On a routine journey through space to a new home, two passengers, sleeping in suspended animation, are awakened 90 years too early when their ship malfunctions. As they face living the rest of their lives on board, with every luxury they could ever ask for, they begin to fall for each other, unable to deny their intense attraction until they discover the ship is in grave danger. With the lives of 5,000 sleeping passengers at stake, only the two of them can save them all.
(I'd prefer this to be MxF, and me be the male)
Ooh this looks cool. May I join please?
Yes! Do you want a template, or would you rather go in blind?
Alright! I'm good either way, although I would like to at least know the age range before we start
Early to mid- twenties
I'll get a starter up tonight
Cold. Freezing, actually. Why was it so cold? Wait, reign check. Why was he even awake?
Winton's eyes snapped open and he jerked in shock as the glass covering of the cryogen container slid open, leaving his upright body with no support. His knees gave out and he fell straight to the floor, barely able to put his hands out to keep his face from connecting with the floor. After a moment to recover, he rolled over on to his back and looked around. No other glass panel in the hall had slid open. The glass was tinted, but not enough to obscure his view inside completely, showing the peaceful faces of his fellow passengers. No one else was awake.
The female in her cryogenic chamber began to awaken. Her chest hurt with her breathing, and her lungs felt as they were being stabbed as she began to wake up. Her toes curled, the muscles moving for the first time in years. The chamber slid open, and she crumpled, barely catching herself. She pressed her forehead to the floor, ragged gasps escaping her throat. Alexandra took a few more deep, steadying breaths.
Winston let out a groan, his voice sounding beyond raspy and hoarse. "Oh, God. This isn't good."
He rolled back onto his chest and attempted to push himself on to his feet, failing horribly. The sound of a body thumping against the ground about twenty chambers down the hall alerted his attention. He looked up and was so relieved to see another person alive he could've cried.
"H-hey!" he called, wincing. I need water.
(wait do they have clothes or no?)
Lex looked up, eyes landing on the figure down the hall. Oh thank God. "Hey." She said, voice raspy. She coughed, sitting up on her knees and sucking in lung-fulls of air. Her hair hung down into her face, and she brushed it back with a slightly shaking hand as she looked around. Wait…why weren't any of the other pods open? Why was hers and this man's the only ones open?
(Yes, just loose-fitting grey shirts and slacks)
"S-something's wrong," he said, managing to get to his feet with the help of the wall. "No one else is waking up."
He looked around with wide eyes, his knees trembling under the weight of his body. His brown hair was cut short to his head, so short it almost wasn't there. She could almost see the nervous sweat coming from his scalp.
(okay got it)
"Yeah, no shit." Lex said wryly, pushing herself to her feet and leaning on the wall. She wished she had a hair tie. Her hair wasn't long, but just long enough to get in her face. It was about chin length, now, instead of past her shoulders as it used to be. "When even…even is it? What year?" She wondered aloud, turning to look around.
He wiped his hairline, huffing as he pushed off of the wall and put all of his weight on his legs.
"Don't know…I haven't made it upstairs yet," he grunted, wobbling slightly. "I don't think we're in any condition to do so, either."
Lex nodded. "Right." she replied, swallowing. She had the faintest traces of an accent. English, maybe, or Irish, though it wasn't obvious. "So what now, then?" she forced herself to stand, taking a deep breath, and brushed her hair out of her face yet again. Her hair was a deep red, more of an auburn then a bright red. She looked over at him.
"Recover, I think," he said, rubbing the back of his head with a long sigh. "God, they never said walking up would be this rough."
"I don't think they knew…or maybe there's something wrong." Lex replied slowly. "Maybe the pods weren't supposed to just…open the way they did." She shrugged a little.
He let out a grunt, take a couple of preliminary steps before walking over to her. "I'm inclined to agree with you. I'm Winston, by the way."
Lex nodded, holding out her hand. "Right. I'm Alexandra. Call me Lex." She replied, looking at him. "It's nice to meet you." She added.
He reached his own hand out and shook her's. "So," he said, looking from one end to the hall to the other, "which way should we go?"
She sighed softly. "I…dont know. I used to be a pilot, and I'm good with computers. Find me a computer terminal, I can find us the cockpit. Find me the cockpit, I can maybe figure out what's going on."
He shrugged, the pointed to his left. "That way, I guess. Can you walk?"
Lex nodded, pushing off the wall. "Yeah. I think." She replied, starting to walk. She was a bit wobbly for a moment, then regained her balance.
"Let's just wait for a bit longer," he said, putting a hand on her shoulder.
Lex let out a breath, leaning on the wall again. "I'm fine." She replied, shrugging off his hand. "We should figure out what's going on."
