“Well, yes. I am. And you are?” He asked quietly.

(G’morning!)

“Morgan,” she answered warily, purposely giving a name slightly different from her own.

(morning)

Rowan smiled widely, leaning casually against a shelf. "Pleasure to meet you, Morgan."

(How’re you?)

An unpleasant shiver ran down Morrigan’s spine. She tensed instinctively, crossing her arms. “Mmhm.”

(okay, hbu?)

“You still think I’m stalking your friends, don’t you?” Rowan asked nervously, cringing slightly.

(I’m good)

She gave a terse shrug in response. “How old are you?”

“23. 24 in a month.” Rowan answered immediately, hoping to convince her that he wasn’t a stalker.

Morrigan gave a slight nod, deciding to trust Macha on this one. After a pause, she turned away.

Rowan sighed quietly in relief and began to walk away. “Well..I should be getting back to work.”

"Mmhm," Morrigan muttered, lifting a second shirt off the rack beside her. "Go right ahead."

"Oh..okay. Sorry for bothering you." Rowan said with a sad smile.

Morrigan flinched as his wording cut straight through to her stupidly mushy heart. "You.. said you needed to get back to work? I didn't exactly say anything to offend, unless agreeing with your statement is a bad thing?"

Rowan shook his head slightly. "No, I just meant, if I creeped you out, I'm sorry." He said quietly, taking his jacket and slipping it on.

"Oh."

Morrigan paused, unsure how to respond to such unusual gentility from a stranger, despite the fact that it was probably a ruse.

"You didn't."

"I didn't?" Rowan responded, pausing and tilting his head slightly to the right as the looked at her.

“Near the end,” she added in a low mutter, holding both shirts up to the light.

“That’s exactly my point then. I’m sorry for that. And I’ll be on my way now.” He replied, oddly happy and still smiling.

Morrigan glanced over her shoulder at him. “Oh. It’s fine. See you.”
