words. He had given Abrose another chance at life, even if living was the last thing the human had wanted to do after losing his family. It had been the earlier years of the rebellion, where the Queen had been the most ruthless, wanting to set an example for anyone who dared raise any suspicion of magic as well as anyone who sided with the so-called witches. Mel had been wary about the whole situation, already distancing himself from the inner court and slowly trying his best to fade away silently from the turmoile of the other Lords, his little rebellion; already growing in numbers. It wasn't the sort of rebellion where they were going for the Queen's dethronement, at least it hadn't started off that way. Mel and Veda just felt as if many who were being convicted were innocent. If they could offer a safe place until they got themselves situated, then they would of course help in any way. It wasn't until Abrose's family was targeted that Mel started to truly take things seriously, plotting out dungeon escapes and reinstating himself as respected lord of the court if only to gain valuable information as soon as possible. Mel remembered it like it was yesterday, growing their little ragtag family, falling in and out of love whenever he sought the need for company, falling hard for Roi, fully convinced that this would be the one he gave his heart to, then being so very painfully wrong, spending time with Abrose and learning about his magic, helping him by bringing trusted customer, inviting him out to balls and parties in secret, watching him fall in love, falling in love himself, and now this, moving across the ocean all to start again. He sighed softly, breathing a small laugh, "Forgive me, my love. The wildlife and dirt are very much needed around here." He lifted his head, pressing a brief kiss to Nick's hand as he listened. "I think we can do that." He offered feebly, but he was feeling better. This house and the experiences within its walls would always live with Mel, with all of them. The move was necessary and a nice change from the constant stress of being under the Queen's rule. In all honesty, it was probably something Mel needed to do years ago but he had always felt responsible for those who came into his care. He slowly, if not a bit reluctantly, sat up and began scooting off the bed to find a change of clothes. "A shower and a very long nap are calling my name." He stretched before offering his hand to Nick. "Care to join?"
"And here you had me all excited to watch you make tea for the first time." He giggled and turned to press a kiss to Easton's lips. Aside from an innate knowledge of plants, Abrose's magic always tended to be receptive to his emotions, the plants around him reflecting what he was feeling at any given time. Even the food he made, if it had anything from his garden back home, had sometimes tasted differently depending on the sort of mood he was in that day. it would be interesting to see how the tea came out after the night they had. "Or," he offered, dropping his voice down to a whisper as he trailed a light hand over Easton's form, "I could teach you how to make it. I won't make you touch any of them but in case you want to make it again instead of using the premade tea bagsy you'll know how." Abrose suggested, bursting out into laughter as Easton kissed and tickled him, trying to use the blankets around them as a shield from Easton's attack. "and you are a menace!" Abrose replied as he got a moment to breathe, only to be consumed by Easton's kisses again. "I loved every moment." He murmured, relaxing once he was allowed a moment of reprieve. "I don't think I'll ever want to get enough of you, my love. I'll always want you more, want to love you more, want to be with you more."
