Wham!

Hunter felt an exploding pain on the side of her face as her opponent hit her. Stars flashed in her vision, and she staggered back, raising a hand to her cheek and wincing. The crowd roared, cheering the other fighter along. Her opponent, a big brute with the fighter name of Bear, laughed, his ugly face leering into a smile, showing several missing teeth. "I don't think you can handle this, honey," he said, smirking. "Why don't you leave the fighting to the big boys and go play tea party."

Hunter scowled, shaking herself out, ignoring the twinge of pain from her side, from other fights she had fought tonight. She clearly wasn't n her best game tonight, she thought ruefully. This guy was good, but not that good.

And he clearly didn't know who she was.

Or what she could do.

Blinking, a film settled over her eyes, and gold and crimson sparks flashed and came to settle on the man. The red ones formed a picture of a dead little girl of about seven, saying, "It's all your fault." The gold sparks settled on his body, glowing brightly on the stomach, back of neck and knees.

Hunter went for the golden areas. She lashed out her fist, tightly wrapped in black wraps, and punched him in the gut, right on top of one of the bigger gold sparks. He gave an oof and doubled over, the air going out of him, and she kicked his knees, making him fall.

She crouched next to him. "I don't even like tea."

His snarled as much as he could with little air, and she smiled sweetly. Reaching behind his neck and leaning close, as if to kiss him, she whispered, "And I never lose." She pinched the back of his neck. His back arched, and he went still.

Silence.

And then the crowd cheered wildly. "And Lover wins another match! That's 6 won tonight to 0 losses! Let's give it up for the all time champion, Lover!"

Hunter stood, ignoring the pain in her side. She wiped hair from her sweaty forehead and sent them her signature smirk. Glowing lights covered the crowd, and she blinked them away, the film lifting. She walked over to the barracks, sat down on a bench, and guzzled down water. She wiped sweet from her face and neck and unwrapped her bloody hands.

"Gonna fight anymore tonight?" Fixer asked.

She shook her head. "Nah. Already made a bunch. Don't need anymore right now."

He looked slightly disappointed. "Ah, well. We can't have everything. Nice job out there."

She nodded in thanks and stood, pulling on her jacket over her tank top. "Well, I'm out. Make sure they put the money in my account."

Without waiting for a reply, she slid out the back entrance, closing the softly. A soft breeze cooled her, and she shoved her hands in her pockets, and started to walk home.

Before the tugging in her gut started.

A portal was forming.

(Sorry, it was long. I'm just bored and have nothing better to do with my life.)

(Nice!)

Kye ducked out of the way of the giant club as it sailed by his head. He then hopped away like a jackrabbit off of several beams in the middle of the room landing in a crouched position facing his opponent again. A giant in his caves, that was causing problems not only for him, but was threatening the lives of the people living on the surface, and the ones living below it. His task was to get rid of it. And he'd already tried talking it into leaving. It had tried to rip him in half when he tried that. So he was left with only the violent means.
Would dropping the cave ceiling on it's head be effective?
Would you be able to get out in time?
Maaaaaaybeeeee…..
Then noooo.
Imma do it.
If you were just going to do it why did you ask for my opinion?
I dunno.
He moved around the cave placing little piles of some sort of powder by the bases of some of the pillars in the cave room. The giant swung at him and narrowly missed him again. Then he came to a stop directly in front of it holding his lit torch. "Nice to meet you, however I am afraid our greetings will half to be cut short," He gave a slight bow and then threw his torch at one of the pillars with the powder and turned to start running away. Seconds later he felt and heard the explosion, and things started collapsing. Unfortunately they were collapsing much faster than he'd anticipated and he was now having to dodge falling stones. Not only that but the giant was giving chase causing the cave to collapse even faster.
Kye thought he might have been getting away when he was struck by the giant's club, sending him careening into the wall. But that's when everything when silent. Eerily silent. He moved and hissed in pain. "Oh, that is a rib out of place," he snapped. Fighting through the pain he sat up and looked around. Unsure of where the heck he was.

@PrettyLittlePyro

Hunter cursed as the glow of the portal lit the street, casting it in an eerie glow. She didn't even have her stuff! With some very loud words not fit for young ears, she darted back into the fighting building, picking up several loose weapons laying over the place: a knife, brass knuckles and a staff. Then she turned.

She felt a tugging sensation and suddenly appeared in a system of caves. She glared at the space around her as if it had personally done something to offend her, and shivered. "It had to be here, didn't it?"

She pulled her jacket closer around her and stuffed her weapons onto her jacket pocket, holding the staff carefully. Her combat boots made more noise than she wanted on the cold stone floor and she winced. When she found whoever she was trying to find, she would bring them to the hut, and get new shoes. She had some backup supplies at the tree house, but she usually preferred a head start knowing what she would need.

Sighing, she moved through the cave tunnels, her breath loud in her own ears, heart pounding. It's not going to collapse on you. It's not, she told herself fiercely, although her traitorous eyes still managed to find all the weak spots and cracks along the walls and ceiling. Closing her eyes and grinding the heel of her hand against her eyes, she shook her head.

"Get a grip on yourself, Hunter," she scolded herself. "You wimp."

She came into a larger area and spotted a guy against the far wall. Her eyes hardened. Of course it was male. Of course.

@Echo_6 group

Kye shifted and cursed as pain radiated through him. He would need someone to help him put his rib back into place, sooner rather than later. He would just need to make it to the surface to get help from the ninja.
That is assuming you're still on Htrae.
I am being hopeful.
Considering you were in a cave that was collapsing with a giant, and now you are in a totally different cave with someone standing quietly across from you, I find it pretty unlikely.
Yeah probably so. Should I talk to the person, speaking of which, or should I wait for them to come to me?
I don't know, It's up to you.
You are soooo much help.
I do try. Thank you for noticing.

@PrettyLittlePyro

What was he doing here? Why did the gods send a male to her? It was as if they hated her. Scowling, Hunter glared at the figure. Why wasn’t he getting up? She realized that he was hurt and sighed, stalking toward him, her boots making a lot of noise on the cold stone.

She stood over him. He looked a few years older than her outward appearance age, with spiky white hair and pale skin. He wasn’t dressed like an earthling, which was a relief, but only a slight one. He had weapons on him, as far as she could see, and carried a satchel. His eyes opened, revealing violet pupils, and Hunter jumped.

Wiping away any emotion from her face other than irritation and impatience, she bent over him again. “What’s wrong?” She tried to sound concerned, but probably sounded annoyed. She wanted to back away, every nerve screaming to get away from him, but she ignored it. “Do you need medical attention?”

@Echo_6 group

Kye was wrapping his hand, which had some cuts on it. He didn't look up at the woman, who sounded pretty annoyed by his presence. "Yeah," he grunted, finishing his wrap. Then he looked up at her. (Forgive me I have forgotten what she looks like.) "I would be lost and I have a dislocated rib. That or it is broken. I can not be completely sure of either," he explained, lightly tapping a finger on his injured rib.
She seems in a good mood.
To be fair though, I am not usually in the best mood when people drop out of nowhere into my caves.
Sure I guess but even you tend to be a little nicer than this.
You are not being very nice right now. I am going to give her the benefit of the doubt.

@PrettyLittlePyro

(I have a character thing of her on my profile page, but she has blonde hair and silver eyes… I changed her up a bit. It's fine lol)

Hunter sighed and rolled her eyes. She had to nurse him to health, too? She held out a hand. "Can you at least walk? I know of a better place to help… fix you up, and this is not the place." She wrinkled her nose in self-disgust. "Forgot my gear." She straightened, waiting for him to except her help up. She didn't bother to ask his name or anything, as she didn't really care, and didn't want to care.

The sound of crunching footsteps echoed through the cave, and she tensed even more. "I hate caves," she muttered. She listened, and panic filled her face before she wiped it away. "Come on," she said impatiently. "It's dangerous in these caves when it's dark."

@Echo_6 group

Kye listened to the footsteps and shrugged. "If it is dangerous in the dark than I will just make it light," he reached into his pack and pulled out a torch. In one clean movement he had it lit and burning. "And yes I can walk." He pulled himself to his feet despite the pain and looked at Hunter waiting to go.

@PrettyLittlePyro

She pursed her lips when he avoided her hand. He was one of the 'strong' ones, then. She held the staff carefully in her hand, loose, ready to swing. "This way," she said, moving quickly through the caves, trying to go as fast as possible. She quieted her footsteps best she could and stepped carefully onto the rock.

They emerged from the caves a few minutes later, and she breathed a sigh of relief.The sky shown with stars, familiar to her as her own face. "This way," she said. She led him into a strand of trees. "And stay quiet, stepping only where I step." Hunter carefully stepped onto the hidden plates of stone she had placed when she was making her hideout. They walked for about twenty minutes before she stopped in front of a large tree. A large house sat high in the branches, dark and foreboding.

Still without saying anything, she pulled a branch, and a ladder lowered. "After you," she said with a mock bow.

@Echo_6 group

Kye stayed where he was. "Apologies ma'am, but I was always taught ladies first," he explained.
I will laugh so hard if she says "Then after you."
You would laugh at something like that you child.

@PrettyLittlePyro

Hunter raised an eyebrow. Geez, what was with this guy. "I did say after you, didn't I?' She asked, in a rare moment of amusement. "You're the lady among us."

@Echo_6 group

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!
Child.
I knew she was gonna say something like that!
Good for you. You are officially a child.
He sighed and shook his head, but wasn't going to keep arguing with her as it would do no one any good. So he started up the ladder. Making a conscious effort to not look down as he got up higher.

@PrettyLittlePyro

Hunter followed after him, the ladder retreating behind her. When she got to the top, she opened the door for the guy. Inside, it was simple, just a bed, a chest, and a ladder leading up to the loft. She headed toward the chest, opening it and pulling out some medical supplies.

@Echo_6 group

"Um, you probably will not need those," Kye commented. He pulled his red sweatshirt off revealing the black tshirt under it. It was a skin tight tshirt showing his small, but muscled, torso. He set his sweatshirt and his pack down next to him. His hands we both wrapped up in what looked like some sort of tape, but they were soft like wool. They almost looked like the were wrapped for boxing. Aside from his black tshirt shirt he was also wearing dark gray cargo pants, and knee high soft leather boots.

@PrettyLittlePyro

Asshole, Hunter thought, a little annoyed. She didn't comment on his choice of outfit. She tossed the medical stuff back into the chest, crossing her arms. "You're sleeping up there," she said, tone irritated, gesturing to the loft. "Tomorrow, we're going to find out why you were sent here, or some shit like that. Can you wake up early?" She didn't wait for an answer. "Good. Because we need to leave before first light." She wanted to blink her eyes, to see his weaknesses and make him feel the way she did, but she didn't. Some small, hidden kernel of kindness, prevented her.

@Echo_6 group

Kye looked at Hunter evenly. He could feel a strong sense of dislike coming from her and wasn't sure why. "My apologies ma'am, but I have done something to offend you?" He asked politely. "I noticed that you seem to dislike me a lot. And if I have offended you in some way, I apologize. As for the getting up early, I am usually up long before the sun on a daily basis, so yes."

@Echo_6 group

Kye nodded, sort of tipped his head but didn't break eye contact until Hunter continued doing whatever she'd been doing. "Also did you say that we needed to figure out why I was here? Because if I remember correctly, I was fighting a giant, in a cave that was collapsing, got hit by said giant, and hit the wall here. That surprisingly enough is a common thing for me to have happen. Usually it happens when someone needs my help saving the world or whatever. Probably not you because from what I have seen, you could save the planet on your own."

@PrettyLittlePyro

She snorted. "Not bloody likely," she muttered. "But yeah," she said, louder, to him, "you're here to save the world. Welcome to the lovely land of Elenava, the questing world. It sucks here, and you'll most likely find your 'true self', or some crap like that, blah blah blah. Honestly, I'm not even going to try to do the welcome talk. It's no use."
