“Well thank you” he purred. “Anyway, what’s your name?” He asked curiously, realizing he hadn’t even asked for this guy’s name.
“Well thank you” he purred. “Anyway, what’s your name?” He asked curiously, realizing he hadn’t even asked for this guy’s name.
"Kyle Rurrow," He replied, giving him a small smile, "And yours might be?" He leaned forward and rested his arms on the table.
“The name’s Caleb Willis. It’s a pleasure to meet you, Kyle.” He replied, his eyes quickly moving towards the door when it opened. ‘Just a normal customer’ he reassured himself.
Kyle followed his gaze to the door and he frowned a little, "You okay, Caleb?" He looked somewhat paranoid that something was going to happen but Kyle didn't blame him.
“Yup. Just old habits that refuse to die I guess. I mean, I still use them in my job so they have their uses.” He replied calmly, shifting his gaze back to Kyle. “Then again, it’d do everyone in the city a little bit of good to be paranoid.”
Kyle nodded slowly in understanding, "Yeah, you're right. What's your job?" He asked, tilting his head to the side a little.
“Well officially I work for a small security company. People hire us if they want something or someone protected. It’s pretty exciting work actually.” He paused, “oh and sometimes I teach self-defense classes, just for fun.”
"Sounds like fun," Kyle replied with a bright smile, "What type of self defense? Like, any particular style or just self defense in general?"
“It depends really. I know a bunch of different styles so I like to switch it up.” He hummed in reply. He honestly really enjoyed talking about his work.
"Maybe you could teach me sometime. I-If you wanted to… that is." Kyle blushed in embarrassment and bit his lip. And he was back to being the flustered guy he was.
He smiled slightly “I’d love to teach you.” Kyle really was extremely cute. Also, this meant that Kyle actually wanted to see him again. He had to admit that the thought of seeing him more made him happy.
"W-Wait, really?" Kyle's eyes lit up with excitement, "Because y-you don't have to, it was just an idea." He told him quickly through he was still smiling.
“Of course I want to. God knows I need to have some form of human interaction for more than just one day.” He replied, his eyes twinkling.
Kyle let out a quiet giggle and nodded, "True. We'll have to find a time when we're both free then."
“Luckily, the company gives me designated free days, probably so I don’t quit.” He chuckled slightly before continuing, “So my schedule’s pretty flexible.”
Kyle nodded and rubbed at his neck with a sheepish smile, "That's good because I've got class four days a week and work the other three…"
“Yikes! That sounds painful! You poor thing…” he frowned slightly. The poor overworked hooman. “What do you study?”
"Forensic science," Kyle shrugged a shoulder, "It's not that bad… I mean, it's a lot of work but it's fun. Lots of fun and intriguing."
“That does sound really interesting.” He hummed in response. “How long until you graduate?” He asked out of curiosity.
"Well, to get my bachelors degree I have another two years left." Kyle replied, resting his head in his hand.
((What should we have happen next???
(Uh… maybe something happens that reveals Kyle's powers to Caleb?)
Caleb continued the conversation until there was a disturbance at the door. Worldwide Policemen, about 5 of them, they stormed in grabbing a girl who appeared to be in her late teens. The girl protested loudly, trying to fight back against the cops that now restrained her. The whole cafe went silent.
Kyle was shocked. He didn't move yet he could already feel the ice trying to escape from his fingertips, "What's going on?" He asked since clearly no one else was going to.
“Shh, we can’t do anything for her.” He whispered, trying to keep the hate out of his voice. His hands curled into fists that he kept concealed on his lap.
