"Always." She smiled and began to play.
"Always." She smiled and began to play.
*half an hour of playing later *
Zenith hasn't said a word, not even after he wins- or the few times he's lost. He stares at the screen like it's an opponent in a game of chess and he's trying to make them back down. His eyes are narrowed and he grits his teeth, practically growling at the screen when his vehicle is knocked into an obstacle by an NPC.
Evelyn just played, happy when she won, angry when she lost. When she got tired of playing she set it down and cracked her knuckles. "I forgot how much wii remotes tire your arms out."
Zenith's eyes clear. He blinks a few times. "Heh, yeah." He doesn't mention that the pain and discomfort is barely noticable to him. He's been through so much, its like crying over a paper cut when you got stabbed the day before.
She wiggled out her hands and sighed a bit, then leaned on him. "You're really good at Mario Kart. I play it all the time at home."
Zenith smiles. "I have fast reflexes from fighting." He explains. "Makes me pretty good at video games." He notes that he's starting to become less stressed when touched. Huh.
"… are we positive you don't have superpowers? No normal person is this…" he makes a wild gesture, looking for the right word. After a moment, he settles on, "… perfect."
She blushed at that and turned away. "Pshhh…perfect? N-no…" She shook her head, hiding her face away from him. "Nobodies perfect. I sure have my faults as the next person."
Zenith scoffs. "Uh huh, you're not perfect. And I don't have a healing factor."
She blushed even more. "Now you quit making me blush like this…" She said hottily, turning away from him. "I am not perfect. It doesn't exist. Everyone and everything has it's faults."
Zenith arches an eyebrow. "Of course perfect exists. I'm looking right at her."
She squeaked and hid in the blanket, now having been blushed into a silence. She was unsure of what to say or how to react really.
Zenith tilts his head. "Did I do something wrong?" He asks.
She shook her head beneath the blanket. "I-I'm fine…" She squeaks out, all embarrassed. She definitely wouldn't be coming out of the blanket for awhile, willingly anyways. (She thinks she's all rough and tough but she's just a bean)
"Hey now. Don't lie to me. I don't much like liars." Zenith parrots, repeating her own words back to her. He lifts up the blanket and hides under it with her.
Their faces are inches apart, and they're all scrunched together. Zenith smiles. "Hi."
She looked down, all red faced, so then his face was all pressed into her hair. She then sighed and pulled him on top of of her, and cuddled him closer, burying her red face into his chest.
Zenith is startled a little by the sudden hug, but, well, he's not complaining. He smiles, and puts his arms around her.
She smiled and snuggled him closer. "You need to STOP making me blush."
Zenith just smiles. "I didn't even do anything! I'm just stating facts!" Why does he feel like this is not the answer she wants?
"Facts schmats. Facts and opinions are two different things ya dork." She shook her head.
Zenith nods. "Exactly! Your opinion is that you're not perfect, and I'm counteracting the opinion with the fact that you are!"
"Yeah but what if YOU'RE opinion is wrong?" She asked, doubt in her face as she sassed him off.
Zenith rolls his eyes. "No, you have an opinion, I have facts." He shoots back.
"Liar." She rolled her eyes and poked his nose.
Zenith does his impression of a cat getting hit in the face with cheese. "I only lie when I'm backed into a corner."
"And who says you aren't backed into a corner now, dork?" She asked, looking up at him.
