"Oh don't remind-" Before he could finish he tripped and started to fall. But before he could drag Amrua down with him, he let go and shot his hands out, bursts of ice stopping him from falling too far, "Fuck."

amrua jumped at first, diving to save him, but rocked back on his heels as soon as a blast of cold wind swept from the ice. he watched with interest, idly offering a hand to help get kyle rebalanced. as soon as he was, he cocked an eyebrow playfully
"ice powers? i should've known. how fun!"
his eyes sparkled and the ever-present fatigued look lifted for just a moment.
"so you've got a bit of supernatural in you too!"

Kyle rolled his eyes with a small sigh but smiled, "Yeah yeah, I know. Come on, we're here now."

"oh, we are?"
he looked ahead, smiling a bit when he saw the cafe growing ever closer.
as soon as they walked in, his eyes widened in wonder.
"wow. surprisingly cute. i like these lights!"

(All good, it happens)

Kyle smiled softly, "Yeah, it is pretty cute." A waiter came over and led them to a table.

as they seated themselves, amrua absently laid a hand over kyle's. he hummed, looking over the menu.
"what do you recommend?"

Kyle curled his hand around Amrua's, cheeks slightly pink, "The chicken enchilada's are good, same with the any of the pasta's."

"huh. guess i'll get that, then. i haven't much knowledge of human food, other than the cheap shit i eat." he waited until the wait came over and placed his order quickly, gently squeezing kyle's hand. he was still a bit nervous around most humans.

Kyle squeezed back as he placed his own order and soon enough, the waiter was gone. He sighed softly then turned back to Amrua, “Easy as. Everyone here is so nice.”

amrua watched the waiter go for a second longer, and then nodded. "that's good to know. thanks for taking me here, by the way." amrua quieted for a bit, wondering how to make conversation. the silence wasn't awkward, per se, but it wasn't quite comfortable yet.

Kyle smiled at the other, "Hey, don't mention it. I haven't been here for a while and it's nice to share it with someone I like."
