@Moriarty

Every once in awhile, someone is born with extraordinary abilities. Nobody really knows what causes them, and everyone stopped asking a long time ago. It's normal. Rare, but normal.
Sometimes these Extraordinaries become superheroes. Sometimes they become supervillains. Sometimes they don't become either, and they waste their lives playing video games in their parents' basement. Whatever works.
Point is, heroes and villains are a major part of society. They're like the celebrities nowadays. People love the heroes and they love to hate the villains.

And you– well, you're one of the most famous heroes in the city. You're unstoppable. Unbeatable. Untouchable. The public adores you. You've never killed anyone, but you've caught plenty of villains and put them in prisons. They hate you for it, but, hey, it's your job– and you're heckin' good at it.
That's why you're not really concerned when a new villain shows up and starts sending you death threats. This guy starts accusing you of being a fraud, of being a liar and an impostor, and all kinds of other nonsense you've heard before. You've been at this for awhile, so this isn't anything new. You crack your knuckles and get to work. Taking this fool down will be a breeze.
Well– you thought it would be, until you find out that the "supervillain" is just a little teenager. Granted, he's got powers, he's creepily intelligent for his age, and apparently a whole gang of malicious murderers working for him– but the dang kid's only thirteen years old. As far as you know, he doesn't have any sort of parental guidance or discipline whatsoever– he's just at it by himself, and he's after you.
The problem is that you don't know how to arrest this kid. There's no prison for kid supervillains. You catch him and he's being locked up with the massive, monstrous men you've been incarcerating for years– and you know how those prisons work. All powers are subdued in those place, and you can imagine how messed up things will get if you stick that poor kid behind bars with the most malicious humans on earth.
On top of all that– who the heck would believe that there's actually a kid villain who's a threat to you?
So you've got a big problem on your hands.
And you've gotta figure out what to do about it before this little guy kills someone.
Namely, you.

  RULES
  • PG-13 violence. Blood and fighting welcomed.
  • This RP's focus isn't necessarily ships, as I don't think the two main starting characters are… well… shippable, but since I am a big fan of ships, we may introduce more character's later for the purpose of shipping. If we do, please keep in mind two important points: MxF ships only and No sex scenes whatsoever. Other forms of physical affection are welcome and allowed, just keep it appropriate.
  • No language. If you want your character to curse, just simply put He curses. Or blot it out with a @#!$. Or replace it with a filler word, like dang, heck, crap, etc.
  • Try not to have a bunch of grammar mistakes.
  • Try to post once a day if possible. (It's okay if you miss one here and there, but in general, try not to leave me hanging)
  • This is a long-term RP, so let me know if you plan to bail.
  • As questions ^-^

@Moriarty

I think that would be a good idea. ^-^ Okay, so… I imagined that the kid would likely be sending her death threats, and initially she'd have no way of knowing that this is actually a kid rather than some psychopathic adult villain– so maybe we could either start with her receiving a threat and going to investigate or possibly she has already received threats for maybe a week or two now and now she's going to investigate or somehow encounter him for the first time. What do you think?

@Moriarty

Yes, I will! Though, it's… 2:35 AM here, so I may begin it tomorrow, if that's alright with you. ^-^ I would've today, but I was a tad busy.

@Moriarty

(Sorry if it's a tad wonky. Starter posts are always a little rough for me. ^.^)

As far as Edan was concerned, everything was a game. Not a childish game, but a massive, complicated game. And everything– everything– was, indeed, a game. From the smallest things like relationships to massive things like political and governmental decisions, everything played out like a giant chess match. There were moves and countermoves. Strategies had to be involved. Plans had to take place. In the end, someone would win, and someone would lose. Always.
And Edan did not like to lose.
Omen, as he was more commonly known in the criminal world, had not been around long. Few knew his true identity, or anything about him at all for that matter aside from the fact that he was supposedly a new villain and rumored to be dangerous. Only some of the people who actually worked for him knew that he was only thirteen-years-old, and rather unintimidating in appearance at that. In spite of his age, he had somehow managed to set himself up. Nobody outside of his inner circle knew how he'd gotten where he was, and he preferred it that way. No one needed to know.
And he, over the past several weeks, had taken the liberty of making the first move in his so-called game. This move had been simply to threaten one particular heroine– Freefall. His messages had consisted of a variety of things, from letters to messages (which weren't recorded by him, but rather some of his cronies, and a voice-changer was used as well), and generally expressed that she, like every other hero in the world that offered false hope to this miserable society, was a fraud, and that he had every desire to kill her.
And he meant every word.

@PrettyLittlePyro

Victory was getting really tired of the death threats. She had been the popular heroine, Freefall, a public favorite, for five years now, and it wasn't getting any easier. Now that she was famous, she had been getting more and more death threats. This week alone, she had recieved over a dozen.
It was getting ridiculous.
Most of them were nothing important. Just the usual threats of finding out her identity and exposing her to the public, which would be troublesome, but not a huge problem. She had people who could cover it, so that her identity would soon be forgotten. There were a few, though, that worried her, as much as they could. She was a superhero, she shouldn't be worried about these kinds of things. If she paid attention to every single death threat sent her way, she would not be as far along as she was now. But some of them forced her to pay attention. Like the ones she had been getting from Omen.
A relitively new villain, he seemed to be pretty powerful. Victory had not been hunting him down, as there were many more people who needed her, and other, more pressing, more dangerous villains at hand. But now, after finally taking down the villain Cupid, she could finally relax for a bit.
Until she had gotten the threats from Omen. And her boss had given her a new task: go after him. From the messages she had gotten from the villain so far, it seemed like he - or she - didn't dare say who they really were. Changing voices all the time, the threats were the same, and they all came from Omen. Although, she thought, Omen could be a group of people, and not necessarily one person. It was puzzling.

@Moriarty

And it seemed that Omen was rather willing to meet her, because today– well, today, he requested it. Truth be told, destroying the city for no good reason wasn't really his method of attracting heroes' attention. Blowing up buildings? Gunning down innocent civilians? Burning cars? Destroying bridges? Pssh– No. That was sloppy at best.
And Omen hated sloppy.
Besides, if he was going to encounter her– as he intended to– he wanted it to be on his terms.
"No police," he had said. Or, more specifically, his messengers had said. "If there are police, you had best believe they will be killed, and you won't be seeing me. It must be you and you alone."
Then there was the subject of location. It had to be somewhere dramatic– after all, what would a good villain be without a little finesse?– and it had to be somewhere isolated.
So he gave her the location and time to come deal with him, if she dared. An abandoned place on the edge of town, once an old factory but now nothing but an empty building, forgotten and neglected.

@PrettyLittlePyro

Victory was prepared. She had scouted the place ahead of time, making sure no one was there. Villains might promise that they wouldn't hurt any innocents, but she could never be sure. She had planted the typical traps, hidden around the area, and wore her microphone.
She was ready.
The day of the meeting, she dressed normally at first, to walk the first half of the trip. She couldn't have innocents spotting her, and then following her into danger. When she got to an empty alleyway, in a place where there were no windows, she tapped her bracelet, and it unfolded into her suit. She pulled the mask into place before snapping her fingers. Two whirling voids appeared under her feet, and launched her into the air, where she landed neatly on top of the building. She hopped rooftops the rest of the way to the warehouse, before sliding in through a window and waiting, hands on hips, to see the villain.

@Moriarty

"Impressive entry. But you could've just walked in through the front door, you know," a voice– a young voice– greeted coolly as she stepped inside. The lights inside the warehouse were fairly dull, but there was enough light to make out the figure of the person who had spoken.
It was a little boy.
Okay, well, he wasn't a baby, but he wasn't much more than that, either. He was only about thirteen, and he looked– and sounded– like he'd yet to even hit puberty, much less have any growth spurts. Curly hair. A few freckles dotting his nose. He seemed pretty relaxed, his hands resting in the pockets of his slightly over-sized hoodie.
Behind him, there were two other people– grown men– though they had yet to speak or even acknowledge Victory's existence.
"I left it unlocked," the boy added blankly.

@PrettyLittlePyro

She stiffened, turning. But when she saw who it was that was speaking to her, she did a double take. She blinked at the short figure in front of her, then smiled in amusement, although you couldn't see it under her mask. "Of course you did. All villains leave their doors open, after all. But it never hurts to be cautious." She glanced at the two following him. "Which one of you is Omen?"

@Moriarty

"Neither of them," the small boy snapped before either of the men could bother responding, his shoulders tensing as his expression hardened into a slight glare. It was likely that people had mistook his lackeys as Omen in the past, considering that nothing about Edan's appearance screamed threatening or dangerous villain, but that didn't mean he wasn't mildly offended at always being underestimated. "They're not Omen." He relaxed, a smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth. Then again, being underestimated usually came to his advantage. Nobody suspected a child, and their reactions to finding out who he was made him curious, to say the least. "I am."

@PrettyLittlePyro

"You?" Forgetting for the moment that superheroes were supposed to be kind to all, Victory snorted. "No way. There's no way a little shrimp like you could be a supervillain. A villain, maybe, but not a supervillain." Even as she said this, though, she wondered what the hell she was supposed to do. If this little squirt really was Omen, then what was she supposed to do?

@Moriarty

Edan's face flamed red. "I am the Omen. And I'm no shrimp," he retorted as calmly as he could. "I'm the average height for my age." Or close to it, anyway. "No matter. I hold more power in my hand than ninety-percent of these jokes you people call heroes and villains, anyway." He sighed, the pinkish flush tinting his cheeks subtly fading as he crossed his arms over his chest.

@PrettyLittlePyro

"Of course you do," Victory said, rolling her eyes. "Your dad probably helps you with running everything and giving you the masterful ideas. I have to admit, though, they're good ideas. He must be smart." She shook her head at the short figure in front of her. "Nice try, though."

@Moriarty

"No," Edan said numbly. "I work alone." He glanced back at the two men accompanying him– both of which had yet to say anything. "Except for my lackeys, of course, but they just do the grunt work. I'm the brain behind this whole operation." He eyed her a moment before his mouth twitched into a slight smirk. "Hm. You really don't believe me, do you? How stupid. Maybe you'll believe me when I kill you."
