(I think Ash's character can interact with mine. Calanthe and chaos_generator can either interact or just do their own thing in the background, idk if this helps or no.)
(Alright, sounds good.)
"I know. I have had experience with children previous to this life. I hardly feel the need to tell you everything about myself. This is just… you can trust me." he said, watching James disappear up the stairs. He scooped up the child into his arms and lay her down on his bed, gingerly covering her up with a quilt. The spores would wear off soon, and shock and confusion were often temporary side effects. Might as well make sure this wouldn't be too painful of an experience for her.
(This was my last reply, if it helps you (Ash) figure out what to do with Jax.)
(Thanks!)
Jax's gray eyes slowly opened, and the girl looked around the room in confusion.
"Where… where am I? I-" Her mask had fallen down, and a panicked Jax pulled it up over her mouth and nose, trying to hide the scars on her face. Jax looked up at Milo, her eyes wide with fear.
"Did you- did you take me p-prisoner? I'm-I'm sorry! P-please don't h-hurt me!" The girl pulled the quilt up over her head, visibly trembling under the blanket.
“You are at are base. And while you will not be harmed here, you will not be leaving for the time being.” Milo said, taking note of the scars and feeling increasingly concerned for this girl. “What is your name?” he asked, trying to be pleasant.
(*our base, autocorrect killed me and notebook won’t let me edit, sorry 😐)
Marlowe walked around the large area she called her room and office. It had been a large dining hall, or something of that nature, before they had taken over the building, and the size of the room suited her perfectly. She started to walk over to the other side of the room, where she had left a small space for her room. She quickly changed into her everyday wear -a t-shirt and sweatpants- then flopped down on her bed. She grabbed a notebook where she kept her sketches of new weaponry, or machinery she was planning, or dreamt of creating.
"Oh, o-okay. Please don't-don't tell the Strongman, I-I don't wanna be locked up again!" The girl poked her head out from the blankets, realizing that Milo had asked her a question. "I'm-I'm Heartbreaker."
"Heartbreaker." Milo repeated. That name was a bit old for her, wasn't it? Hmm. Heartbreaker. He could still work with that, even if his paternal instincts screamed at him a bit for it. "A good name, I suppose. Choosing a name is very important. I call myself Moss Man, sometimes, but you can call me Milo. It's simpler."
Up in his room, James stood in it's center, throwing knives at the heroes on the wall.
He stopped for a moment, as if struck with an idea.
Quickly, he left his room, heading through the halls towards Marlowe's room.
Reaching it, he stopped and knocked.
"Milo. I like that." The girl managed to smile, although under her mask. "My real name's Jax, but I don't use it much." The girl wrapped herself in the quilt, confident that this man wouldn't hurt her.
"Jax is also a lovely name. Would you prefer I use it?" he asked. "Also, are you hungry? It would be just about time for lunch, and I was going to cook something up. How do you feel about morels? They're a type of mushroom, apparently quite the delicacy and I wanted to experiment with them."
Marlowe groaned and stood up, hiding the sketchbook then heading over to the door. She figured that it was probably Milo trying to get her out of her room. She opened the door and saw James standing there, "What is it?" She mumbled, pulling her hair into a ponytail. Marlowe normally wasn't this grumpy or moody, but the idea of having the kid around had sort of lowered her spirits a lot. She studied him, trying to figure out what he wanted, or what he was up to, but nothing about his demeanor really clued her in, "Well, don't just stand there, are you coming in?"
His face stretch a tiny bit as he entered the room.
"I think I have an idea on how we can replicate my power into some sort of machine. So I'm not constantly losing flesh. This is getting old, you know. The pain is enough, along with the stress of going out almost every week. But adding a child? What the hell was Milo thinking?"
He rubbed his face.
"You know how my powers work, yes?"
"I know how your powers work, I was the one who made a giant chart on it, remember, I even drew out some of the particles that were potentially being messed with." Marlowe said with a small smile, "It should be possible to replicate it, although it might take a while, and a new lab potentially." She said heading over to her large worktable, "And with the kid, well, I think Milo should realize that this will not work out. If he truly wants a child, number one, he shouldn't kidnap one from an idiot, number two, get a family that will love and take care of the child, and number three, not be a supervillain." She shrugged a little, "But, it's his choice, not ours, and I do hope the kid won't be too much of a nuisance, I already have you and Milo breaking my gadgets every so often. That reminds me, that miniature shrink ray I let you borrow, have you seen it?"
"It's in my room. I'll get it now. And this time, it's not broken." He joked bit, and left for a few minutes. When he returned, he had Marlowe's gadget in hand.
"Here you go. I totally forgot I had it. Was sitting on my desk, under a pile of papers."
He sat on the floor, watching her look the shrink ray over.
"The kid's cute enough. And Strongman sort of treated her like shit. Maybe she won't be roo much trouble. Knowing Milo, he's gone full dad mode.
Just like he did when he found me. Remember?"
(Also, i had a few other villain and hero ideas, for background characters if you want to hear about them?)
(I'm interested in hearing them)
Marlowe smiled a little bit, 'Wow, it isn't broken, it's nearly impossible to fix this thing without shrinking something, or itself in the process." She sat it down on the table and turned back to face him, "He did treat her terribly, but also, what if that child was actually his. Then we'll be in big trouble for kidnapping a superhero's child. But, if not, I guess she won't be too troublesome, as long as she stays away from my stuff." She said as she fidgeted a bit with a wrench that she had found in one of her draws, "Oh, I remember, he was the same when he found me. Although, I must admit, I actually thought you were a pretty nice person when he brought you here, Milo was always making sure that we were taken cared of and stuff, and then we would go out and commit some crime or something." She leaned back against her chair, "Those were really good days."
(Uh, we be up in Marlowe's room. Your downstairs with Milo.)

"Mushrooms sound good," Jax decided. "I've never had them before, though. I-I think I'll like them, though." The girl swung her legs off the edge of the bed, still wrapped in the quilt. "And-and sure, you can call me Jax!"
"I definitely miss them. I just hope this goes over well. Besides, who's going to watch the kid. It's not like one of us can stay behind and watch her when the rest if us go on missions. There's no way I'm staying behind with some 12 year old whole you guys have all the fun."
