Ariella quickly sharpened the three knives she had used before placing them back in their holsters. She looked back to check on Marc, nodding her head at him if he was just about ready to go. She'd grab some rations and water and from the kitchen and grab some of her stash of money and then they should be all good to go.
Even though Marc was new to traveling, he still had the mindset of “better to have it and not need it” so he made sure to grab a good amount of ammunition before looking back at Ariella. “Ready?” he asked when she nodded.
Ariella nodded her head. "Just about. I'll grab us some rations from the kitchen on the way out." And some cash from her secret hiding spot. She didn't let anyone see it. The others would clean her out if they found it. While they might all contribute to supplying the safe house, cash laying around the house would be fair game.
“Alright.” Marc nodded. “Is there anything I can help you carry?” he offered since he still had the bag from the last world they were at.
Ariella looked at him, thinking. "Yeah, we'll put all of it in the pack. It shouldn't be too heavy. If it is, I bet I can find another pack and take some of the load."
“Unless you plan on putting bricks in the bag, I should be able to carry it.” Marc smirked teasingly. He didn't mind if Ariella filled the bag or not. As crazy as it was, for knowing her for just a couple of days, he trusted her.
"And just for that, I think I might. Never know when you need a good rock to chuck at people." Ariella grinned in return. "I'll be right back. Hang tight."
Marc laughed at what he hoped was just her teasing. Though he couldn't argue with her comment about throwing a rock at someone. “I’ll be here.” he assured, nodding.
Ariella gathered up everything she thought would be useful for their trip. Some water, a few rations just in case, some cash. She joined Marc and placed everything in his pack before nodding at him. "Alright let's go."
Marc held open the bag for her as she loaded up for their journey. He didn't ask any questions about where she got the stuff, it wasn't his business anyway. But he couldn't help feeling a sense of familiarity between this and getting ready for the start of a shift. “Ready.” he nodded, slinging the pack on his shoulders and double-checking everything else on his person.
Ariella smiled up at him before setting out for the door. It was a shorter walk to the next portal than it was arriving here. She fell in pace beside Marc, trying to keep up with his longer stride.
Marc smirked a little as he followed Ariella to the next portal location, almost tempted to carry her since she seemed to be struggling to keep up… But he didn't. He didn't know where the portal was anyway. Plus he didn't want to antagonize her since they needed each other right now.
