"Some has to make sure you don't get in trouble," he pointed out. "And that still doesn't answer the root question. What are we doing?"

Deleted user

"I did not bring my bow, sadly," he admitted. "But the walk sounds just fine."

@PrettyLittlePyro

She shrugged. "Whatever."
Raven was really glad she hadn't told Maggie where she had been. Her stepsister always said that if Raven went anywhere without her, she would be furious.

El'eye watched the crowd that surrounded them suspiciously. He was well aware of his friend's royal status and the danger it brought whenever she left the castle, so he kept on high guard for any enterprising assassin looking for foolish glory.

@PrettyLittlePyro

Noticing where her friend's gaze had gone, Raven rolled her eyes. "I'll be fine," she said with an eye roll. "It was only one assassination attempt, and that was three years ago."

"I don't like crowds," he said simply. "There are too many places to hide in plain sight."

"You are thinking of Xaiver. I'm not nearly as durable as an army," he said, glancing down at Raven for a moment before continuing his scan.

"Who knows, there might be a small breeze that sends me flying away," he said without a hint of sarcasm.

@PrettyLittlePyro

Raven knew he was talking about how skinny he was, and ignored it. She wasn't ready to be pulled into this discussion again.
"Do you have anywhere you want to go?"

Deleted user

He shrugged. "It was your decision to leave the castle, so it's your choice."

@PrettyLittlePyro

"Yes, but I just went out because Maggie was smothering me with her boring gossip." She imitated her sister's voice, high pitched and girly.
"Oh, Ray-ray, you simply must do something with your hair! It looks like limp twigs! And stop frowning, you'll grow old faster. Did you know that Lady Mason actually told me that she thought you looked like someone fed you a dead squirrel?"
Raven scowled. "I really hate her," she said, back in her normal voice.

Deleted user

"She's trying to look out for you, Raven," he said, rolling his eyes. "Maybe it's in a weird manner, but she is."

Deleted user

"Ever consider the fact that she did that because can be annoying?" he asked, squinting at something. He stopped dead in his tracks, reaching over his shoulder to grip the handle of his massive sword. "Don't answer that. Just get behind me."

A giant of a man was weaving his way through the crowd, shoving people aside as he made a beeline to the two. He was tall enough that El'eye had to crane his neck to look up at, with dark green skin and teeth as sharp as knives. His clothing was obviously made from leathered animal hide, and a huge club gripped in it's left hand. An orc.
"Step aside, twig," it growled, with a voice that sounded like two salt cubes getting grinded together. "I'm here for the girl."
"If you take two more steps, I'll make sure you pay for your brashness," El'eye said calmly, finally drawing his sword.
It was truly a sight to see. Its blade was wider than both of El'eye's forearms combined, yet he held it with one hand as if it was a fencing sabre.

"Be quiet, I'll get to you soon enough," it growled, then turned back to El'eye. "And what are you gonna do, huh?"
"Take two more steps and find out." The elf was as calm as ever, no fear showing in his eyes.

@PrettyLittlePyro

Raven rolled her eyes. She knew her friend could take care of himself, and she wasn't really worried. She sat down on the ground, fiddling with her black staff.

The orc tested his luck and took two steps, raising his club. Time moved in slow motion for El'eye as he sliced through the wooden club like it was made of butter. The hunk of wood hadn't even hit the ground before he floored the giant orc with a gut punch, putting the blade to the beast's neck as it stared fearfully at El'eye.
"Leave," was all he needed to say for the orc to scramble to his feet and sprint off with a terrified look.

@PrettyLittlePyro

Raven sighed, grinning. "Wow, that was real exciting," she said sarcastically, looking up at her tall friend/bodyguard, still sitting down. "What a wuss," she muttered.

"Stupidity doesn't typically last for long," he agreed, choosing to sit down next to her and sheath his sword once again.
