Axel opens his eyes again. “I’ve been to..three other planets? So this planet we’re going to will be my fifth, if you’re including Earth as the fourth.” He pauses.
“Money was never a problem for me, travel-wise. We weren’t going to the planets to buy anything anyways, and transportation was dealt with beforehand, so it was free…in terms of money, of course. I’d see why it would be a problem for most other people, though.”
"Oh, wow. Which one was your favorite?" Lachlan was interested now, scooting back against the couch and sitting up a bit. He'd always loved learning more about other cultures, so as to not be an utter dick to other people unintentionally.
“Eh..” Axel had to think a bit. “I guess I didn’t really have much of a favourite. They were all relatively the same when it came down to environment - lots of sand, very dry. Never had much time to see the inhabitants, either. I suppose when it came down to the one I like the most….”
“Ginrade, probably. A bit quieter compared to the rest and calmer, though I was there for the least amount of time.”
"Ah." Lachlan fell quiet. It would be weird of him to ask how long the journey was supposed to be, but he really didn't get much information before being dumped on a ship. Just 'There's a room for you down the hallway. You have a teammate. Go find the artifact.' and then a quick shove inside.
How long would this journey even take? Am I going to be here for years?
Axel sits for a while longer before standing up again. He walks off to the other side of the room, before glancing at his right arm, in which there was a device around it. A communicative device, rather. Or something like that. Axel was familiar with them, but he never learned the different names.
“We’ll be arriving within ten or so minutes,” he comments, shuffling through a bag. “I suggest anything you need right now, you’d get ready.”
"Great." Lachlan responded, getting up to disappear back into the hallway. He quickly located the sack he was allowed to bring with him, containing a few items relating to weaponry and horticulture. He slung it across his back and gingerly touched the band around his own arm.
It's go time, I guess.
Axel takes out his classic rifle - he’s had this one for a while, now - and there were plenty of tales to tell about this rifle. None of which he would be saying, seeing as they weren’t relevant as of now. He slings the rifle carefully around himself, grabbing whatever else he may need and can carry - binoculars are a must, before getting anything else ready.
The ship has a relatively calm descent, as it prepares to land.
Lachlan rubbed his hands over his face as he trudged back into the main area.
He looked up at Axel, who now had a rifle, and nodded slightly as a greeting. He waited in silence for the ship to land, glancing around at the walls surrounding him.
It doesn’t take long for the ship to land.
“Well, here we are,” murmurs Axel, as he steps towards the exit of the ship. While the planet looks somewhat similar to Earth in terms of environment, one could say the same about previous planets Axel has been to; the fauna begs to differ however. There’s not really any animals in sight, though.
The ship must’ve scared them off, Axel decided.
Lachlan follows behind, muttering "Here's to the mission." back as he steps off.
His face immediately lights up at the scenery. They weren't kidding when they said forest planet, huh.
"Woah. There's a lot of good flora around here." He drifted to a nearby plant, hovering a hand over it and crouching to inspect it. "I'm assuming nobody lives here? At least, nobody from Earth. Nobody from Earth would be able to keep from tearing this down."
