The land of Issorim is filled with creatures that people from this world would consider unbelievable. Ghouls, therianthropes, naga, griffins, hippogriffs, harpies… all sorts of creatures. Though people in Issorim have learned more on these creatures, not everyone is informed on how to fight these creatures. Ward them off maybe..but killing one is another story.

And again - the variety in them. Danger levels. Maybe a common farmer could take care of a few wild dogs - but a dragon? One of the most dangerous beasts there is!

The Kingdom - or country, of Raetus, is one of many in Issorim. Yet it is the largest, possibly most powerful of all. It has several towns, cities, whatever you want to call them. Wolford, a town noted to be located in the ‘danger ring’, is high in population. Yet most of its population would be third class, middle class - the commoners, whatever you wish. The people who can’t afford to leave Wolford. Sure, it’s protected. But you can’t walk too far from the town itself. Herbalism? Becomes risky work when you go out into the woods to fetch some herbs, only for a Dire Wolf to come across you.
Even hunting the creatures to tame their populations becomes tougher work.

Back to our creatures, not all are hunted - though come are more..disliked, let’s say. Therianthropes, for example - werecats, werewolves, wereanimals, or former wereanimals; ‘cured’ as they say - feared, cast off as weird. Some can be feral of course, but not all are bad. Some take measures to make sure they don’t hurt others, some learn how to control their abilities.

Cyclops as well aren’t too bad. Some species, worse than others. But smaller species? Work as blacksmiths in human civilizations.

Then you have the Lich. Something different all together. Now, no one knows if the Lich are still around. No ones seen a Lich in over two centuries give or take - only rumoured, like the boy who cried Dire Wolf. But Lich - portrayed as beings of evil, usually. It’s never been recorded for Lich to be good creatures. But who knows. Two centuries have gone by - if there are any left, maybe they’ve changed? Or not. Lich shouldn’t be confused for Living Skeletons either.

And of course, demons. Demons, originally, don’t wander the top of the world. They need to be freed. By anything. Any chance, they’ll get. Some demons look like humans, others look like indescribable horrors. Demons can also be fought and sent back to wherever they came from. Or killed, a harder feat.

In the village of Wolford, life is hard. But it becomes even harder when a Grey Dragon begins to terrorize from the West. A Grey Dragon is one of the strongest there is, especially when they’re centuries old like this one. Black Dragons may be more aggressive, but Grey Dragons have something they don’t. Notable for being magic users - all dragons can absorb magic, but not all can use it.

Ah yes, magic. Certain creatures use it. Others don’t. Humans don’t have magic. Sorry. At least the common form of it, though. We can make potions, though. And summons.

Because of that Grey Dragon, it’s become dangerous to leave the town. Oddly enough, the Grey Dragon hasn’t flown down to Wolford, only seen on the outskirts of town, flying around like a giant eel awaiting its prey. Or maybe, looking for something. But what could it want from Wolford?

In order to solve the problem, the Kingdom of Raetus has sent several mercenaries to deal with the problem. They can’t send their own soldiers, why? Too busy fighting the war up North. Or too much of a hassle.

They should take care of the beast - soon, it’ll be a little safer to walk the lands of Wolford again.

So here’s my new RP, TSA. You play (whoever joins this RP) a supposed human, living in Wolford. You’ve lived there since birth.

Me, one of the ‘mercenaries’ comes in, and my character does his job. Tries to, anyways. Characters meet somehow, plot goes on from there. Now, there are some plot twists.

My character is one of those Lichs. A hidden Lich, looking for his revenge on..someone. And your character is an Angel - or at least, somewhat of one. Your character has no clue they’re an angel; not even a full angel, either. You don’t have wings or a halo or anything like that. You look human. Aside from your magic, which you won’t be using at the beginning of the RP. You won’t be aware you have it up until a certain point..

..however, I’d like to say that Angel can sense certain creatures like beings of undead or demons better than others. When my ‘disguised Lich’ comes into town, your character can tell something’s off. What do they feel? Curiosity? Fear? Neutral? You decide. It’s only a matter of time before the secret’s out. This ‘sense’ ability can also come into handy.
Oh and you’ve got other abilities too. We’ll talk about those more on into RP.

Here’s the rules

  1. In the event of a fight as usual, no autohitting, but please do not dodge everything either. Common sense.
  2. Let me know if you’ll be inactive, and I’ll do the same.
  3. I allow swearing, as usual. And blood and violence, but like rule 1, I’m not sure where the violence will happen…
  4. No one liners!
  5. Please try to use proper grammar.
  6. I ask that your reply at least be at least two lines long.
  7. Try to be okay with mature stuff!
  8. All basic RP rules apply.
  9. List may or may not change. Dunno.
  10. Please don’t let this die within a week
  11. I’d like semi-lit RPers dipping into literate as well. Please.
  12. I’d also like for whoever joins this to be committed. Preferring this to be long term, do not be afraid to BUMP the rp.

My Timezone: (this doesn’t really matter, I’ll RP with anyone as long as you follow the rules) EST

If you have any questions, like about magic, lore, creatures, etc, run them by me. These questions don’t have to be OOC either, maybe you’re curious about what a Giant Eel is and you decide to ask my character.

Here’s the template. I ask that you use this template, AND delete the brackets when filling it out. Please. Sorry if it’s a bit of a hefty template, but it is important!

Name:
Age: (above 18 at the least)
Gender:
Sexuality: (for your information, my character will be straight, but romance is not a requirement in this)

Appearance:

Personality:
Knowledge on Magic: (while your character knows of no spells or even the fact they have magic, generally humans are aware of magic. How much do they know about the use of magic? A little bit? None at all? A lot?)
Knowledge on Creatures: (same as above. Would you say they know a lot, or a little? Can use descriptors like high, medium, low, none, etc)
Family: (Any family? Dead or alive?)
Opinion on the Royalty: (yes, this is relevant. Do they think highly, or are the royals bugs under their shoe? Or they have no care?)
Skills: (potion making, climbing, hunting, tracking, music, anything counts.)
Other: (anything additional goes here.)

@ShadeStar

Name: Luna Cazadora
Age: 21
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Panromantic Demisexual
Appearance: Long dark black hair that's often in some braid or ponytail, almost ghostly white skin that refuses to get any darker than pale, piercing ice-blue eyes, sharp but soft features, a lithe body, lightly muscled as well, and stands at around 5'4".
Clothing: She tends to stick to the simple side of clothes. She wears a green cloak with a hood to help her blend into the forest, a dull blue tunic shirt, a brown leather belt with a simple hunting knife on it, dull gray-brown pants, a leather arm guard on her left arm going to cover her fingers, and a quiver on her back.
Personality: Luna spends most of her time in the woods hunting when possible, so socialization isn't her strongest suit. In fact, she hardly talks at all leading most to think she's shy. No, that's not it. She's just overly blunt and has a bad habit of swearing like a sailor. Combine that with social anxiety from a lack of socialization leads her to not talking to many. However, once she gets talking she's a sweet, intelligent, and kind girl.
Knowledge on Magic: Luna's never really cared about magic, but she's read maybe one book on it.
Knowledge on Creatures: Creatures, on the other hand, Luna knows almost everything on them. Most of her knowledge comes from books, second-hand experience, and first-hand experience.
Family:
Biologic: Oh they died long ago.
Adopted: Her dad's still kicking around.
Opinion on the Royalty: As long as they don't have a direct impact on her life, she doesn't care about them. So she's a little annoyed at them at the moment.
Skills: Hunting, Tracking, Climbing, Archery, Cooking. Basically any survival skills and anything that involves a successful hunter.
Other: How does she look? Should I add anything?

@Mojack group

((I won’t let that happen - I’m pretty excited to use my character in a RP actually, and get some development done for him. I should be done in maybe twenty minutes? Give or take.))

@Mojack group

Name: Oton Neale
Age: It’s..complicated. Technically, he’s in the triple digits now. But his age of death was only 22, and when he takes on (or attempts to) a human form, he looks quite similar to his 22 year old self.
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Demisexual, heteroromantic

Appearance: Being a Lich and all that, Oton has a very skeletal look. What differentiates him between a Living Skeleton is the blue glow which seems to emerge from his bones, often the eye sockets which are empty of course. If you had to describe his appearance in a singular word, what would it be?
Bones.
Oton is made up of bones, human ones. He was human once, after all. The bones are not flawless - they’re fractured, here and there, cracked. But not broken. Never broken; not permanently, anyways. Being a Lich, if one of his bones were to break, he would be fine, for he would heal soon enough.
His skull seems to be filled with a darkness. When he opens his jaws, it’s impossible to see what’s inside. His eyes, aside from the blue orbs, are complete voids. It gives him an interesting look. And his mouth; teeth, if you’d rather; he’s missing a few teeth. Only a few, and not many. All lost with age, of course.
As a particularly stronger Lich (and having studied it in his human live) he knows certain types of magic. Such types can allow him to pull on a disguise, which certain..faults, soon to be described.

His ‘human’ form is around 6ft, maybe a little under, but around there. Pale skinned; he was already pale before, but now this is somewhat pushing it. his hair is a colour so similar to silver that you could almost swear he were a Northern Elf. But he’s not. Maybe half elf? No one really questions it, maybe stares a little, but not really. His hair is slightly long, but not past his neck or anything like that, enough that it could be tied up if need be. His eyes are a pale blue, also a common feature of Northerners, but it wasn’t always like this.
Lightly muscled build. But perhaps the most peculiar feature would be the bits of him that he could not hide. His left hand, for example. Bone revealed, skeleton and all. He hides it with some bandages and claims monster attack. Occasionally, his lower jaw. The helmet helps. He’s not quite at full power just yet.
Clothing: Oton dresses for someone suitable for his job - at least, his disguised job anyways. Mercenary. That’s what he is. It’s the easiest way for him to get around quickly, anyways. And find out more information.
He commonly dresses wearing armour for this job. Lighter stuff, ease of movement. He can definitely take more hits than a human so he’s not too worried on that part, but he doesn’t like to leave suspicious. The armour has some silver - monsters weaker to silver won’t be trying to bite him anytime soon. He wears a helmet, completely covering the face. Lower visibility, but looks cool. And hides bones, if needed. Bandages around the left hand, completely. He also wears some leather armour as well, around the legs and upper arms. Better movement than that metal stuff, but less protection. Wears fur around the neck and shoulders. Refuses to say what animal it came from, but maybe a Northern creature given the thickness of it. He wears a necklace, attached to it a black canine tooth of an unidentifiable creature.
Occasionally adorns a black cloak. It’s more like some fabric taken from a tent or flag if anything, however. Knowing Oton, it could be.
Personality: Oton remains persistent and focused - on his goals. Willing to go to different lengths to get them, Oton, like I said is extremely persistent. He doesn’t like to stray away from goals, only if he must. Having not interacted with any living creature for a while, Oton generally doesn’t talk, since he’s not really ‘up to date’ on current events, and actually fears saying something suspicious. While he has a professional aura according to some people, Oton is more casual about things when he’s not focused on the mission, which rarely happens. He can be pretty vengeful, though, and remembers things for long periods of time, which could be good or bad. He’s not really a charge straight in sort of creature - more of a think before guy.
Knowledge on Magic: Knowledge on magic centuries old. Stuff that can be considered outdated by most. Not so much on the newer stuff, but he’s studying it.
Knowledge on Creatures: A lot of the older creatures. Has information one could consider outdated. Knows some of the undead.
Family: They all dead. Only the distant relatives, children of his siblings who also had children who again had children and so on are still alive.
Opinion on the Royalty: Used to serve them, when he was human. He doesn’t anymore — more of a free bird, if you will. He’ll only do it if it grants him something in return.
Skills: basics of alchemy, fighting (sword fighting, some close quarters combat and long distance. If I had to rank it from most to least skilled, it would be 1. Sword fighting 2. Long distance 3. Close quarters)
Magic (really just centuries old type of magic, and being a Lich and given the type of magic he studied as a human it’s the type of magic that kind of sucks the life and energy out of stuff as well.)
Identifying creatures, running and climbing.
Other: As angels are capable of sensing auras of certain creatures like Lich, a Lich has an aura almost like a cold breeze, something that speeds up your heartbeat, etc. Humans will feel physical effects but only Angels and expertly trained sorcerers can really identify/see vaguely what/where the source of it is. Kind of an aura that’s like..’okay, this is weird and something isn’t supposed to be here.’
Oton is not capable of remaining in a human form forever; eventually he does need to let the disguise go for a minute or two. He can keep it for a long time in return however.
Oton does not need to eat, drink or sleep, though he can experience something called Magick Exhaustion, similar to feeling tired. Being an Undead though Oton experiences it..differently.

((Shall I begin, then? Or did you have something in mind/any questions?))

@Mojack group

Thump. Thump. Thump.

What was that noise, again? It wasn’t from Oton, that was for sure. Maybe the horses? Their hooves, as they pressed into the muddy ground. The band of mercenaries had been traveling through farmland for a while now, they weren’t even in the main town of Wolford yet.

Abandoned farmland, thought Oton as he gave a glance out towards the clouded day skies. Not people in sight, but birds, maybe, picking worms from the ground. The people feared coming out here right now. They probably feared coming out before as well, but with a dragon claiming the near area as its hunting grounds, it was considered a death sentence. The people only came out because they had to.

Back to the noise. No. It wasn’t the horses, too clear of a noise. No, instead it was the beating of a heart. Oton had no heart - not a physical one, anyways. One of these mercenaries, nervous or excited, anticipating the hunt of the dragon or dreading it. It was rare you got to spear a dragon, take part of it as a trophy. Oton himself had received many questions if the necklace was a dragon tooth or claw, all of which he refused to answer. He’d been asked if it was the tooth of a hatchling, it was just small. No answer from him.
The trip here was pretty calm, aside from a few griffin sightings from above. But none approached.

Wolford was in sight, and Oton followed the group near the middle in silence, while the others chattered here and there. The band was rolling into town, making camp at the civilization to plan and relax, gather information before they set out to hunt the Grey Dragon.
Oton, on his horse - borrowed rather, it was quite hard to find a horse that didn’t back away from him. For whatever reason, most animals stayed away from Oton. He entered the town with the others, and immediately began to note his surroundings around him. He had no idea how long it would be before the hunt, so he supposed to just wait a bit. He was already ready, but he knew he’d garner attention if he left alone.

So he just followed the flock.

@ShadeStar

Luna had planned on going out on a week-long hunting trip. The keyword being had planned. It ended up getting cut short due to the Grey Dragon now prowling about the area. Her father was furious she had even tried to go out and hunt in the first place. But they needed the money and now she had goods to sell in the market. She had finished up skinning the beasts she had managed to hunt down and walked out from their house on the edge of town.

The town was as busy as ever. Most ignored the huntress coming into town. Luna went straight to the market and traded in the pelts, furs, and some of the meat for gold and silver. What she got wasn't as much as she had hoped for, but it would keep her and her father afloat for a little while longer. Her next stop was to get bread, but the incoming party caught her eye. For some reason, she began to get chills as the party grew nearer and her heart sped up just slightly. She shook her head and kept going ignoring these physical symptoms.

She didn't know what had come over her, but Luna didn't want to find out at the moment. Her life was troublesome as it was.

@Mojack group

Oton continued into the town. He knew the drill. They’d all put away their horses for the time being, tying them up somewhere for a good amount of time. Then the Lead Mercenary would ring a bell when it was time to head out. A weird system, but Oton wasn’t willing to argue it. He eventually broke away from the main group so he could put the horse away in the stables, which wasn’t too hard to find. It would make sense Wolford had one, though the town’s version was a bit smaller than some he’d seen.

He took a bit of time to make sure the horse was set before he made his way away from the horse and back into the town again, studying all the people he could. There didn’t seem to be any non-humans around. Maybe a few who looked similar to humans, but that was it.

Oton knew - or at least thought he had all the information he required for the time being on the Grey Dragon. Maybe not on the surroundings, though. He knew as far as dragons went they preferred dark places, or caves, or high places, or all three as their nests, but there were oddities sometimes.
Oton stood straight, looking around. His fellow mercenaries somewhat dispersed now, Oton decided to spend some time in the local pub in Wolford. It would be the easiest way to gather information without having to talk to many people, after all. You got a lot of people coming through there. Well, maybe not so many travellers through Wolford, but a lot of varied people with varied experiences in there.

Oton headed into the pub, walking quite close to a certain huntress - but unaware, of course - before actually entering and pausing. He looked around, scanning the inside of the structure, before taking a seat by the wooden walls.

@ShadeStar

The chills only increased as she walked. She didn't know why they were happening, but she just wanted them gone. She paused trying to figure out what might be causing them to spot one of the men from the party near her. Was he the reason her heart was almost racing at this point? He looked normal like almost everyone else and there was no reason for her body to be reacting this way. Her eyes followed him as he entered the pub.

She should go and buy bread and other necessities like she had been planning, but now she wanted to know the cause of her reactions. Taking a deep breath, she walked into the pub after him and tried not to appear as if she was following him. She wanted to go and talk to him, but that thought caused her throat to go dry and close in on itself. That took that option out of the running. Instead, she walked to a table nearby and sat down. Maybe she would order food to not draw as much attention to herself, but she didn't have the funds to do so.

The chills only increased from their proximity and her heart kept to it's now increased pounding. She wanted to know what was going on, but was lost as to how to get answers.

@Mojack group

He waited a moment or two before removing his helmet, once he was sure that his disguise was currently holding up. Oton looked pretty normal. He began to listen to whatever extent he could. Nothing much of interest, but the occasional ‘So about the Grey Dragon…’ seemed to catch his attention. Not for long, though. The conversations never lasted long. At least, the ones that could possibly host relevant information.

Oton glanced up, looking around the pub again. His eyes faltered on the huntress for a moment, but he continued to look around again. If he couldn’t pick anything up of info in here, he’d suppose he’d go and practice his alchemy until the time came for the hunt. But for now, Oton stayed put for at least a few more minutes.

@ShadeStar

Luna spent most of her time in the pub building up her own courage. She needed to go talk to the stranger, especially after he seemed to notice her. The normal chatter fluttered in the pub, at least from the few times she had been here. A few mentions of the dragon, but mainly just town gossip. Her eyes darted around for a moment before she stood up and gathered up what courage she could muster before making her way to the stranger.

Her heart just seemed to go faster and faster with each step towards him and the chills only got worse, but she kept going until she had walked up to him. Her voice came out soft and meek despite her attempts to make it sound stronger and her more confident than she really was, "Um, hey there stranger. What brings you into town?"

@Mojack group

Oton was debating getting up now that nothing seemed to be happening. He was about to, when the woman came over to him and spoke. Oton stayed silent a few moments before his answer came.

“Hunting the Grey Dragon,” was his answer. “Came in with the mercenaries, I’m sure you’ve seen some of them already.” He gave a pause.

@ShadeStar

Luna nodded trying to keep herself from shaking. Being near him caused such a physical reaction and she didn't know why. He was polite enoigh to answer her question and that put a good mark in her books.

However despite her best attempts her voice shook if she spoke any louder than her current volume, "I did see you come in to town. I'm glad someone is finally going to take care of that dragon. If you need anything, I'm. I'm happy to help."

She winced just slightly at her almost stutter. Luna hadn't stuttered in years.

@Mojack group

Oton’s neutral expression never changed at all. But he did take note of her nature, which was hard for him to not notice. She seemed almost nervous - but not quite. Just the physical symptoms of it. Was she…

No, that can’t be it. She doesn’t look like an Angel, Oton seemed to rule that out for now. There were really not that many creatures out there that could sense Lich and other creatures, so he again assumed she was some sort of magic user able to vaguely sense ‘what’ he was.

“Would you happen to know anything about dragons?” He questioned. “I want to get as much as information on this dragon if possible. Have you ever seen this dragon?”

He kept a calm expression, maintaining eye contact.

@ShadeStar

"I've seen the dragon, yes," Luna admitted figuring that would help him. Though shouldn't he know about dragons if he was here to hunt the dragon. She was still on edge from whatever was happening to her. The last time something similar to this had happened was when she had gotten close to that dragon, but she had only felt weak not this strange chill heart race thing happening now.

She thought for a moment before giving him more information. Her voice was soft since she didn't want to stutter or her voice to shake again, "Only from a distance, since if I got any closer it would have spotted me. Big gray brute's been hanging around the southern end of town last I checked. As for dragons, in general, I know quite a bit, probably more than most people in town. Why do you ask?"
