@croccin-champagne
((alright! let me know when is realistic to include her, whether as an existing member or a new one!))
((alright! let me know when is realistic to include her, whether as an existing member or a new one!))
(Literally any time. And introduce her however you’d like! Maybe she could interact with Victor if @Icefire is up for it?)
(sure! Tho i gtg soon so i may not respond until morning)
(That’s fair bro! Take all the time you need!)
((how should she go about interacting with him? what makes sense with the setting and everything?))
(hhnnnnggg idk to be honest)
(I mean you guys don’t have to if it feels it won’t work, it was just an idea lol.O
(it would work, i just don't know how? Crocs, would she be new or…?)
((ii think something like this would have attracted her attention a while ago, so maybe she's an older resident who decides to greet him? she could also be a newer resident if that works better!))
(either way works for me!)
((i'll get up a lil post then! be prepared for detailed outfit descriptions because i'm definitely projecting my wish to be able to wear these things onto a character who can lmao))
(Hell yeah outfit descriptions are my jam.)
(lmao awesome!)
((wait real quick, how is the setting set up? they're in a building, i know that much, but what kind? layout? etc???))
(There’s the main entrance hall, the laboratories, the main office which is connected to Henry’s office and then of course right connected to the main building is the side building where all the boarders stay. In the main building there are a bunch of empty rooms mainly used for storage or offices/labs for whoever needs them. Attached to the boarding house is a kitchen/cafeteria where the boarders can eat if they choose to.)
((would it be out of the realm of possibility to say that someone would have turned one or more of the empty rooms into libraries? i'm debating on where to have her be at the time of deciding to go bother the newcomers))
(Oh wait logically there would be a library/archive of some kind. So, pretend I said there was one there too. Lol sorry. Pretend there’s a lot of places I didn’t think to list, sorry!)
((fhfhd you're good! thank you, i'll get started now!))
It didn't take a lot to distract Asra.
Well, that was a lie. It took quite a bit to even break her focus when she deeply immersed into a task, or reading. But when she was already not too interested, it was easy to pull her focus away and make her think of something else.
And right now, her attention was diverting from the book in her hand–she was currently situated on a table in the large library–to the news of new arrivals. New arrivals meant new friends, after all. More people to talk to about the cool topics that existed in the world, the strange sciences and yet to be explained things, the mysticism that existed beyond their understanding. It was all fascinating, even if none of it quite gave her the feeling the stars did. So new people were one of her favorite things.
It didn't take long for her to leave the refuge of the library, wandering the building in search. Favoring shorts in any weather, she was dressed up in a pair of shorts that she had cut, and further re-hemmed, from a pair of chocolate-brown slacks. A white button up was tucked into them, though unbuttoned, and showed off the black bandeau top she was wearing underneath. Sleeves rolled down, the outfit was completed by a slightly large blazer of a color matching the shorts, and a pair of thick-soled, heeled boots that came up mid calf. Her earrings, and their matching necklace–a necklace with a star and moon pendant–sparkled in the light, a pretty silver that stood out with her hair.
As soon as she spotted a face she didn't recognize, a bounce entered her step.
"Excuse me! Hello, you're new, right? Of course you are, I've never seen you, and I know about every face I could possibly know. It's nice to meet you!"
Victor blinked at her uncomprehendingly. Most women wore dresses or at least skirts, not…whatever these were, that showed off her bare skin. Also, he wasn't used to such bright and sunny greetings. "Ah…new, yes." He said slowly.
Asra clapped her hands together excitedly, moving like she was dancing for a moment before brushing her hair back. "Perfect! My name is Asra, Asra Sesat. I'm the resident astronomer, and I dabble in artifact history and mythology. What's your area of expertise?" Though she talked a lot, it wasn't too quick. The way she paced her words allowed for everyone around her to easily keep up, a necessary skill considering how much she said.
Unaware of his confusion with her clothing choices, she simply stood by, excited to meet someone new.
"Uh…science?" he said slowly. "Of the…body, I suppose." his eyebrows pulled together faintly as he studied her, still very unsure of what this all meant. "Not a doctor, though."
Asra tilted her head, arching a brow. "Not a doctor, but you study the body? Do you work with the body as well? Is it in more of a anthropology type way, or human sciences? Or are you simply unlicensed?" She was already visibly intrigued, hands tucked neatly in the pockets of her shorts as she spoke with the man.
Victor cleared his throat. "I study…how it works. What makes it work. Not…I have no interest in the body medically, except in how medicine affects the systems of the body." he replied slowly, figuring that that was, perhaps, the best way to excuse his interest.
Asra nodded after a moment of thinking about his answer, smiling slightly. "That makes sense. Sometimes things are much more interesting on a mechanical level, but actually trying to work with them doesn't work. What's your name?" She asked suddenly, like she had forgotten people even had them.
