Jake still didn't let go of Lighter. He kept the tears back in an attempt to not look "weak". If he let go now he might run the risk of breaking down and crying. Lately he had gotten way more emotional than he cared to admit. It was the mixed feelings of having the best thing in the world which was Lighter to constantly wanting to jump off of a building because he felt like it was a lie. Something more cruel and sinister set up by his family. He knew this wasn't true but for some reason his mind tried to desperately warn him of the oncoming danger, the red flags and everything. Jake finally pulled away, a small smile on his face on the border of dropping into the sadness which plagued his heart at the moment. "I know, I know…it's just that I think of some of the craziest things" he laughed bitterly at himself and looked away, trying to distract himself. He looks back over at Lighter at the end of the last sentence. A tired smile decorates his lips. "You're also the best thing that's happened to me…I can't express in words how much it would hurt to lose you….and I'm not talking about the suicide tendencies. I'm talking about the now really threatening gang that could hunt you down and kill you…" Jake looked down at the pavement for a few seconds. "Sorry…I know it's pointless to think about these things but I can't help it, sorry…" he said apologising, feeling like he shouldn't have said anything at all.
Lighter himself was conflicted deeply. He hated life and everything in it except for the beauty that was Jake. He wanted to die, to end his suffering but he couldn’t put it all onto his lover. He couldn’t do that to Jake. He couldn’t throw away his one chance at happiness. “I do too, my love, don’t worry about those… only focus on us, on me. I promise you I’m here to stay…” He purred, eyes slipping closed in a peaceful rest. The ice cream made him feel about twenty times better. And the thought of new clothes in the mall encouraged him. He opened his eyes when Jake started to speak, a happiness in them that hadn’t been there before. “It would devestate me to lose you… but just know that I’m not going to let some gang get the better of me. They can’t hurt nor touch me as long as I have something to live for.” He frowned at Jake’s next words, shaking his head. He leaned in, lifting Jake’s chin, to kiss him sweetly. “It’s never pointless… I know you’re worried about me, but do not be afraid. It’s going to take a lot more than a gang to keep me from you. So don’t apologize, just give me a quick kiss before anyone sees.”
Jake smiled warmly at Lighter's determination of not wanting to getting caught. He believed it. He just hoped that they would be able to get out here before they found out where Lighter was staying. Jake blushed furiously when Lighter kissed him. He wasn't used to others making the first move on him, but nonetheless he kissed Lighter back with just as much passion put in his kiss as Lighter had done. "I do…I worry a lot. I may not seem like the type to care but in reality I care- too much even. I don't show it often because it's not something I'm used to showing openly and willingly…but…I am. I'm scared. To death even." He chuckles a bit and presses his lips against Lighter's again, fully indulging in the moment.
Marcus hummed happily, offering his hands for Jake to take. “I care a lot about you too. Please don’t leave me… ever.” He replied, about to say something else when Jake’s lips met his. He hummed, immediately melting into it. After he pulled away he smiled brightly. “I love you, Jakey” He said, snickering at the nickname. “Shall we go get some clothes for you and I?”
Jake noticed the gesture and took Lighter's hand in his, he was still holding the icecream in the other and hadn't bothered to touch it the whole time. "Don't worry, that's not gonna happen any time soon or ever for that matter~" Jake smiled happily until he heard the nickname 'Jakey'. "Wait, no, that's embarrassing" he said not being able to hide the blush slowly spreading across his face, but was relieved when Lighter suggestrd they go find some clothes now. "Yes lets, but a warning that all my clothes will be black. I don't like bright neon colors, they give me a headache" he said sticking his tongue out while he pretended to gag. Jake felt something wet touch his fingers so when he looked at his hand and he saw the melting icecream he panicked. He quickly ate it up then walked with Lighter in the direction of the stores, still holding his hand.
“Thank you love…” Lighter laughed softly, eyeing his lover’s ice cream. He knew it was going to start melting soon. Maybe if Jake didn’t eat it, he’d get it. He grinned suddenly at the blush upon his lover’s face. “Can I not call you Jakey?” He asked with an innocent pout, his eyes flashing mischievously.
As Jake pulled him along, Lighter sighed softly. “I don’t like neon either. But I do like whites and grays. I’m a neutral kind of guy.” He mentally sighed when Jake finished off his ice cream.
Jake eyed him suspiciously before giving up and sighing. He really couldn't say no to Lighter. "Fine. But don't overkill it." Jake looked over at Lighter with a semi-surprised look on his face. "Oh, I thought you liked colors" he said a bit plainly. He stopped suddenly and looked at Lighter. "Are you alright there?" It seemed like it was out of the blue- hell, Jake himself seemed to be acting a bit strangely. He seemed more caring and attentive to Lighter, it wasn't like his usual self but maybe that's just the effect Lighter had on him.
(Eeyyy hello)
“I like red and I do like colors. I like looking at them. But I only like to wear neutral colors. Like browns and grays and navy blues.” He explained with a small smile and a soft laugh. He was falling more and more in love with the dork next to him with each new expression he showed. “You’re so cute when you look so surprised.” He murmured, humming happily.
The sudden question threw him off guard. He bit his lip, looking st Jake. “Mm? I’m fine. Maybe craving your touch and wanting to be dominated again by you Jakey, but fine.” He teased, his voice hushed so only Jake could hear him. He grinned mischievously, giggling innocently, pressing a kiss to Jake’s jaw.
Jake raised his eyebrows in surprise. "Neutral colors are cool. They aren't as harsh as actual colors." He frowned at Lighter's comment on his facial expressions. "Cute when I look surprised?" He muttered grumpily. Not sure how to take the new information. He almost always looked mad or serious but when he was with Lighter it was different- a good type of different. "Well um thanks" he said meekly, feeling shy all of a sudden for some reason.
Jake blushed really hard at what Lighter said. "I uh um yeah no I too that umm me too?" He questioned which only made him sound even more stupid. As if he wasn't flustered enough Lighter went and kissed him- it was always a tease to Jake getting kissed on the neck or jaw. It made him shiver all the while trying to resist pulling Lighter somewhere private.
The male nodded happily. A stupid grin painted his face as he watched his lover carefully. Hell Lighter loved this guy. He just had to think and say it again. He loved Jake more than anything. This male had literally saved his life and loved him unconditionally. It was a new feeling for Lighter but he enjoyed it. “Mm your welcome!”
The stupid grin turned into a small smirk as he wrapped his arms around Jake. They were in public so he would hold himself back, but hell was that frustrating. A soft giggle fell from his lips. “What’s wrong, baby?” He asked with a wink, snickering. Lighter took the opportunity to trail kisses along Jake’s jaw, pausing when he reached his ear.
“We should hurry and shop so we can kiss again.” He breathed, his breath hot against his lover’s neck.
Jake shivered at Lighter's kisses then the whisper. He gulped and nodded, dumbfounded. "Y-yeah. N-nothing's wrong! You're just being really adorable and my body can't handle it" He muttered at the end, hoping that Lighter couldn't make out his jumbled up thoughts. "A-anyways! Let's just go and buy some stuff. You really need it." He quickly dragged Lighter on to the stores before he could tease him any further. They stopped by some places where Jake usually bought his own clothes, most of which were edgy and dark as heck. Jake knew that Lighter my not like his type of thing so he switched it up with different stores that sold lighter neutral colors. At the end of the day they were able to get some decent outfits- mostly picked out by Jake, but Lighter had managed to surprise him with his taste in fashion- which Jake approved of. Most of the stuff Jake got for Lighter were stuff that he would never get for himself. For example denim jackets and oversized hoodies, pants that fit comfortably but not too tight like skinny jeans, flannel shirts and some band shirts (which of course were of Jake's preference) and of course converse shoes. Jake had even gotten a vintage looking brown leather bomber jacket for Lighter which he though fit his aesthetic so much. Jake had come to a conclusion. Lighter's style was more of an old school 90's look. Jake had a giant smile on his face, having accomplished his goal of getting stuff that suited Lighter. "So what do you think about what we got so far? Pretty cool, yeah?" Jake nudged Lighter to the right playfully.
Lighter hummed happilynat the reaction he drew from Jake. When he pointed the focus back to clothing, Lighter seemed to drop his teasing for a few moments. As each new outfit was tried on and picked out for him, Lighter became suddenly aware of how much better he looked in clothes that fit. Especially in the old school 90’s look. With a smirk and a snicker, he turned to Jake in his bomber jacket and flashed him a wink, fingergunning at his lover. “I love it all. I don’t know how you know my style better than I do but I’m enjoying this.” He commented, giggling. He nudged Jake back. A soft giggle left his throat and before Jake could complain, Lighter grabbed his collar and pulled him in for a kiss. The kiss didn’t last long, but it was enough to show how much he loved Jake.
Jake laughed at Lighter's sudden playfulness. "Well as your boyfriend it's my job~" he said almost smugly. Then before he could return the push, he was pulled into Lighter's kiss. But Jake didn't let him go so easily. He pushed Lighter against the wall and kissed him softly but deeply. He slowly opened his eyes to meet Lighter's. There was something seductive in his eyes as he indulged in the kiss. He pulled away after a while, finally realizing that he lost control. He turned completely red. "A-anyways!" He squealed, feeling very aware in that moment that some people had turned and gave them dirty glares. "Let's just go- sorry for that-" Jake quickly gathered their stuff and took Lighter's hand, leading them towards the exit.
“Mm you’re a perfect match for me.” He murmured, softly.
As soon as he felt his back against the wall, Lighter melted. His hands clutched at Jake’s shirt as a low groan left his throat. He forgot he was in public the second Jake’s seductive eyes met his.
When Jake pulled away, Lighter looked dazed. His eyes were glazed over and a stupid grin stuck to his face. He giggled softly, not even noticing the glares as he was led out of the store.
“Good lord Jakey…” he murmured softly, leaning into his lover. “We should continue that kiss when we get home…”
