Opals POV
Opal blushed instantly and tried responding. “But, I’m-I’m a hero, I can’t, I couldn’t… I think.” Opal stopped, blushing even more at her own words.

Sienna’s POV
“Darling, heroes aren’t real. Neither are villains. We’re all just humans making our stupid little mistakes.” She soothed, smiling sadly at Opal, her eyes filled with pity. “It’s all about the method, when it should be about the intention. Let your heart guide you.”
Alecs POV
Alec sighed in defeat. “Yeah, I guess I should have invested into one of those.” He sighed as the reporter made his way in front of them.”Ah-Ha, Alec Charpentier, I knew it was you! Tell me, what are you doing here. Did I you finally decide to tell me you story?” He noticed Mirage, and her badge. “Wow a super, rarely get to meet one of you guys. I’m Hester Field, Ace reporter for the local gazzete. Were you the one who caught Outlet, and if so, can I interview him for my article?”
Ae-Ri
Ae-Ri glowered at the reported through her tinted visor and crossed her arms. “Yes, I caught him, and no, you cannot interview him.”
Winston’s POV
A bright smile made its way onto Winston’s face. Although—yes, his vision wasn’t the greatest, he could still see the blatant serenity on Remedy’s face. The urge to join Sammy in cuddling against his new friend was almost irrepressible. Friends cuddle friends all the time, right? That’s not weird… right?
When Anthony realized what he was doing in public, he yanked his fingers away from Samuel’s scalp as if he had been burned. He didn’t dare look back at Winston, afraid of what he might see, so he simply straightened his back and pushed the grotesque’s head away.
Winston’s POV
Winnie watched silently as Anthony suddenly shoved Sam away, his peaceful expression vanishing like morning mist. He let out a soft sigh. “Are you okay?” He called out quietly, biting at the nail on his thumb. He expected to get yelled at for the question and had begun to brace himself accordingly.
Anthony inhaled sharply, balling his hands into fists. A scowl overtook his features. What had he been thinking, to soften so drastically?
“I’m fine,” he snapped, fixing his gaze to the window beside him.
No you’re not… Winston didn’t dare reply, suppressing the urge to comfort Remedy. He softly whistled, trying to get Sam’s attention so he could at least comfort one of the two.
The creature whined, swinging his head towards Anthony as if asking for permission. When he didn’t respond, Sam took it as an affirmative answer and shuffled closer to Winston.
Winston smiled softly, coddling Sam to make himself feel better. He took the creature’s head into his lap much like Anthony had done, humming a soft melody to it.
Before long, the bus pulled into a stop at the very end of the line. Anthony stood abruptly and pushed his way to the doors without pausing to check that Winston was following.
Winston sighed and got up, whispering ”Sorry, Sammy.” to the grotesque on his lap before ambling after Remedy. He stepped off the bus and looked around curiously. “Don’t think I’ve ever been over here before.” He mumbled, taking in his new surroundings.
“Far side of town,” Anthony muttered in response, placing his mask over his face. “You ready? Pee before we go in, please.”
Winston stifled laughter, raising an eyebrow at Remedy in surprise. “I think that’s the most concerned you’ve ever been for me.” He replied, unable to hide his amused smile.
Anthony’s eyes darkened. Without looking back, he reached out with his power and took control of Winston’s legs. “Do you have to go, or not?”
Winston let out a startled yelp. “I’m fine! I’m fine!” He protested, panicking quite a bit now that he couldn’t control his legs.
“Good.” Anthony relinquished his control on the boy’s limbs and pointed towards a building in the distance, broken down and surrounded by a chain link fence. “That’s where we need to be.”
Winnie gulped nervously, eyeing the building. “And… And we know this isn’t a trap right?” He murmured, taking out his staff. He felt a bit more secure with it clenched in his hands.
“Nope.”
Anthony strode towards the building, skirting the length of the chain link fence until he found a wide enough opening. Without waiting for Winston, he slipped through and left three grotesques to guard the perimeter.
Winnie quickly followed behind, unwilling to be left alone. He ducked through the opening, crouching down due to his tall stature. “That building doesn’t look stable…” He murmured, taking shaky breaths as they approached it.
“It isn’t,” he replied coolly, slipping his handgun from a pouch at his belt, “Which is why we need to be fast. Can you radio Mission Control and ask if they can narrow down the location of the signal?”
Winston nodded, doing as he was told and raising his hand to the earpiece. “Firefly, reporting in with Remedy. We need y’all to narrow down the signal.” He chewed his lower lip as he waited for a response.
”Firefly, this is Viper picking up your call. Signal appears to be underneath the building, but it’s exact location is unclear. We’re working on zoning in, but it may take a few. Be careful down there.”
“We’ll be careful. Thanks, Viper.” Winnie smiled, disconnecting the earpiece. “Remedy, They’re sayin’ it’s underground.” He called out to the other boy.
“Fantastic,” he muttered, motioning for Winston to follow as he crept around a pile of debris. “Ask where the building is most and least stable.”
Winston obediently touched the earpiece again. “Viper, stability report?” He purpose lowered his voice to sound cooler, excited about the secret agent-like language he got to use. Viper sounded equally as amused as she responded.
“Top floors are highly unstable, along with the right half of the bottom floor. It seems like the building is sinking into the ground. There could be a sinkhole opening up underneath the building. I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s where our agent is.”
Winstin thanked her and relayed the information to Remedy.
“Alright, here’s the plan,” Anthony began. “You follow my lead. Since you’re the flashlight, I’m going to need you to lead the way. Walk as close to the walls as possible, that’s where the floor will be the most stable. Report everything back to me.”
Winston nodded tentatively. “I’ll try…” He replied nervously, chewing his lip as he approached the entrance of the building.
