"It suits you," he said with a smile. Deep down he missed the piercing multi-colored eyes, but it was for the best. Getting recognized would be a disaster. He wasn't sure how far reaching her father's troops were, or how many planets they had military bases on. It would only take one slip up for the whole gig to be over. "Okay," he said, rummaging around in his wallet, "hopefully I have enough for all the stuff we need."

@ElderGod-Carrots

“Thanks,” She returned with a smile, the tiniest hint of a blush coating her cheeks however it was barely noticeable, “What’s gonna happen if you don’t have enough to pay for everything?”

@WriteOutofTime

He smirked, shrugging roguishly. "Stealing's always an option. Stealing food is easy." He paid for the clothing with relative ease, but depending on the cost of fuel, he might now be able to afford a meal.

@ElderGod-Carrots

Astra frowned, “Stealing isn’t an option and wrong,” She protested, placing the glasses over her eyes and tucking her hair into the hat once it was paid for. They’d have to find somewhere else to change, “So basically we have to eat cheap or not at all.”

@WriteOutofTime

"Stealing isn't an option?" Kai repeated incredulously. "It's the only option. It's a business model." She still seemed uncomfortable with the idea, so he sighed, his shoulders deflating. As he led the way back to the port to purchase fuel, he said, "But if you really don't like stealing, we don't have to. We'll get by some other way."

@ElderGod-Carrots

Astra bit her lip, contemplating the whole situation, "I guess… if there realllly isn't another option…" She mumbled, more to herself then anything, "No ones gonna get in trouble, right? And it won't be anything major, right?"

@WriteOutofTime

"Of course we won't get caught," Kai reassured her, paying for fuel at the fueling station. He paid a bit extra for the person at the fueling desk to refill his ship for him, since he no longer needed to worry about affording food. Stealing a meal was child's play. "It'll be fine."

@ElderGod-Carrots

“Says the bounty hunter to the princess,” She crossed her arms, rocking back on her heels as she waited, “As long as you know what you’re doing then… I guess one time won’t hurt..”

@WriteOutofTime

"Perfect!" Kai said, grinning at her. "I knew you'd catch on. Okay, here's the con. We'll go to a restaurant and eat a fucking feast. You leave first, head back to the ship, and I'll do the rest."

@ElderGod-Carrots

Astra raised a brow, clearly reconsidering her choice to go along with the plan but she nodded, “Okay, fine. Just don’t get caught on your way out.”

@ElderGod-Carrots

"I dunno, I've never been able to explore this planet before," Astra replied, 'We could try somewhere local? Somewhere that sells food native to this planet, maybe."

@WriteOutofTime

Kai agreed, taking a second to take the person who put fuel in his ship before going inside to change. "Don't run off, I'm going to change clothes. You can change next, then food."

@WriteOutofTime

He flashed her a smile and a quick "no peaking" before heading into his ship. Once he got inside, he let his confident mask slip a little, his brows furrowing. His future was looking grim. Even if he managed to rescue her from every other bounty hunter from here to Zuka, would he still get paid if she was alive? He certainly wasn't going to kill her. He sighed, slipping into his new shirt and buttoning it halfway. Then he replaced his grimace with a blithe smile and headed back outside. "Done!"

@ElderGod-Carrots

Astra gave Kai a quick once over, a small flitting across her lips as she peeled away from the pillar and towards him and the ship, "Not bad, not bad at all. Be back in five." She headed into the ship herself, releasing a breath. In all of this, she was more scared then she was letting on. Even though Kai had said he wasn't going to kill her, he might, and the thought didn't set well in her stomach. She changed quickly, slipping the crop over her head and the white ripped denim shorts she'd picked up, too. She adjusted the hat and glasses before she headed out again.

@WriteOutofTime

Kai grinned at her new look. "The 'fit suits you well!" he said as they walked down the sidewalk. The city was congested, with lots of little connected buildings sprawled out along the street. Markets and food trucks were placed around sporadically. The first restaurant Kai saw appeared to have some sort of seafood native to the planet's oceans. "How about seafood?"

@ElderGod-Carrots

"Thanks!" Astra fell into step beside Kai as they walked, taking in the buildings and the small stalls dotted around. It was so different to what she was used to, but she liked it. When Kai mentioned food, she smiled, "Sounds good! Looks like a nice place to eat."

@WriteOutofTime

Kai held the door open for her again, gesturing her inside before following after her. The restaurant was dimly lit and small, definitely locally owned and not some sort of chain. The tables were placed haphazardly around the rustic wooden decor, with old photographs hanging on the walls. Old fashioned bluegrass music played overhead, fully immersing them in the restaurant's atmosphere. The waitress at the front of the store greeted them with a pearly white smile that contrasted with her dark skin. "Welcome to Shanty's," she said with a drawl, grinning. "Table for two for the lovely couple?"

@ElderGod-Carrots

She smiled at Kai as the door was held up, heading into the restaurant and having to take off her glasses so she could actually see what was happening in the dark building. It was… actually really nice, somewhere she would want to visit again if she wasn't under the impression she was going to die soon. Astra couldn't help but go red, rubbing at the back of her neck, "Oh, we're not- we're not together but a table for two would be great, thank you."

@WriteOutofTime

"Just a couple of pals," Kai joked with a laugh. "Our relationship is very…unique." They were both quite relaxed. No one would assume one was being held captive, anyway. The waitress ignored both of their responses, prattling on about things to do in the city for young couples like she'd rehearsed her lines. She led then to an empty table and handed them menus.

@ElderGod-Carrots

The princess was glad that there was no comment made and the female just kept talking as they took a seat. She'd rather not think about all that right now and rather on eating and… stealing food. A thought that still didn't sit right with her but they had no other choice. She gladly took the menu, beginning to read it over.

@WriteOutofTime

The waitress asked, "Can I start y'all out with something to drink? We have several drink specials, and I have tons of suggestions."

@WriteOutofTime

Kai cut in before the waitress could respond, "And also, what's your best alcoholic drink?" He cast a sly smile at Astra.

The waitress laughed, "For the lady, we have several soft drink options, and for the gentleman, may I interest you in our selection of wine? White goes best with seafood."
