Cory smiled back and headed to class, This'll be great…She's my first real friend. He sighed and got his stuff from his locker.

Marlee watched the clock. Can it be the end of school yet? She rolled her eyes, turning her attention back to her history essay.
There were a few minutes left of school and Cory watched the clock boredly, Come on, come on. I want to see her…
The bell finally rang. Marlee sent Charlie a text letting him know where she was going to be and then dumped her books in her locker. I'm so excited!
Cory calmly walked out of class and kept to the side of the hallway. He grabbed his stuff and headed outside to the front. He paused and started looking around for Marlee. I'm nervous and kinda excited…mostly nervous I don't hang out with people often.
Marlee picked her backpack up off the ground and rushed towards the front of the building. She stood on her tiptoes to look for Cory. Curse being short!
Cory noticed Marlee standing on her tiptoes looking for him, he gave a small smile and walked over to her, "Hey…" He said shyly
"Hey! Ready to go?" Marlee returned Cory's smile.
"Yeah." He nodded, "Um, let's go."
"Awesome!" Marlee grinned.
Cory started walking staying a comfortable distance from Marlee, with his hands stuffed in his hoodie pockets.
Marlee walked with a spring in her step. She was so happy that Cory agreed to join her.
Cory watched Marlee next to him as she bounced around excitedly, he smiled, "S-so where do you live at?" He asked.
"I live at the ranch, up near the farmer's market." Marlee smiled, pushing a bit of hair behind her ear. "Where do you live?"
"Neat," Cory responded, I live in a quiet neighborhood 7 blocks from the school
"Oh, I've gone running in that neighborhood, it's super pretty." Marlee replied.
"Yeah it's pretty nice," Cory responded, "I've only been to the Farmer's Market a couple times, but it's a nice place."
"So, what do you like to do around town?" Marlee asked.
Cory paused, "I don't go out much," He admitted, "I go to the library sometimes and that's about it."
"Oh, well the library's a nice place. How do you feel about riding horses?" Marlee smiled, a gleam in her eye.
Cory looked back at her, startled, "H-horses? Uh, I-i've never ridden one before, actually."
"Would you ever like to try?" Marlee asked, hopeful he'd say yes.
"S-sure," He laughed nervously, "It sounds like it could be fun."
"Awesome, do you have a certain time you need to be home today?" Marlee asked.
"Uh, no. My mom is on a business trip. She left this morning." Cory said glancing at the sky.
