“I usually take the scenic route,” Tobias began to walk the way he usually did, hoping the prince followed after. He was surprised he’d offered to join, but definitely wasn’t unhappy about it.
"Alright." Lloyd trotted after Tobias, humming softly to himself as they walked. "How often do you go to town?" He asked curiously. "I don't get to go as much as I'd like since they don't let me leave much."
Tobias shrugged, "Whenever I get the chance, I guess," he answered, glancing at Lloyd. "If you want to come along when I go to town, you, uh, you can. If you want."
"That would be nice… I'm eighteen now, so they can't exactly stop me anymore. Well, they can, but not as much…" Lloyd looked around as they walked, taking in the surroundings.
Tobias nodded, but didn’t say anything. He didn’t agree with them not letting the prince do what he wanted, but it wasn’t his place to say anything. So, he guided them down the path towards town in silence. He enjoyed that route - less people wandered around, and the buildings were separated by garden beds and trees.
Lloyd smiled softly to himself as he looked around. He'd never taken that route before, so it was intriguing to him. "It's gorgeous here…" He murmured.
Tobias smiled and glanced over at Lloyd. "Yeah, it is," he said, "I prefer going this way to town, it's much quieter."
Lloyd nodded. "I've never been through here before. I should come more often." He folded his wings tightly against his back so they wouldn't bump anything.
Tobias hummed. “It’s a beautiful area,” he said, “If you do join me on my trips to town you’ll see it a lot. But then you’d have to endure my company.” He smiled at Lloyd.
Lloyd flushed lightly and grinned. "I think I can handle that. I rather enjoy your company." He brushed his fingertips along the trunks of trees as they passed them.
Tobias blushed and cast his gaze away from Lloyd. “Good to know,” he said, looking ahead of them.
Lloyd kept walking, still humming quietly to himself. He seemed to be in good spirits. "How far away is town from here?"
"Not too far now, we're almost there," Tobias said. As they kept walking, the buildings began to get closer, and the path turned to cobble. They were getting closer to the town centre.
"Alright. What are we going to do when we get there?" He asked curiously. He seemed to be unaware that he was going to stick out like a sore thumb in the middle of town, especially since he didn't go out much.
"I don't know," Tobias laughed awkwardly, "I usually just wander around." He looked over to the prince, and a thought struck him. "Uh, it's going to be pretty obvious you're the prince, or at least not a peasant. With uh, you know." He gestured to the prince's wings.
"Uh… right…" Lloyd glanced back at his wings, considering for a few seconds. "Is… is that gonna be a problem?" He asked softly. "Like I said, I don't exactly get out much, so I have no idea…" He sighed.
Tobias shrugged, "It shouldn't be. As long as you don't mind people staring at you," he said.
"Alright…" Lloyd kept trotting along beside Tobias, humming softly to himself. "People will probably be pretty surprised to see me there, to be honest…"
