"Mushrooms sound good," Jax decided. "I've never had them before, though. I-I think I'll like them, though." The girl swung her legs off the edge of the bed, still wrapped in the quilt. "And-and sure, you can call me Jax!"
"We're agreed then. Come on, I will make you an omelet and hopefully, it won't turn out terribly." Milo nodded. He was actually a pretty decent cook all things considered, but sometimes he went a little out there with experimentation.
"I definitely miss them. I just hope this goes over well. Besides, who's going to watch the kid. It's not like one of us can stay behind and watch her when the rest if us go on missions. There's no way I'm staying behind with some 12 year old whole you guys have all the fun."
"Oh come on, if worst comes to worst, Milo will be doing all of the babysitting." She smiled a little bit, "But, we can at least try to get to know the kid, after all, she isn't going to be around for too long. Milo will eventually realize what a big mistake he made, and then she'll be either returned to Strongman, or to a loving family."
James nodded.
"I'm going to go down to see if there's anything to eat. Want sonething?"
He rubbed his neck as he stood stiffly and approached the door.
"Milo might be making something for that kid. Probably means he wants us all to sit down around the table."
"Omelets sound good," the girl agreed. She couldn't remember the last time she'd had a home-cooked meal, and was nearly bouncing with excitement as she followed Milo to the kitchen. Jax sat down, swinging her legs back and forth.
Milo put together the ingredients in a bowl, washed and diced the morels and mixed them up in the eggs, putting some butter in the pan and making the omlet fluffy and moist, with a crisp edge to it from the butter. All in all done good work, and he didn't even need to worry about the mushrooms, he just… could make them. Which was quite useful, really. "Dinner is served. To you. To eat. Because it is dinner." he said, giving her a juice box and sitting across the table from Jax.
"Thank you!" Jax tried to cover her mouth as much as she could as she removed her mask and sipped from the juice box. The girl took small bites of the omelet, humming happily to herself. "This is really good!"
"I am glad to hear you think so." Milo nodded, smiling a small smile at Jax. He reminded her so much of he couldn't bear to even think their name. She was so innocent, so deserving of more than the world had given her. And Milo was going to do his damn best in making sure she got it.
James nodded.

Marlowe stood up following him, "Eh, it won't be a problem to stay there and eat with them. It'll pose a problem when he decides to have us babysit for him or something." She said with a shrug, "I mean, we got used to each other, right?"
(Bumpity boo, I'm coming for you.)
