After Blair turned away, Trent took the fastest shower he could. The eels and the cold spring water definitely helped with that. At the moment, he had a towel wrapped around his waist, his teeth chattering from the cold. “Blair? Clothes please?”
"Huh? Oh, right! Here," He said, yeeting throwing a bundle of clothes wrapped in a blanket that was warmed by the fire into the spring room.
“Thanks.” Trenton got dressed, immediately, smiling as he warmed up. He followed Blair into the other room, his hair still sopping wet. “Alright. What do you want to know?”
"First off, how exactly did you get the scar?" Blair asked, his head in his hands and some berry on his cheek.
“Does it matter? It’s all healed now.” Trent scratched his arm, shifting awkwardly.
"Well one, you said technically your father gave it to you. This is concerning." Blair said, staring into Trenton's eyes.
Trenton sighed, biting his lower lip. Blair’s eyes were super distracting. “It was an accident, happened a couple years ago when he tried to teach me how to hunt.” He finished quietly, looking away. “He didn’t mean to, he said he didn’t.”
"You make it sound as if you don't believe it but has been reassured multiple times, so tell me, do you truly believe that?" Blair said, still staring.
“Of course I do.” Trent mumbled hesitantly, unsure of himself as he spoke. “He’s my father and the guiding light of this kingdom.”
"You sound unsure. Anyhow, you want some pie. I actually managed not to burn it." lair said with a wolfish grin.
“No thanks.” Trent shied away slightly, backing up a little. Talking his scar immediately took away his appetite. “I usually only eat once a day anyways.”
"Er, okay… I'll save it…" Blair muttered, a bit sad that his pies wouldn't be eaten, he worked hard okay?!
“I guess I could have a piece, while it’s warm.” Trent’s stomach growled faintly. He shuffled his feet in embarrassment.
"Hurray!" Blair said, clapping his hands in excitement. Okay, he was really proud of his pie.
“Thanks.” His mouth watered at the smell fo the pie. “You used berries humans Can eat, right?”
"Of course, I used cranberries and Blueberries," Blair said, taking a slice of the pie and biting into it with vigor.
Trenton didn’t hesitate any longer, taking a large slice of pie and digging into it as fast as possible, berry juice staining his cheeks.
"Is it good? Is it?" Blair asked, basically bouncing in his seat. "I tried a recipe I saw some others using down in the forest and they said it was hard to mess up! So I don't think I messed up!"
“It’s phenomenal.” Trent struggled to wiped the sticky juices off his cheeks.
"Hurray! What do you usually do during the day? I don't really see humans during the day…"
“Like for fun?” The prince started to think. “I… I haven’t done anything for fun since the light was stolen. I help with farmwork sometimes in the village, or I’ll play guitar for the kids, I try to read when I can, but I can’t say my eyesight works too well anymore.” He shrugged.
"Oof, well, I have a lot of books so you can take your pick… I might need to translate some of them though."
“You’d read to me?” Trent asked softly, a bit of berry juice still splotched on his cheek.
"If you want, I'm pretty sure you don't know any demonic languages so… I could." Blair said, reaching a hand out and wiping away the juice. "You had berry juice on your cheek."
“I’d uh… I’d like that.” Trent smiled warmly at Blair. “Thanks for taking care of me too.
I know I was sort of an ass yesterday. I was just scared. Really scared because I still am scared…” He rambled, but was mostly contented at the moment.
