Opals POV
Opal blushed and began shifting with the aclets of her sweater. “Thank you Pasithea, but I wouldn’t know what to do with that
Sienna’s POV
“Worry a little less, darling. There’s no need for it.” Sienna soothes calmly, looking around the restaurant with mild interest.
Opals POV
Opal smiled at Pasitheas response..“I guess I could worry less, but how do you seem so, confident, and well put together?” Opal took a look at herself, she was about to take life advice from a master criminal. Did she really need it? Yes, yes she did.
Winston murmured a gentle ”Sorry.” again, his voice cracking a little. He walked a bit faster, sticking close to Samuel for comfort.
Anthony grit his teeth. Why was this boy so upset over a simple comment? They were on a mission, for God’s sake. Someone’s life was at stake. There was no place for humming or singing…. no matter how beautiful his voice was.
Alec’s POV
Alec smiled. “That’s great, I know a couple of places, one is right nearby,” He trailed off, seeing the head of an all to familiar reporter in the path of one. “But the other is closer!” He finished and turned pointing away from the reporter.
Winston looked around the street as they walked. He had no idea where they were going, only that it was dark. Although he was starting to regret not going home to cook and sing in peace while he had the chance.
Sienna’s POV
Sienna broke into a smile, withholding a laugh. “It’s all about presentation. I can teach you a bit if you’d like.”
Ae-Ri’s POV
Ae-Ri frowned at him, unaware of the rapidly approaching reporter. “Did you hit your head while I wasn’t looking?”
Anthony’s POV
Anthony released a long sigh, coming to a stop in front of a large bus. “Come on, the next 421 won’t come for fifteen minutes..”
Winnie stopped behind Remedy, taking in there surroundings. He hadn’t quite regained the courage to talk yet, but he seemed to loosen up a little bit.
Opals POV
Opals mood brightened. “Really? Thank you.” She looked around, and smiled more genuinely.
Winnie stopped behind Remedy, taking in there surroundings. He hadn’t quite regained the courage to talk yet, but he seemed to loosen up a little bit.
They boarded the bus and took a seat in the very back. Naturally, Anthony turned heads. People glimpsed the plague doctor’s mask he’d now fixed to his face and shuddered. They knew what it symbolized; they knew who he was. The long trail of grotesques behind him didn’t exactly help matters, either.
Alecs POV
“No,” Alec answered quickly. “But even if I did, I wouldn’t remember if it was hard enough.” He rushedly joked. “But we should probably hurry if we want to find your friend.” He gestured towards the direction of the Mexican restaurant. But before he could take a step, he knew he was too late as a nasally voice called out. “Alec. Alec Charpentier!”
Sienna’s POV
“Another day I’ll take you out. Shopping, makeup, the works. Tonight we’ll try things out.” Sienna decided, talking more to herself than to Opal.

Winston’s POV
Winnie hated the looks. A few were directed him him. Some worried, others disgusted as he obediently followed in Anthony’s wake, his head down to avoid attention.
Alecs POV

I raised an eyebrow, turning my head in the direction of the unfamiliar voice. “Someone you know?”
Anthony’s POV
Anthony didn’t pay the other passengers any mind. He merely sat in his seat, permitting Samuel to lay his head across his lap (just this once), letting his gaze drift to the window.
“Oh, okay.” Opal said, before realizing that she needed to stick with her in order to arrest her. “Wait, no, I have to stay with you until I can arrest you.” When that will be I don’t know, she thought to herself, but if I don’t I couldn’t even go back without doing this.
Winston watched from where he crammed himself in the corner of the seat, focused on the way Remedy let Sam snuggle up against him. It wa surprisingly kind, the most gentle Winston had seen the other boy. He didn’t want to disturb them, so he continued to keep his mouth shut, turning away and leaning back against the seat.
“No,” Alec replied, wondering if escaping now was in his best interest. “But we should probably hurry.” He said as the man came within a couple of steps from them, a small crowd mercifully keeping the reporter at bay a few seconds longer.

As the minutes passed, Anthony’s mind wandered, no longer focused on upholding the tough facade he’d created. As a result of his carelessness, his finger began to move in his little brother’s hair, stroking it in such a soothing manner that the poor creature released a small sigh of contentment.

Ae-Ri
“Oh, god..” she muttered, grabbing hold of his arm and pulling him in the opposite direction. “This is why I wear a mask.”
“Oh, okay.” Opal said, before realizing that she needed to stick with her in order to arrest her. “Wait, no, I have to stay with you until I can arrest you.” When that will be I don’t know, she thought to herself, but if I don’t I couldn’t even go back without doing this.
Sienna’s POV
“We’re still doing that?” Sienna rolled her eyes. “Sweetheart, I hate to be the bringer of bad news, but that’s not going to happen.”
As the minutes passed, Anthony’s mind wandered, no longer focused on upholding the tough facade he’d created. As a result of his carelessness, his finger began to move in his little brother’s hair, stroking it in such a soothing manner that the poor creature released a small sigh of contentment.
Winnie adjusted himself at the sound of the peaceful sigh, turning back to face Remedy. His eyes widened as he saw Remedy stroking Sam’s hair. He let the sun warm up his back, his eyelids drooping as the peaceful sight filled him with warmth. I didn’t even know he was capable of this.
Alecs POV
Alec sighed in defeat. “Yeah, I guess I should have invested into one of those.” He sighed as the reporter made his way in front of them.
”Ah-Ha, Alec Charpentier, I knew it was you! Tell me, what are you doing here. Did I you finally decide to tell me you story?” He noticed Mirage, and her badge. “Wow a super, rarely get to meet one of you guys. I’m Hester Field, Ace reporter for the local gazzete. Were you the one who caught Outlet, and if so, can I interview him for my article?”
Anthony
The gentle sunlight smoothed the hard lines from his face, leaving it with such an unusually peaceful expression that it surprised even the grotesques. But he paid them no mind, continuing in his motions.
Opals POV
“Yes we’re still doing that, if I don’t arrest you then I can’t go back to, well anywhere.” Opal replied.
Winston’s POV
A bright smile made its way onto Winston’s face. Although—yes, his vision wasn’t the greatest, he could still see the blatant serenity on Remedy’s face. The urge to join Sammy in cuddling against his new friend was almost irrepressible. Friends cuddle friends all the time, right? That’s not weird… right?
Sienna’s POV
“You could come back with me.” Sienna rested her elbows on the table, leaning forward suggestively.
