Zanna got into the truck after shooting one last glare towards Thomas. She shut the door behind her letting Ward’s words sit heavy on her heart. There wasn’t going to be another war or resistance. From everything she had seen and heard no Reformer wanted that. Her adrenaline was starting to wear off and her arm began to throb with pain from the open wound. She didn’t have anything on her to stop the bleeding so she started to look for something within the confines of the truck, “Just blow the doors open already. We need to get out of here.”

@Moriarty

"With pleasure." Day hummed to himself as he pressed the button inside of the vehicle. The doors had actually started to open slowly, but it was too late for that, because the truck– which was both a weapon and a form of transportation– fired a powerful explosive that obliterated the door altogether.
Day smiled at the destruction and hit the gas. The vehicle rolled out of that place quickly, out onto the road. It was an all terrain vehicle, which meant off road was an option– and Day was pretty sure the thing had an underwater setup, too. He was having fun with the new toy, to say the least.
But for now, he had more important things to worry about. In no particular order, they included putting as much distance between that military base and him, and the other was in the vehicle with him.
"How's your arm?" he asked as he sped the vehicle up. He wouldn't put it past them to pursue, so he wasn't going to take any chances.

@ShadeStar

Zanna had found some bandages to wrap around the wound. She began to do so as Day sped the truck up. They could pursue the runaway pair, but she doubted it would happen. Ward seemed to… Distraughtto do anything like that. Her arm was still bleeding heavily and the pain had finally got to her as she tightly wrapped it up. Her face had flushed from the blood loss but she wasn't going to pass out yet, "It's seen better days. But I think I'll live."

@Moriarty

"Hm." Day pulled his eyes off of the road just long enough to glance back at her. He frowned a little and returned his attention to driving. "There a first aid kit in here anywhere? Pain relievers or anything?"

@ShadeStar

"There should be one somewhere. I can't find it, but I found the loose set of bandages," Zanna responded still searching for the kit. Her wound had been covered, but it was still throbbing with pain. Her new worry was that the wound would bleed through the bandages. She grimaced slightly as she kept looking, "I'm just riding it out until then."

@Moriarty

"I have a question." Day paused, speeding the vehicle up a little. He was way over the speed limit, but it wasn't like he cared. That was merely a suggestion. "Okay, two questions. One is– where are we going? And two is– how the heck do we get there?"

@ShadeStar

"Let's just say I still wasn't completely confident we were going to make it out," Zanna gave up on the medkit just leaning back in her seat. She couldn't do anything more for the bullet hole other than trusting the bandages and holding it tight, "So wherever you want. I think there's an abandoned house a little ways off the path after, eh, an hour of driving. As far as I know, no one else knows about it."

@Moriarty

"Well let's start with that, then." Day scratched the short stubble lining his jaw with one hand and drove with the other. "I don't know of any places close by. Anywhere that would be safe for us is more remote. Take too long to get there. Maybe later. How are you holdin' up, anyhow?"

@ShadeStar

"Besides the fact I can't find pain killers, fine," Zanna lied through her teeth continuing to hold the wound tightly. It didn't help much and the bandages were slowly starting to turn red, but it wasn't like she could do much of anything to stop it at the moment, "Might have to stitch the hole up when we get there."

@Moriarty

Day nodded in response. "Alright." He sped up the vehicle yet again. "We'll get you fixed up soon enough," he promised, not even acknowledging the poor speedometer, which was probably having a seizure due to his speed.

@ShadeStar

Zanna was now keeping sn eye on the surroundings figuring since Day was speeding they would arrive sooner than later. She spotted the slight bareness in the surrounding trees that would be big enough for a vehicle. Her good hand let go if the bloodied bandages and pointed it out to Day, “There, up head. I don’t recommend going down the path at full speed though.”

@Moriarty

Day slowed the vehicle– and it jolted to a stop, since he was going a tad too fast to stop slowly. He swerved onto the path, biting his tongue as the big vehicle bounced and jolted onto the little dirt road. He slowed to a more acceptable speed. "Nice. I always liked forest settings," he commented blankly, as casual as anyone fleeing the military could be.

@ShadeStar

Zanna gritted her teeth as they made the rough turn. She held onto her injury tightly trying not to let it jostle to much. She let out a short laugh, “Yeah. It’s better than most other settings I suppose. You can stop and park whenever. It might be smart to go on foot for the remainder of the treck. Harder to track.”

@Moriarty

"Good point." Day pulled the vehicle over and shut the truck off, glancing at Zanna. "How far is it?" His gaze dropped to her injured arm, working his jaw back and forth slightly as he thought. "Think you can hold out alright til' we get there?"

@ShadeStar

“From here? Maybe a twenty minute walk on foot,” Zanna responded unbuckling. Her arm was still throbbing in pain and she was beginning to get dizzy from blood-loss. She looked back to Day as she grabbed the bloodied bandages on her arm, “Don’t worry about me, I’ll make it through.”

@Moriarty

Day sniffed, looking thoroughly unconvinced. "Mhm." He swung open the truck door and climbed out, his boots thudding softly against the dirt as they made contact with the ground. He sucked in a breath of fresh air and exhaled. "Welp– Let's get going, then. When you're ready."

@ShadeStar

Zanna slipped out of the truck having to pause for a moment as her head spun. She shook it once to try and reorientate herself before starting to walk off into the forest towards the house. At least she hoped she was moving towards the house, "It's this way. Follow me."

@Moriarty

Day followed her, calmly eyeing their surroundings. He approved of it. The secluded, forest setting. He just hoped the stupid military didn't show up and drop a bomb on them. That would suck. A lot. His gaze flickered back to Zanna. He almost reiterated his question as to whether or not she was okay, but he decided against it.

@ShadeStar

Zanna made it a full 15 steps into the forest and away from the truck before she was leaning against a tree trying to get the world to stop spinning. She needed to make it to the house, she needed to show Day there, then she could collapse. The military could come at any moment, but it was clear she was in no condition to move on her own, that didn't mean she wasn't going to stop trying.

@Moriarty

"I think you need to stop," Day said blankly, stopping beside her. "You look like you're about to go down. And if you go down, we're both screwed." Wording it like that made him feel a little better. A little sentimental. Like he was only worried about her because if affected his wellbeing, too.
Even though that wasn't really the case. He paused a moment, glancing at the woods around them, up at the sky, down at the ground. "I'll carry you. You just tell me which way to go."

@ShadeStar

Zanna let out a sigh as she held her arm. She looked up at him feeling useless, even though that wasn't necessarily true. After a moment or so she let out another sigh seeing that the world was still spinning around her, "Fine. You. You'll need to come over and pick me up."

@Moriarty

Day was glad she didn't argue, because he wasn't asking. She carried him before when it was necessary. It was the least he could do, really. "A'ight." He seemed to have no problem with this, lifting her up into his arms without a problem. Once he had her and made sure he wouldn't drop her, he glanced back in the direction they'd been headed. "Okay. This way, then?"

@ShadeStar

Zanna would have been more bothered by this if she was in a better condition. She leaned against him glad still holding onto her injured arm trusting him not to drop her. He had had plenty of time to recover, so he shouldn't have a problem. She finally processed the question and looked to the direction he was referencing, "Um, yeah. That way."

@Moriarty

"Alrighty." Day held her against himself, mindful of her injury as he started along in the given direction. He must've thought it was a bit too quiet, because he started humming to himself as he walked. He kept a good pace, not wanting to waste time– especially not with Zanna fading from her injury.

@ShadeStar

Zanna tried to focus on where they were, but lost track quickly. Did her limbs always feel this heavy? It didn't matter she needed to focus on getting them to the house. She started to focus on the sound of his humming to keep her focused. Since she couldn't do it on her surroundings. After some time walking Zanna managed to point off to the left, "A few more minutes that way, and we're there."
