Sheena stood at the top, still holding the candle aloft.
Sheena stood at the top, still holding the candle aloft.
“Wonder what’s up here.” Cliff looked around in the dim candlelight, hands in his back pockets.
"Let's find out." She said, walking down the hall.
“I’m hopin’ it’s worth squeezin’ through those stairs for, but I guess if th’ downstairs is any indicator, it is.” Cliff shrugged, following after Sheena.
Sheena nodded, stopping at one door, slowly opening the door.
Cliff tensed slightly as Sheena opened the door, eyeing it with an air of distrust.
"There's just some cots in here… that's good to know…" She mumbled.
“Alrigh’, so we don’t have to sleep on the floor or leave the place.. not to sleep, ‘t least.” Cliff nodded, peering in the room as well.
"At least…" She said, continuing down the hall.
Cliff ran his fingers through his buzzed hair, staying quiet as they walked. He had a lot to process- the magic, the fact that they were definitely wanted criminals (and thus couldn’t exactly go outside), all of it sat balled up in his mind.
"So… this is wild." Sheena said, biting her lip.
“I’s a lot to process.” Cliff admitted, laughing just a bit. “We can’t really leave here, can we? Not right now, at least.”
"Maybe wait for things to die down a bit…" She said, nodding.
“Who knows how long that could be, though? This fuckin’ government don’t forget jack shit.” Cliff grumbled, hands back in his pockets.
"But they'll find something else, and patrols here will die down." She said, opening another door.
“..True. I guess you got a point there, yeah.” Cliff looked inside the new room. “What’s in this one?”
"…Instuments." She said, stepping in.
“More? Wow.” Cliff followed after Sheena, taking in the room. “Jesus christ..”
Sheena nodded, going to lean against the wall, only for something blunt to poke her neck. "What-?"
“What is it?” Cliff was on the other side of the room now, crouched next to another guitar- an acoustic one, this time.
Sheena turned around, flicking a switch, watching the lights turn on. "Finally found a light switch…."
Cliff stood. “Thank god, that candlelight was only goin’ so far.” He took in the room in the full light now, eyebrows raised.
Sheena nodded, looking around. "That's a lotta stuff."
“Ain’t it? How in the hell does one person gather up this much stuff? Especially ‘cause it’s all illegal, too.” Cliff shook his head, still in awe.
"Maybe… they had it before?" She asked softly, playing around with a bass.
