(just dropping this off before bed, I'll see you in the morning)
Oscar promptly accelerated, sending them racing down the road between the fields. At first he was still nervous, but with every passing minute his confidence grew as he began to get the hang of driving. they reached a paved road and he turned onto it, slowing them down just enough so that they didn't skid into the wrong lane. "Speed limit here is 65," he said, pressing down harder on the gas pedal. "Where are we going now, Honor? Are we going back to town?"

@gracehustle

"I don't know…do you sense any of them following us?" She asked, glancing out of the side mirror and realizing now how parents felt when their kids drove while they were in the passenger seat. It was terrifying, and she hoped that Oscar knew what he was doing.

"No, they're sitting still right now," Oscar replied, nudging the truck just a tiny bit to the right as a semi roared past in the opposite lane. "I think…I think they can track us somehow, but not very easily. Maybe they can only see me when they're close enough…..or maybe they just followed us out of town." He was completely calm by now–in fact he almost seemed to be enjoying himself. "Either way, if they find us again and attack us, I'm sure I can fight them off. They're just normal humans, I can tell that much."

@gracehustle

Honor nodded, going silent for a minute as her mind whirled and tried to whip together even a slight plan, "Alright…do you know where they're sitting still? Like how close to town?" Her plan so far was rocky at best and could easily get them caught, but she figured leaving town for a while would be good. She did want to grab things from her house first though, at least necessities and some food.

@gracehustle

"As long as they aren't going anywhere at the minute I think there's time to stop back at my house for a little bit and grab some things, but after that, I think it would be better if we leave for a while so it's not as easy for them to catch you." She suggested, knowing that the best plan of action would be to have Oscar hide somewhere out of their range while she got things, then meeting back up.

@gracehustle

Honor sighed and drummed her fingers on the dashboard, trying to explain her plan, "So, I was actually thinking it would be much safer for you if you didn't come back into town. They're going to be looking for you there..so I was thinking instead that I could drop you off somewhere and go back. I would be back as quick as I possibly could and I would bring your things as well. Would you be ok with that?" She looked over at him, slightly nervous that he wouldn't want to go along with the plan.

@gracehustle

She nodded in response, thinking for a minute and looking back out the window, "The only thing is trying to find somewhere safe for you to stay…maybe the library in the next town up. You can stay there for as long as it takes me to get everything and I don't think they'll check a library when looking for you." Honor smiled slightly at her idea, proud of it even though it was one of the easiest parts to figure out how to deal with.

@gracehustle

(Hi! XD)
"Yeah, it should be the next exit up and you just turn off onto it, then I'll tell you directions from there." She was relieved that he at least liked the layout of the arrangement, especially since it would keep both of them much safer than if they both went into town and tried to avoid the trucks. With a set plan in place as well, she started to think about what she needed to grab, especially what were necessities.

Oscar followed her directions carefully, remembering to signal when he took the exit and not slow down too fast as he went. He was starting to think he enjoyed driving, and was actually kind of having fun making use of his new book-learning, despite the dangerous situation. "Hey, when you come back from your house, can I drive some more? I'm doing a pretty good job at it, right?"

@gracehustle

Honor shrugged, then nodded with a small smile, "Maybe once we get further away from town, but yes, you can drive again." It was risky having him drive without a license, but she wasn't terribly worried since she had done it herself when she was younger, though she would never admit it. There weren't many other cars out, even as this town was slightly bigger than where Honor lived.

@gracehustle

"Yup, it's that building on the corner there." She pointed to a building a few blocks up and smiled, looking at the two-floored building and then over at Oscar, "What do you think so far? Is this one a little bigger than the one by my house?"

@gracehustle

Honor nodded, smiling, "Some of the books might be the same but yes, you'll have to be fast." She pointed to where the small parking lot was that he could pull into, knowing she would most likely stay for a few minutes to make sure he knew what he was doing before she would leave.

@gracehustle

"At the most…I'll be gone an hour and a half, after that start getting worried." She decided, knowing that would give her enough time to do everything she needed and also leave extra time if anything went wrong. "One thing though, if you sense any people that are tracking you or anything like that, you have to be careful. I don't want you leaving here unless its absolutely necessary, but also don't hurt anyone. Just blend in." Honor could hear herself rambling as she worried and she paused, taking a deep breath and sighing, "Just be safe, alright? I'll be back quicker than you can get through half the books in here."

@gracehustle

Honor gave a small nod and a tight-lipped smile in response before turning to the truck, wasting no time as she hopped in and let the truck rumble back to life. She got herself situated and then quickly made her way back onto the roads, watching the library fade away in the distance. It worried her a little, leaving Oscar alone like that, but she didn't have time to worry, pulling her focus back to driving and making sure she wasn't going over the speed limit as she drove back towards town.

Oscar watched her go, then entered the library and started exploring. It was a bit busier in this library than the other, so he tried his best not to draw attention to himself as he perused the shelves. Honor turned out to be right about the catalogue of books here—many of them were books he'd just read at the other library, so he quickly skipped over them. Soon he was settled into a rhythm, skimming through the building and collecting new knowledge at incredible speeds.

@gracehustle

There weren't any cars that worried her as she made it back to town, though she kept her senses on high alert as she parked in her driveway and shut the truck off. Quickly locking the car, she headed inside and started gathering things immediately, starting from the bathroom and bedrooms and bringing things into the living room to pack once she got everything together. Most of the things she brought were just the necessities, clothes for them both, whatever she needed from the bathroom, and most importantly two duffle bags.

Oscar continued to read as he waited for Honor to return, trying to control his growing worry. Despite his attempts to distract himself, he actually ran out of books quite quickly, and had to resort to investigating something else: the computer room. He still wasn't sure how to use the strange machines, so after a moment he reluctantly approached a librarian and asked her how to log in. She was very polite and helpful, to his relief, and soon he was curiously opening up a search engine to see what he could find there.
