Welcome back.
I have too many rp’s.
Let’s keep up the trend and start another, hm?
Rule time (because I know we all love em):
Little bit ‘o rules:
- Do what you’re comfortable with— I’m alright with anything.
- Explicit language welcome as long as it’s not insulting another writer. Between characters or among situations, feel free
- Please have at least ok grammar. I get that sometimes people don’t— heck, I don’t most of the time— but please try.
- No controlling the other’s character (no gm)
- Please respond with actual content, I don’t want to have to keep the story going myself.
- Have your character act more than react.
- I’d enjoy it if you didn’t just up and leave. Tell me first— It’s alright, you have a life. Take your time, but let me know :)
- You don’t have to match my passage lengths, but please try to refrain from one-liners.
- Have fun, my dude
And last of all, come with your prompt ideas! I’m looking for mainly the romance genre with possible others mixed in. I have some prompts too, if needed. Character templates will be sorted once someone joins. I’ll probably ask for a writing sample if I haven’t been with you before. And I’ll probably say yes, just wanna know what I’m working with :)
I'm interested? And I can grab a sample if you want ^^ I'm not sure whether or not you've seen my writing style around aha
I sure have, so don’t worry about it (can’t remember which one I read your style in? but that’s fine). And of course, welcome aboard!
Alrighty! Thank you! What prompts did you have?
I can go grab them— although I’m currently busy at the moment so I’m not sure if I’ll be able to get back soon. I’ll post them as soon as I can :)
oh boy, sorry that took so long! Here are some prompts I have:
-
<Character 1> is a lesser god, perhaps of one of the forgotten practices of mankind. And when gods aren’t very important anymore… they get sent to the Maelatin Manor, aka a giant house where every forgotten god goes to to live out the rest of eternity. Although, what goes on within the Maelatin Manor is regulated by higher gods, and when <Character 1> does something against the regulations, it catches major god <Character 2>‘s eye. From there, you can probably guess.
-
The story takes place in an ancient world, where gods still walk the earth right next to humans. When someone dies, their soul has potential to become a god’s associate— essentially helping the god complete whatever prayers in exchange for an elongated life. Gods go to recruit spirits— lowly gods normally not getting the best ones, if any. <Character 1> has died. Unfortunately, the only god who noticed was a lowly god with, like, 3 worshipers, aka <Character 2>.
why are these all having to do with gods what
I had some others but they aren’t really ones I’m interested in workshopping. If you have any ideas too let me know :)
Ooh, I kinda like number 2 :)
I'm totally down to have a God themed roleplay if you want to! I've got a roleplay kind of like that already going on
Alrighty, 2 works for me :). Have any preference on which character you’d like?
Sure. Should I go grab a temp?
Yep! What kind of character dynamic do you think would work well?
No clue, really. Which dynamic do you prefer? I’m alright with any. (And I should practice writing any lol)
Well, most of my characters are kinda demanding lol. They like attention. If we want sass and probably an evil God, Scipio is definitely the way to go
I was thinking about making up my own god but do we want to do preexisting ones? And that actually works because a lot of my characters I had lined up are stupidly sassy sarcastic and protective
Making up your own god is totally fine! Feel free to :>
Alrighty. Let me go grab the template :D
Sounds good! Do you have a specific age range you're looking for? Scipio is usually 18 or 19
Full Name:
Aliases:
Age:
Race: (god or human)
Occupation(s)/Job(s): (for human: before death) (for god: what they do now)
Physical Desc:
Apparel/Gear:
Personality:
Habits/Mannerisms:
Hobbies:
Backstory: (for human: how they died) (for god: how they were created)
18-19 works. For the god I was going to have them be… a couple million years by celestial standpoint, but only having the mental capacity of like a 19 year old
Full Name: Scipio Alesso Ricci
Aliases: Scip (pronounced like Skype. He typically won't respond to this)
Age: 18
Race: Human
Occupation(s)/Job(s): Army veteran
Physical Desc: Scipio stands at about 5'9 and is pretty thin. His skin is tanned, though pale for an Italian, and he has icy blue eyes. His hair is black and swept smoothly to the side. (Uhh that's all I'm thinking of at the moment, but feel free to ask if you want more lol)
Apparel/Gear: Assuming he's wearing what he died in, an army uniform
Personality: Scipio is a charming asshole all the way. He is a psychopath and typically does things for his own benefit, and he's difficult to convince to do things for others. He doesn't experience guilt and only limited empathy, but he's gotten very good at pretending in order to get what he wants. His moral code is a roulette wheel and even if he contradicts himself, he will always be right in his own mind. He's also a snarky asshole and I love him
Habits/Mannerisms: He gets incredibly antsy when he's bored. He needs to be stimulated somehow most of the time and he hates to sit still. Petting his hair is his reset switch in a way, but he's not going to admit it. He can assist be very destructive when he's angry, but it's difficult to get him to that point
Hobbies: He doesn't have much time for hobbies, and considering that killing his people is his job and he enjoys it, that could be considered his hobby.
Backstory: Scipio was killed in battle, simply enough. He was shot through the heart (if marks are still visible on him after death and such down here). He lied about his age when he was sixteen and joined the army so that he could satiate his urges to kill without worrying about being arrested. He'd only ever killed animals before then, and he'd found himself to be quite good at it.
Full Name: Xellis, God of Travel
Aliases: The Wanderer / Fernweh
Age: 6.5 million years / Human equivalent of 19
Race: Celestial / Deity
Occupation(s)/Job(s): Recruiting spirits to join their house. In these times, Gods go around searching for lost spirits and offering them a house, aka a place beside them. In turn, the spirits help the gods with prayers they have to answer.
Physical Desc: Looking younger than he really is, his celestial appearance has him adorned with bright reddish-gold hair and a pilot’s cap. Equipped with too many packs and supplies, as well as a vast number of belts holding canisters of scrolls and maps, Xellis is ready to go wherever, whenever. He has bright golden eyes and sort of light copper skin, always wearing a tricky crooked smile. He is also always depicted as having a compass in one hand, a scope in the other, and a quill behind his ear. Although, in real life, he keeps his scope and compass within one of the packs on his belt.
Apparel/Gear: He has a small bag mimic named Arci, who’s stomach can hold any item, regardless of size or weight. Its tongue acts as a belt and its eyes are buttons.
Personality: Certified Mood Swing Central. Closed off and entirely sarcastic, Xellis is a tricky guy to deal with. He tries to act suave but it’s easy to get under his skin. If you’re a hard one to crack, he will devote his entire being to do so, and he can be extremely stubborn. He “hates” everything that has to do with showing true emotion, but if he grows close enough to another person, perhaps he’ll debate on whether to let them in or not. He doesn’t care about his level or position as a god, and he is in fact quite immature in regards to his job. He loves discovering new things and going to new places, and acts completely romanticized and cultured, although he’s truly quite ignorant. Xellis isn’t a stranger to flirting, and has a strong connection to the mortal world and human feeling. He feels at home in the somewhat petty and egotistic world of humans.
Habits/Mannerisms: When he’s nervous, he’ll try his best not to show it but his clenched fists and locked jaw will say otherwise. Overall, Xellis flows elegantly, and he walks with a sense of pride despite his status.
Hobbies: Playing tricks on people, even though he isn’t the god of trickery / traveling and discovering new things / learning about other cultures and history / socializing
Backstory: He works under the celestial being Zayanzar, the Goddess of Culture and Worldly Socialism. She created him as a minor conduit of transportation, but with technological advancements in the mortal plane, humans stopped worshipping Xellis for “safe travels.” With the modernization, pleas for Xellis were lost. Instead, humans just began to worship Zayanzar, soon forgetting Xellis even existed. Now, Xellis has about zero souls in his house, and is looking for more.
