Skyscrapers that stretch up to the heavens, with luminescent lights that illuminate even the darkest of nights. Cars that glide down the smooth streets silently and with ease, their aerodynamic frames built both for speed and safety. Hoverboards. Brightly-colored clothes and hair. Neon lights. Holographic advertisements. Every kind of VR you can imagine.
Crisp. Clean. Active. Brilliant. Safe. Bright. Comfortable. New. Almost perfect.

This is the world you know.

But what if…
What if I told you the world you know isn't the only world to know? What if I told you that beyond the facade of perfection, beneath the glimmering lights and shiny gadgets, the world is as horrible as it ever had been? What if I pulled back the veil, for just a second, and let you see the darkness for what it really is?
What if I took you to the Under World?

Themes: Futuristic. Utopian. Dystopian. Crime. Science Fiction.
This roleplay is set in a near-utopian future. It will follow five high-school or college students who have been chosen to receive an internship, so to speak, for a massive science corporation dedicated to forming the future. However, the young scientist over the program seems to have rigged the selection on purpose, and had other intentions for the internship. He specifically chose these kids for a purpose that they don't understand— and reveals the dangerous truth about what's really going on in their city. Along with the revelation comes questions, choices, and obstacles that have the power to shape their futures— for better or for worse.

RULES and WARNINGS

• You must provide a writing sample before joining. I am going to be sort-of-picky, so try to be literate.
• Keep all posts coherent and easy to respond to so that other players can interact accordingly.
• Do not under any circumstances play someone else's character for them.
• I control weather, dates, times, etc.
• I will only be partially active, but don't go on without me because you may lose the general direction of the RP and the purpose will be lost. I will work to not leave you behind, so please do the same for me.
• Please respect the work I've put into this RP.
• You will start with one character each. If you want more later on, let me know, and we will work something out for you.
• No Mary-Sues/Gary Stus.
• I will not tolerate OP players.
• No killing other people's players. Also no auto-hitting or auto-dodging during any possible fight-scenes.
• Violence and gore is allowed, but don't be ridiculously overboard with it.
• Romance is absolutely allowed, but no sex scenes or NSFW content will be tolerated. Kissing, hugging, hand-holding, and cuddling are a different story. Go crazy.
• Strong or vulgar language will not be tolerated.
• There may be references to more mature themes, such as abuse. These will not be described in explicit detail but will more than likely be acknowledged.
• Drug, alcohol, and tobacco use may be present in this RP.
• Nothing magical or demonic is to be included in this RP.
• Do not start drama between other players. However, be as dramatic and angsty as you want with character interactions. Makes the RP interesting.

Okay so here’s a shorter one, but i can always give you longer posts if you want!

Vienna pulled her black ponytail up tighter to her head and pulled over her vest before she stepped onto the scene. Rain pouring down onto the grass and into her hair, flicking off of the silver of her gun as she held it up ready to shoot if need be.
“OVER HERE! WE’VE GOT ANOTHER DEAD ONE” Min, one of the investigators called.
Three homicide investigators came into town for this one, as more and more bodies kept dropping. Not to mention, they were big names and a lot of money. It was chaos and they didnt know who was causing it until about 2 weeks ago. Once they had an idea of who it was, it was a whole two weeks till they figured out his whereabouts.

Vi ran over to the body and knelt down before hearing a crack and she whipped around to see the figure.
Within a matter of 30 minutes, she and the investigator had the killer down on the ground.
“Well heya hiya there” she says handcuffing the man with a smile. Rain falling down on the crew, she jerked him up and led him to the car, three males surrounding him in case he tried anything.

Esme was her grandmother's name, short for Esmeralda, a name Esme kind of hated. Don't get her wrong, she loved her Nana, but it was an old name, and a weird one, and weird names got teased. Every sixth grader knew that, even the stupid ones.

You'd think the bullying would be straightforward, but no, it wasn't "I hate you and hate your name, I'm shoving you in a locker now."

No, it was weird stares at her full name every morning during attendance. It was people saying it, mockingly, the whole thing, or deliberately mispronouncing it loud for all to hear and laughing afterwards. But Esmeralda had history, so she hated that she loved being Esme. It was better than being a Jessie or a Hannah or an Andrew, she was an Esme and that was a strong name for the (aspiring) best artist in the world.

Age: 18
Gender: Cis woman
Backstory: Tanya grew up in a small, close-knit town before her family decided to move to the city for her and her sister to pursue a better education. Her mother fell seriously ill around that time, and the doctors couldn't find out what was wrong with her. It turned out to be Crohn's, and the family struggled paying off medical bills for two years. Now Tanya is worried she won't be able to pursue a higher education as her parents always wanted her to due to cost of college.
Personality Overview: Tanya is a very nervous person. She constantly overthinks things and worries her family hates her every day of her life. She can be narrow minded sometimes and says things she knows she'll regret, but ultimately she cares about people and is very compassionate to their needs.
Strengths: Her compassion, her intuition, her intelligence.
Weaknesses: Her constant overthinking, her constant self depreciation.
Likes & Hobbies: She likes dogs, painting, and bringing her ideas to life through stories and poetry. She loves singing, and is writing a combination of a song and a story for a class project.
Dislikes: Hearing recordings of her voice, getting her picture taken, horses, Venus flytraps.
Appearance:

• Build— Skinny, a bit underweight, with a rectangular torso.
• Skin— Ochre hued, with acne scars littered across her face from picking at her acne all through highschool
• Hair— long twists dyed blue on half of her head, otherwise her natural hair color is black.
• Eyes/Face— Her face is square, with a defined jawline and cheekbones, and gorgeous dark brown deep set eyes. She has a flat nose with no clearly defined bridge, and freckles.
• Clothes— A tattered grey hoodie she refuses to throw out (it's comfy to her, okay?), jeans, and an graphic tee with a pun on it. Her favorite is a shirt with a periodic table saying "I wear this shirt periodically."
• Other— she has a scar on her left hip from a biking accident when she was 11, and closed ear piercings.
  Other Information: Tanya has severe anxiety and ADHD, as well as a stutter. She mainly struggles on S, F, and soft C sounds. She has a small dog named Mittens.

Name: Jezariah Shields
Age: 20 (I can change it if needed and might once I've seen the other characters ages)
Gender: Male
Backstory: grew up with both parents and two younger siblings until his father committed suicide after a homicide hes committed. It took a toll on him for a while until around 18. At around 16 his mother remarried to a pastor whom he hated and still does to this day trying to shove religion down his throat. His family accepted it and took it in as their own as he didnt. That made him feel pretty rejected and he never bothered to deal with it as he doesnt think it matters. He still tries to have good records, friendly with others after highschool. As he wasnt so good around 2 years ago. But not too bad. Got caught up with the police every now and then.

Personality Overview:
Hes calm and collected but not cool per say. Hes a hot head with a bit of anger issues but he would never hurt anyone he cares about or anyone who didnt deserve it. Jez would usually like to keep to himself a few years back but lately hes come out of his shell and became quite the extrovert. Loving social interactions and attention he didnt get when he was younger.
He's always ready for a fight and everyone around him knows it. He holds himself with confidence which a lot of times is percieved as narcissism and cockiness. At first many people dont like him and the ones who do like him at first are either really perceptive or shallow and stupid.
He can let emotions get in the way of thinking when it comes to stressful times but hes able to step up and be a leader when needed. Usually when he shows emotions it more aggravated but he never wants to be alone. Jezariah can and will be extremely protective of his family and any loved ones. That includes friends and/or lovers.

Strengths: other than his physical strengths, lying/fooling others, sneaking around, hiding emotions (to an extent), flirting and hes good with adults or authority figures

Weaknesses: his little siblings, (17 year old sister and an 8 year old brother) other men. He feels threatened by them. Sour foods, and physiological attacks about his trauma (if that makes sense)

Likes & Hobbies:cats, nice sweatpants, piercings though he doesn't have many, fire, boxing, flowers.
Dislikes: people complaining, marshmellows, dogs, bright lights, fishing, and small cars.

Build: Muscular standing at 6 feet maybe an inch or two taller. He makes sure to work out and stay in shape. His torso is a Slightly triangulated shape but more on the blocky side. Thicker arms and broad shoulders. Just by his build he appears to be more threatening and scary to others but more attractive as his face is pretty average.
Skin— dark chocolate with a touch of caramel. A golden touch in the sunlight but not too much. Darker around his elbows, knees. Nice Red and yellow undertones. Acne scars every now and then but not too noticeable due to his dark tones
A few tattoos on him though he never told anyone about them. Just let's them see for themselves if the opportunity was given. A shadow of a small raven midflight on his chest and his dads signature in ink on his wrist, the others random stuff. An alien head with the words "AREA 51" on his finger along with some tribal patterns sleeping his right arm from his elbow on down, with dark flowers stitched through.the patterns.

Hair— dark, fluffy, a bit of a coily afro. Frizzy when he doesn't care too much to take care of. Clean cut hairline and shorter near the back. He makes sure to take good care of himself and that includes his hair. He can stick so many pencils in his afro it's not even funny.
Eyes/Face— green eyes more on the darker rainy side with a bit of deep brown to them. Sharper, yet calm eyeshape with the every now and dark circles. Longer eyelashes, dark and full. Not curled much. Defined sharp jawline leading to bigger ears but the hair around them levels them a bit so it's not so prominent but still noticeable. Piercings on both of them. Usually simple silver, gold, or black hoops depending on his choice of clothing. Jess has got a wide nose with a smooth yet rather prominent bridge. No piercings but the thought of one crosses his mind regularly. Straight teeth and a neat, playful smile that's actually pretty big, making his cheekbones really prominent. Nice full lips he uses with confidence as well as his other features.
Sharp thick eyebrows, a bit on the messy side with a bit of plucking here and there. Black eyebrow piercing on his right eyebrow. He can easily grow facial hair but he shaves every now and then. He has a natural yet thick scruff but he never let's it get longer than that When he actually does neglect the chore of shaving. Hes got a nasty glare when hes tipped off. But usually he wouldn't let the side of him show.
Clothes— depending on where he was going and what type of setting he knew he would be in. He'll always wear a jacket, never tight. T shirts and tanks in the summer, not afraid to wear casual basket ball shorts but loves to find excuses to wear something nice. In the winter, Jeans and sweaters. No watches although if he had good money he would most likely wear one. Though hes never liked showing off money, he likes dressing nice. Greens, reds, oranges and brown tend to look better on him and he takes advantage of that.
