Mikhail's smile grew a bit wider. "Are you a cat now?" He asked, taking the stick.

Theo huffed in disapproval at that but didn't stop.

"I'm taking that as a no," Mikhail replied, throwing the stick far away again.

Theo again sprinted after it, skidding across the dirt. He picked it up, brought it back before shifting back into a human, panting.

Mikhail quickly bent down in front of Theo. "You okay?"

Theo nodded, grinning like crazy, “Never better.”

Mikhail chuckled, standing up and holding out a hand for Theo. "You look very tired, think you can walk?"

Theo nodded but accepted his hand as he stood, “I can, don’t worry,” He paused, bringing Mikhail into him, putting his hands on the others waist, “Now you know what I am, do you think you’d want to go on a date with me?”

Mikhail squeaked in surprise, his face heating up. "I-um-sure?" He murmured, thankful that his olive skin covered up his blush.

“Sure?” Theo raised an eyebrow, “You don’t have to, I-I just thought, you know, I’ve liked you for a while and um, I guess it’s weird since you’re my best friend but also my mate so it’s strange…” He started rambling.

Mikhail put a finger over his lips, shushing him. "Wait wait wait, you've liked me? Not because I'm your mate?"

Theo nodded, not daring to speak in case he stuttered or rambled again.

"But-why? I mean, I'm not attractive at all and I don't even have a good personality or anything," Mikhail replied, slowly letting his hand drop as he started to ramble.

This time it was Theo that put a finger to his lips, sushing him, “Now all of that is false. You’re adorable as fuck, sarcastic yet also incredibly kind. You’ve stuck by me and accept me for who I am. You amazing, don’t think otherwise.”

Mikhail's face turned red again, looking at the ground beside him shyly. "I-Thank you…"

Theo smiled and pressed a very light kiss to the top of his head, “Now, about the date. You don’t have to go, I understand if you don’t but it would be nice if you did.”

Mikhail's face turned redder at the kisses. "No, I would love to go on a date with you. By the way, I also like you…."

“I’m glad you do,” Theo replied, “If you didn’t I would be heartbroken.”

"So, when should the date be?" Mikhail asked, gently wrapping his arms around Theo.

Theo tilted his head to the side in thought, “How about… next Friday?”

Mikhail nodded. "Sure, what are we going to do though?"

Theo grinned, “Now that’s a surprise. You’ll have to wait and see.”

Mikhail chuckled. "Fine then, I'll just wait and see."

Theo chuckled with him, “Should we head home, then? Do you still want me over?”

Mikhail shrugged. "Your choice, you can even stay the night if you want to since it's pretty late already."
