He smiled at him as he intertwined Kyle’s fingers with his. “Great. Let’s get going then.” He opened up the door, pulling Kyle out with him. After locking the door behind them, they were off. It’d take them about 15 minutes to actually get there.
Kyle swung their hands as they walked. A part of him was glad that Caleb convinced him to go out, the fresh air was cleansing.
Caleb grinned over at him happily, squeezing Kyle’s hand as they walked before he went back to looking around. Even though he’d lived in the city for four years, he still enjoyed the view.
Kyle's smile grew at the squeeze, returning it with one of his own. He himself had lived into the city his whole life and, quite frankly, was slightly bored of the same towering buildings and places. he wanted to visit somewhere green and full of wildlife.
He stayed close to Kyle’s side the entire time, talking about whatever came into his mind, cracking random jokes just so he could hear Kyle laugh and see him smile more. ‘I really do love him more than anything, don’t I?’ He thought to himself happily.
The jokes and stories did make Kyle laugh, though sound light and carefree as he listened. He could hear Caleb talk all day about anything and be happy. He was totally enamored by Caleb it was insane.
“And we’re here.” He announced, opening the door for Kyle with a smile. Inside, it seemed just as normal as the first time they were there, kind of a relief after all they’d gone through.
Kyle giggled softly, "Why thank you." He stepped inside, taking a deep breath and inhaling the sweet smell of sugar and coffee. It was comforting, and he wished they came more often.
Caleb’s smile widened and he stepped in after Kyle. “Soooo what do we wanna order babe?” He asked from behind him, wrapping his arms around Kyle’s shoulders as he looked up at the menu.
Kyle hummed softly, leaning back into Caleb's arms with a happy sigh, "Not sure.. something caramel, thought, I'm carving sweet."
“Hmm okay then.” His eyes quickly scanned the menu. “Maybe that one?” He said, pointing at the one he meant. “I’m probably just gonna get coffee myself.”
"Yeah, a caramel frap sounds nice," He replied, "I'll have one of those please." He smiled up at Caleb.
He smiled back at him. “Okay then good sir. How about you go find us a nice spot and I’ll order our drinks.” He let go of Kyle, but not before kissing his cheek.
Kyle blushed lightly and he nodded, slipping out of Caleb's arms, "Okay!" He headed off to find a seat in the small store, stumbling across one in the sunlight of a nearby window.
Caleb stepped up to the counter, ordering their drinks, waiting for them, and grabbing them off the counter, heading over to their spot. “One caramel frappe for the cutest guy in the cafe.” He said, handing over the drink with a smile.
He rolled his eyes, even though he was grinned as he took the drink, "Thank you," He replied, taking a sip, "And I think the cutest guy here is you not me."
“Nuh uh. There’s no way in the world that’s possible.” He remarked as he sat down, taking a sip of his coffee.
Kyle waved a hand dismissively, wrapping both hands around his drink a second later, "Mhm, sure sure, whatever you say Caleb."
“It’s true. I have proof. Because when I flirted with you for the first time in this cafe, I knew I was going up to the cutest guy in the room. Not me. You.”
"That may be so, but I don't see myself as 'cute' so therefor I can't agree with your statement."
“Fine. But I will always think of you as the cutest guy in the entire world.” He said with a charming wink.
Kyle rolled his eyes, though he still blushed and suppressed his smile, "I know you will. And I think you're the hottest guy in the entire world but you already knew that."
Caleb smiled happily and was about to say more when someone spoke up from behind him.
“Caleb?”
Caleb turned around, looking at who’d interrupted them. “Oh hey Veronica! What brings you here?”
“Uh coffee idiot.” She flicked him in the forehead.
“Ow! I was just asking because your apartment isn’t that close.” He scowled.
Kyle smiled at the two, shifting his gaze to Veronica, "Her Veronica, long time no see." He replied, letting out a soft giggle.
Veronica smiled, waving at him before going back to bullying- I mean talking to Caleb. “Well somebody” she glared at a girl who was now approaching their group, “made us come all the way here because they give the most espresso shots here.” By the time Veronica finished her sentence, the girl had completely made her way over there, resting her chin on Veronica’s shoulder. And the girl looked about ready to fall on her face from exhaustion.
“I’m sorryyyyyy” the girl whined out, sounding absolutely miserable. She looked different without the mask, and her signature hair was a bedheaded mess, but it was most definitely Electrica.
