"No I'm not okay. But. I'm getting there." She sighed hugged one of your pillows, burying her head into it. "Whenever you wanna sleep let me know." She shrugged and kicked her legs back and fourth lazily, enjoying the sounds of the steady thudding on the mattress. "Wait. It's only 6 in the afternoon. What the fuck are we doing, going to bed?"
"I dunno. Um…" Lyle bit his tongue, hesitation on the tip of it.
"I…The rose is there on purpose. I don't want to go further into it, though. I'm sorry I lied. I'm not ready yet, to tell people, y'know?"
"That's fine. I'm not ready to tell people all my deepest darkest fears and secrets. I get it." Suddenly her phone dinged and she literally rolled off, flipped around at the last second, and landed on her feet, and read the text."HEY! There's a party tonight to celebrate the first day of college!" She then stripped off ehr clothes, and changed into the clothes she had been wearing all day, but put on a jacket, a beanie, and flat boots, and brushed her hair. "You wanna go?" She asked as she checked herself out in the mirror and ut on some makeup, humming to herself a bit. She looked really pretty, you noticed, dressed up like this.
"Um…" Lyle was trying to think, trying not to seem distracted. "Yeah! Why not?"
Changing back into his clothes, he picked out a dark blue denim-jean jacket and wore a smile on his face. "It's been a while since I partied, so why not now?" A year, but it doesn't matter. Remember Lyle, you have a fresh start here. Make it count!
"Awesome!" She smiled and hurriedly texted away, walking out the door after grabbing her purse and triple checking her hair in the mirror. "Gods, of all the days to have a bad hair day…" She mumbled to herself as she used a comb and a hair brush to try to let it lay the best, before just grabbing a bobby pin and jamming it into her hair. "Eh, good enough." And after stuffing her bag with a few chargers and a lighter, walked off out the door, singing a bit.
Going out the door with nothing but a pen-which, upon further inspection, has a quote etched on it-that Lyle toyed with, having come out of his jacket pocket.
"So, where's this party?" Lyle was anxious above anything.
"On campus. In the…D district. Of course, where all the sex jokes probably live." She sighed. "Let's see. We are in District B…such a long waaaaaalk. Augh…wait. I have a motorbike. I brought my motorbike. Hope you don't mind pastel pink helmet, I don't gotta wear one."
"That's…fine. You have a motorbike?" Way out of your league, Lyle. He almost flinched at the thought. "Where is it?"
"Already told you, District D." She shrugged and hands you the map. "You don't mind being navigator do you?" She asks as she heads out the door and downstairs.
"I meant the motorbike…but sure!" Lyle was chipper for the moment, looking down at the map in his hands. He started to talk to himself ("So, if we're here…")
"Oh! Down in the car lot. Gotta pay like 30 bucks extra to have it on campus, but se la vie. What can ya do. I don't like driving, not enough thrill." She loops your arm with yours. "So I can walk and lead you along while you figure out where we're going." She then tugs you off along to the elevator.
"M'kay…" Don't pay attention to her, you're just friends. Just friends, Lyle. Just. Friends.
She let go of your arm in the elevator, and was to deep in her phone to pay attention to your red cheeks, when she looks up at you to say something, and laughs. "My Tomato, what's got your cheeks blooming roses?" She pats your cheek twice with a grin and another laugh.
"I'm-what? It's hot! Plus, my cheeks get red when I'm tired." Lyle said normally, when really, he was freaking the hell out.
"Uhuh. I've got 15 siblings and I have NEVER heard of red tired cheeks. Get a better lie. It's not that hot, if anything it's sort of cold in this elevator…should've brought a thicker jacket…" She stood a bit closer to you, returning to her Temple Run.
Lyle, stop. You are a normal person with normal feelings, and you cannot possibly like this girl!
He sighed, "It's a thing, believe me. Some guy-I think his name was Tyler-his cheeks were naturally red. We called him 'skinny Santa Claus'"
(Yes you can) "Haha love that. Okay naturally red means they are red all the time. But see, yours turned red…I bet it was my doing. Sorry about that, I didn't mean to embarrass you by grabbing your arm. If I do anything you don't like, please feel free to tell me. I don't wish to offend…anyways. Have you found out yet where we've gotta go?"
"Um…" Taking a quick glance at the map, Lyle nodded. "Yeah. It's about half a mile away from here, so… about a minute's drive?" Lyle shrugged.
"Huh. Wanna just walk there instead? We'll be early otherwise." She pulls up her phones camera and yet again starts messing with her hair. The reach the main entrance and she steps out of the elevator and puts away her phone.
"Yeah, why not?" Lyle smiles softly. She really cares about her appearance…
"So, do you look good for other people, or look good for yourself?"
"Other people. I don't really care what I look like, but parties do have standards. Except my hair. It's the one thing I like about myself." She nodded once as she walked off, grabbing the map from you and studying a it bit. "Okay yeah, not to far."
(Time skip? I don't have many ideas atm…)
(naw. I've got it all planned out for the party. Maybe she kisses you drunkenly, we'll see)
(Okay! Sorry for this short reply!)
"What's your favorite color?" Lyle asks after a few beats of silence pass.
(tis chill) "Pink. Yours?" She asks as she keeps going, dancing along to the music in her heart as she hummed and twirled around, but soon was dancing to the music pouring out of one of the dorm houses.
