Nusites are one of the more fearsome aliens out there, with ability to survive in the vacuum of space and in conditions no one would think any living thing could.

And yet a species so strong could not survive long on the conditions on Earth. Only 76 hours, maximum.

Without a host.

Nusites rely on hosts to survive the conditions they are unable to. A Nusite can force a host (either becoming an unstable host, where eventually the Nusite could kill the host) or bond with one successfully (creating a stable, safer host where the being or Nusite can take control at their leisure.) Both outcomes create the Mark of Nusite. Once host for a Nusite, and receiving this mark (often dark, inky in appearance and appearing on the neck, chest, ankle or wrist) means the being can no longer bond with another Nusite until they or the Nusite dies. The latter being a dead end, considering Hosts will generally die with the Nusite. Nusites however, can have multiple hosts.

An Unstable Host can convert into a Stable Host.

Humans live life without knowledge of Nusites, for the most part. To come across one would come as a shock. Only a small percentage of the world knows of Nusites, and even then, information is limited. When knowledge gets out of a Nusite, it should be captured immediately, hopefully before it finds a host. If it finds a host, it may make it difficult.

So who’s to say when one of them Nusites ends up on Earth? Already working under a deadline here (emphasis on dead) the Nusite must move fast to find a perfect host. Something that works well.

Who knows? It might be your lucky or unlucky day.

Hi, so first RP on here. Hoping someone joins. Some brief info here is that I’d prefer to play as the Nusite, but I will give you pretty good freedom with making your character.

Here are the rules.

  1. Auto hitting (basically means automatically hitting something, typically the other role player) is not that welcome in my RPs. Say your character gets startled by the Nusite, you might say your character (Name) attempts to hit the strange being with a shoe or something more detailed than that. I’d then respond either with any effects or the results, either a direct hit, slight hit, or complete miss. And it works in reverse too.
  2. I would prefer a minimum of 3 lines, with no one liners. Good grammar is also a plus, but I do not require it.
  3. Blood and violence to be expected, but keep within knowledge that you don’t need to graphically describe it.
  4. Cussing is to be expected, so it’s allowed.
  5. Do try to post often, but I tend to go inactive for some short periods of time. Feel free to bump the RP, do not be afraid of double posting.
  6. All of the RP rules apply.
  7. List might change.

The setting for this is in a somewhat large (but spread out city.) tall buildings, short buildings and apartments galore.
Here is the template.

Romance isn’t as expected in this RP, I’d expect the relationship in this to be more platonic than romantic if anything. Any gender is fine, male, female, whatever works.

@ElderGod-Carrots

Name: Jackson ‘Jack’ Hardwidge

Gender: male

Age: 21

Sexuality: bi-sexual

Nationality: English-Welsh

Employment: currently works at a small coffee shop at the end of his street. It’s a nice place, very cosy and has a warm atmosphere. He’s been working there for about 3 years now.

Status: Physically, he’s healthy. More on the skinny side but not unfit in anyway. Mentally, he deals with anxiety and depression and has been dealing with those since he was a teenage. Is currently on medication but is getting better and healthier.

Appearance: Jack is around 5’7, on the shorter side of an adult male. He has very pale skin with pink undertones, very soft and clear skin. Has freckles all over his body, especially over his cheeks. He has soft, light brown hair that’s leaning towards ginger but not quite there yet. He had golden, honey brown eyes. Small button nose, soft light pink lips. Dimples when he smiles. Looks very innocent and that’s because he is. Has a lot of scars on his wrists and things and one around his neck. Al of these are mainly coveted by long sleeved sweaters/jumpers and jeans.

Personality: Jack is a very kind, caring person, very much a soft guy. He is nice to everyone and anything he meets, though comes off as shy and reserved at times. Once he warms up to a person he is very bubbly, or tries to put up that front. Deals with a lot of negative thoughts and self talk still, but it isn’t as bad as it used to be. Is generally a happy person during the day but when he’s among can get very sad and down. He tried to use what he’s learnt in therapy along with his medication to stop those thoughts and most of the time it works. Doesn’t get angry that often, though when he does it can be pretty scary.

Backstory: Grew up in a small town in England, on the coastline outside of Bristol. He loved with his dad as his mum died while giving birth. They didn’t have much money so his dad always worked. His dad was also abusive and neglectful towards his son. Was bullied during high school and all these combined things have holy he mental problems he has now. Moved to America when he was 19.

Housing: Lives in a nice apartment not far away from where he works. He loves the place as it’s always flooded with light and decorated with different plants. He doesn’t have any pets but there is a stay cat that visits called Shadow. Most residents in the apartment building know him.

Skills: Very good at drawing and painting, resulting in a lot of sketches around his apartment and a lot of paint splatters in the apartment too, also on his close. Can sing and play piano. Great swimmer.

Goals: Wants to become a vet as he loves animals.

Other: N/A

Looks good!

Name: Tio
Gender: Technically ‘none,’ referred to as female and has that sort of voice however
Age: 22 Human years
Sexuality: A little complicated, asexual most likely. Romantic orientation is more complicated.
Nationality: Alien, originating from a planet not Earth, therefore no nationality unless she decides to be considered as such.
Employment: None.
Status: Been on Earth for 36 hours as of beginning of RP, required to stay in a smaller form (but can move into larger forms for short periods of times) in order to conserve energy. Healthy as far as Nusites go aside from that one point.

Appearance: Like all Nusites, Tio is ‘inky’ in appearance. Almost taking on a semi solid, semi liquid form, Tio can shift to move just about anywhere. At full height, Tio is around 2 metres, or 6’6 in height, average for her species. She takes on a humanoid form, with saurian features (typically around the limbs) visible. No eyes or ears visible, as well as a nose. She does have a visible mouth sometimes, though.
Otherwise, Tio can shrink down to as small as 30 cm in length. In this form she isn’t humanoid at all, more ‘snake like’ with relatively no features. Her ‘skin’ is a dark colour, almost like a charcoal.

Personality: Tio can be very rushing and impulsive, doing whatever it takes for survival especially if panicked. In the pause of action, Tio is curious, liking to learn new things. She’ll listen to what others are saying and remember them; Tio pays close attention. This is only applied when she’s not in a dire situation.
Being a completely different species, Tio often sees humans weak unless they are Hosts. She doesn’t dislike them per-say, but Tio can be a bit passive-aggressive or full on aggro. She’s not much of a negotiator, either, but as I said before Tio is willing to listen, unless she’s dead set on something.
Backstory: Her origins originate on a planet only briefly studied by humans. The Nusites remain unknown on their homeworld, though some humans do know about Nusites.
Tio lived on her homeworld for quite a while. Without a host. She was able to survive perfectly fine on that planet, up until the arrival of a ‘strange metal object’. Nusites will take almost any opportunity to get off world, often to receive a Host. Tio decided to bite the opportunity and latch onto the shuttle.
Things did not go right, however. A couple miscalculations later and the shuttle is broken down after coming into collision with some asteroids. Tio is able to hang on in a somewhat dormant state, but wakes right back up upon entry to Earth. The shuttle is so small that it can just be seen as a shooting star, but Tio manages to survive entry and reawakens on the dangerous environment of..Earth.
Now she’s got limited time to find a Host. If she even will, rather. And hopefully avoid detection by those that know of Nusites, and wish to exploit them.
Housing: Not really anywhere in particular. Just wherever her host is, whenever she finds one.
Skills: Tio is very agile for a Nusite. Despite being impulsive, she can be very good with getting around quickly. She’s also got a powerful sense of smell, raising her ability to track things. Good with climbing and not fearing heights.
Goals: First order of things; find a Host. Second order, Survive.
Other: N/A for now

Did you have any questions before we start, and did you want me to begin or should I?

Being on Earth was the last thing Tio expected. As far as she was aware, Earth had a deadly atmosphere to her species. She had roughly 40 hours left..a day and a little over a half, maybe? Before she fizzled away, anyways.

The Nusite had arrived into the city not that long ago. She moved quite fast, especially in this form. Especially in any form, rather. Her current form was her smaller one, grasping along the ground in order to pull herself forwards, almost like a slingshot to fling herself over bigger distances. But when she got into places with people, Tio knew to stay low. In the shadows, to the sides. It was hard to be noticed if you were darkly coloured in…well, the dark.

She was getting ready to ‘fling’ herself forwards; and well, she did; until she made contact with a wall. Tio faltered, slowing down almost completely to inspect the wall.

The wall was solid, which was probably why the stop was so sudden. Tio could not move through completely solid objects for the most part. A small tendril of hers stuck out, and she gripped at the material of the wall. She could climb just about anything in her much larger forms, but this form made it a little harder. But this wall - it felt easy enough to climb.

In any other direction, Tio saw people. So if you couldn’t go anywhere else..go up, of course! Tio began to scale the wall. She stayed low and close to it, almost hugging it as she moved. At a much slower pace, in comparison to previous speeds.

She had only been climbing for a little when she realized this wall was apart of a much larger structure. What caused that realization were the windows she felt. The material of the windows was much harder to climb on. She moved to the side and went around the first window, but when the second window came up, Tio paused, moving back to inspect it.

The window was not opened, but maybe the first one was? Tio moved downwards even more slowly, attempting not to fall. Which she succeeded with. She looked into the window, nosing around. And then - her luck - the window was opened already. Not by very much, of course. The resident probably didn’t even know it was opened, the opening being so small. But could a Nusite fit into it? Yes, she could.

Now her questions were..did she want to go in? Into this foreign place? She wasn’t sure if anyone was there. Tio flattened herself against the wall slightly, sitting at an angle which allowed her to peer into the building and see a limited view. Tio wasn’t in a rush.

Maybe she would just wait here and watch to see if anything happened. If nothing happened..Tio would enter.

@ElderGod-Carrots

Jackson hummed softly to himself, music playing through his earphones as he headed down the street away from his work, Sweet Tooth. It was a very popular cafe in his area, in the big city. It was mainly popular for the amazing coffee and weird and wacky hot chocolates they made. Jack loved it. He loved the atmosphere, the food, the drink, everything. All his colleagues were true friends, and the only friends he really had.

The small male entered his apartment building, heading straight for the elevator and to his apartment. He'd been working since early in the morning and was in need of a nap before his university lecture later that night. The only thing he disliked about Thursday's was the fact that his class was so late in the evening. Well it wasn't that late, but for someone who worked most of the day, came home to do more work and then went out to a class it was late.

He pulled his keys out his pocket, unlocking the door to his place and entering. He breathed in deeply, the scent of tea and vanilla surrounding him as he shut the door. It was a comforting thing, to come home and feel safe, something he hadn't experienced much in his life.

He placed his bag on the counter top of the kitchen bench, grabbing a glass of water before he turned on the TV. He didn't even notice the small, alien creature at his window, too focused on what he was doing to even look towards the window.

Tio was probably going to end up entering either way, was what she actually meant. The Nusite seemed to watch as one of the humans, the ‘main’ species on this planet according to what Tio had observed, entered the room she had been watching. The angle she was at prevented her from seeing everything, but she knew that he was still in the building, as she had not observed him leaving.
Tio slinked towards the window, flattening herself even more than before just to creep under the small opening. She was incredibly quiet, though she was sure that the speed she was sneaking at was very slow. So slow that if someone were to have turned around at this very moment, they would have noticed on what seems to be some ink like substance seeping in. And yet, Tio left no trails; no sign that she had entered through the window in the first place.

New order of business: get to a better vantage point. Now that she was mostly inside, Tio looked around with nonexistent; or at least non visible; eyes. The TV caught her attention momentarily; but she turned away from it, she couldn’t let small things drift her away from current priorities.

Tio spotted what could be her next hiding spot; under a piece of furniture or something within the room. She could fit well under there. She began to prepare to move again. Tio readied herself to ‘slingshot’ towards hiding, just as she had been doing minutes ago outside. The Nusite nearly flew towards the fridge, making a limited amount of noise as she hit her target and slinked under the darkness of the fridge.

Tio, now safely hidden, but unsure if she was compromised right now, swayed slightly in her spot as she moved to get the best vantage site possible. This was much better than the window however, as she could see so much more.

@ElderGod-Carrots

Jack turned around just as Tio managed to get into hiding. He noticed something move, but couldn't figure out what it was so just ignored it. He sighed softly, shaking his head to himself as he wandered into the kitchen, placing the empty glass int he kitchen sink.

It was weird, because he felt like there was something in the kitchen or in the apartment with him. he knew he was probably just being paranoid. It could have been Shadow but he couldn't see the stray cat anywhere. And the window wasn't open so he couldn't get in even if he wanted.

Jack frowned. It was just paranoia. There was nothing in here with him, he just needed to calm down, do some work or take a nap. No, sleeping was out of the option since he was already on edge. He headed out of the kitchen and grabbed his laptop, sitting at the counter as he set to work on his school assignment.

Tio watched the human carefully, not looking away for even a second as she watched. This was a much better spot than before for sure. Now came her thoughts again. Hosts. Could this be a host for her? Maybe even a temporary one. Tio was unsure, to say the least. She had never had a host, after all.

Even then, getting a host was tricky. Most beings freaked out when they saw a strange alien slither towards them. She had around 40 hours left, hopefully enough, however.

Tio moved towards the exit from under the fridge, though did not move out into the light just yet. Just to observe her surroundings, look for her next location..there.

The Nusite crept back under the fridge and prepared herself again to dart forwards. She made her way rather quickly towards the kitchen bench, almost like a frightened insect moving across the floor after being spotted.
And under the bench she went. Tio stayed silent and very still, waiting a few seconds to see if she had been spotted yet. If not, she’d continue to move. If she had.. well, she would continue anyways.

@ElderGod-Carrots

That time Jack did see her, though he didn't know what exactly it was that he saw. He stood quickly from his seat, leaning over the counter top to get a better look at what he'd seen. When he couldn't see what it was, he took a few steps back and go ton his hands and knees, looking under the bench in the direction the thing had went. There was a small slither of light that just illuminated Tio and Jack's eyes widened.

He stumbled backwards, confusion written over his features. He wasn't scared, well maybe a little but from his view it felt like some kind of strange bug. They didn't get snakes in his area thank the lord, but strange bugs were common. He grabbed his shoe, waiting for whatever it was to come out so he could kill it. There was no way in hell he was little a bug stay in his apartment.

Deleted user

Compromised. She was compromised.

Tio knew she had been spotted by the human. Now, fight or flight?

Tio slithered back slightly, still under the bench. She was going to exit at some point. So why not now? Just as she had been doing moments earlier, Tio basically slingshotted herself out of hiding and across the floor, behind the human. But instead of turning back around, Tio began to quickly move away, almost running around the apartment in a frenzy. Like she was unsure of her next location. Well, she was.

One tendril in front of the other, pull herself forwards, let the momentum move herself and repeat. Tio needed to find somewhere else quickly.

@ElderGod-Carrots

Jack quickly stood up. He fond a nearby plastic container, one he'd recently washed from his lunch the other day. It took a few seconds and moments of watching whatever this thing was try and find an exit point, before eventually he slid forwards, trying placing the plastic container over the top of the thing.

Now that he'd had a few moments to look at the thing, he realised there was no way in hell it was a bug. He didn't even think it was an animal at this point. It honestly reminded him of something out of a movie.

Deleted user

Tio was having some trouble at this point finding an exit. Not even giving herself a pause to look around, it came as a surprise when she was trapped under the sudden appearance of a container. Going at such speeds, she crashed into the inside of the container, moving around the insides of it before realizing that she was trapped.

Once that realization came along, Tio moved to the centre of it, curling inwards and going somewhat still as she awaited whatever was next.

@ElderGod-Carrots

Jack sighed in relief. He grabbed a scrap piece of paper, sliding it under the container and making sure whatever was inside of it as on, before he picked it up, taking it over to the counter. He placed it down, taking a book to place on top of the container so he didn't have to hold it down.

He leaned back in his chair a moment later, frowning at the thing, "The hell are you…?" He mumbled.

Deleted user

Tio moved slightly once the container stopped moving. She began to move around within it, inspecting it, and the paper. She went back to the centre of the container again.

Upon hearing his voice, Tio saw an opportunity. Lifting part of her body up, almost in similar movement to an alert snake, Tio responded in a calm tone. “Tio.” Having no visible mouth, it was hard to tell if the voice came from her or not. She looked around.

@ElderGod-Carrots

Jack nearly squeaked. It could talk? He leaned in a little, getting down to eye level with… Tio, "Tio… and what um.. exactly are you?" He asked. He was talking to a black, moving blob of goo. This was not what he had expected when he woke up this morning.

Deleted user

What seemed to be Tio’s head moved slightly closer to the walls of the container. “Nusite. A foreign creature from off-world..aka alien, as one might put it.” She responded.

@ElderGod-Carrots

Jack raised a brow, letting out a laugh in disbelief, "Nope, no way. Aliens don't exist," He crossed his arms, leaning them against the counter, "You're a… a remote controlled robot or something, you have to be."
