(I don't think so and thank you!!!!)
(Great, I'll get a starter up soonish hopefully lol.)
(Okay then, take your time!)
Just a week until the season premiere. Finn was beyond excited for this season, he heard that this year they would include a same-sex set of partners. That wasn't normal, but it was about time they did so. He was sitting in his studio, looking at it through the mirrors. His partner was supposed to be coming within the next 5 minutes, so it was just a matter of waiting. Instead of looking productive or anything, he decided to lay down and stare at the ceiling. His fingers were drumming an unknown beat on the floor as he waited, strangely nervous. It shouldn't be strangely nervous though, he's always a little nervous every single season.
Harry cursed at himself for forgetting about something so important as he speed-walked down the hall to the studio he was supposed to be at. I hope it's not someone that's bitchy or rude, or I might go insane. He finally made it to the studio and knocked on the door, sighing softly as he tried to look nice and presentable. In his head, that meant trying to put his hair in a side part that wasn't messy or made him look weird.
Finn jumped, somehow not expecting a knock. He lifted his head to look at the door, not seeing anyone. coming in yet. He sure hoped this person at least could count music or understood dance in some way. One year he had a girl that didn't know anyting about dance or even music for that matter and they got eliminated on the third week. "Come in!" He yelled, hopefully loud enough for the person on the other side of the door to hear. He didn't bother to move from his position on the floor.
Harry opened the door and looked around, looking at the man on the floor and smiling awkwardly at him. Damn, he's pretty. "A-Are you…" He glanced at the writing on his arm. "Mr. Winford?" He asked, realizing he probably shouldn't use Mr., considering he looked so young.
Finley giggled, groaning slightly as he sat up. A big smile was set on his face as his gaze landed on the man in the doorway. His beautiful hair being the first thing that caught his attention. Was this his going to be his dance partner? He stayed quiet for a second, looking at the man and trying to figure out if it was his partner. After a second more of silence, he spoke up. "Oh, yes, I am! Uh, Griffin's my name but just please don't call me that, I would prefer Finn or Finley. Are you my partner this year?" He asked as he stood up with more effort than necessary.
Harry smiled a bit and nodded. "I think so, I don't think they would have made me come to your studio for no reason," he said with a chuckle, trying to seem friendly and nice. He realized he hadn't introduced himself and held his hand out. "I'm Harry."
Finley giggled, smiling as he walked over to the man. "It's great to meet you, Harry!" He said as he took the man's hand. "I know you just got here, but we have a lot of work to do already. Every pair is part of the opening number and each pair also does a separate dance. Next Monday is when that is, so exactly a week. I'm honestly really sorry to put a whole bunch of work on you right from the moment you step into the door, but I want you to win so we need to get this party started, k?"
Harry nodded in response, fully taking a look at the studio now. "It's fine." He ran a hand through his hair. "We can get started right away. By the way, what's the theme for this week?"
"This week there isn't a theme, it's just kinda whatever we want. There are a few types of dance that we can do this week and those are the only ones. There's like jive, foxtrot, salsa, quickstep, or cha-cha I think. So in that case, can you dance?" Finn explained, motioning for Harry to come in more, closing the door behind him.
Harry nodded, walking into the room and letting him close the door. "I think I can dance and we can do anything you like, I don't really have a preference." He's going to say my dancing is horrible and we'll be the first ones eliminated.
"Perfect, you know how to find the beat and timing of the music, yes?" Finn asked, walking into the studio more. "Also, do you have a preference between the 'female part' or 'male part'?" He said with finger quotes, obviously unhappy that it was specified by gender.
(Boop~)
(Sorry about that! School had gotten cancelled because of the virus and everything is confusing!)
Max nodded, looking a bit relieved. "Yea, I do. It's pretty easy." He smiled a bit at the question. "Uh–I'm fine with either one, so it's your choice." He was happy about the fact that his partner wasn't someone who was mean or stritct.
(I totally get that, it's all good. My school was canceled as well, so we're all in the same boat here :)
Finley smiled widely, very glad Harry seemed to know how to dance. "I'll put your skills to work then, let's do some improv partner dancing and I'll see what you can do. And I think we could alternate roles each dance, and sometimes we could both be the same 'role'. Sound good?" He asked as he approached Harry. Finley pulled out his phone and pressed play on the song that was already pulled up. As the song started, he took Harry's hands and started doing the basic step of a partner salsa dance. He wanted to see what the other man knew and how easily he could adapt.
(Beep)
(Sorry again!!)
Harry flushed a bit when he took his hands, quickly snapping out of it and recognizing the steps. He quickly matched him and danced with him, a smile on his face considering this was a piece of cake for him. Even though it's been a while since he's done salsa, it was rather easy to learn for him.
(It's all good :)
Finley smiled brightly, even more excited for this season than he was a little bit ago. Stepping up the difficulty a little, he prompted a spin then started into a harder move. Salsa was one of his favorites, so naturally, he knew quite a few dance moves. The song wasn't super fast, but it wasn't slow or in the middle. It was one of his favorites to dance to as well.
Harry followed Finley, he knew this dance by heart and at this point, his body was basically moving on it's own at this point. So, he tried to focus on the song since he knew the dance, and it sounded pretty good. He made a mental note to ask Finley what the song was called afterwards.
A very bright smile had grown on his lips. "You're really good! I am so much more excited about this season than I was before." Finley beamed. The song was coming to an end, so he did one last spin into a fancy dip. The next song started as Finley helped the other male out of the dip then stopped the song.
Harry thanked him after he helped him out of the dip and stood there awkwardly, fiddling with his bracelets behind his back. "I'm glad, I thought you were going to think I was horrible," He said with a small laugh, happy that Finn didn't think he was bad.
"Even if I did think you were horrible, I would tell you. I would just say you need some work. But you definitely don't need some work, we're gonna be able to do some of my favorite and more difficult moves." Finn jumped up and down a couple of times in excitement. "I'm just so excited and very glad you're my partner. Speaking of being my partner, did you expect to have a male partner? I know it's a random question."
