Loki laughed a little at their sister, ruffling her hair sweetly before humming in content. Loki always loved hearing their dad's talk about their high school romance, it was always cute. Sorrel was transfixed on his husband, love filling his expression. He squeezes his husband's hand, "Yes, but you pulled off the look wonderfully, not to mention I loved how nerdy you were." He hummed and pressed a kiss to Jas's hand. "You were the most beautiful man I had ever set my eyes on." He murmured quietly. "I was quite the looker in my high school prime." He says boldly, before pressing a kiss to his husbands cheek, "But I only ever had eyes for your dad." That was very true. All through high school, he had only dated Jas. "Lucky for me, I managed to sweet him right off his feet." Loki snickered, "Didn't that happen at the ice rink on your first date? You ran into papa and you both fell on the ice?"
Jas’ blush only grew more as they kept talking about their dating life but he didn’t shy away from the his husband’s affection. He pressed a sweet kiss to his temple in return. “He did indeed, both figuratively and literally. The poor thing was latched onto my arm for the whole evening. Now whether that was his inability to ice skate or some other reason, we’ll never know, will we darling?” He laughed and stood, having finished off his dinner. He pressed a kiss to Sorrels hand and then his lips before squeezing his hand gently. “My loves, when you’re done with dinner , finish up homework. Then we can go out for desert. I don’t think we’re gonna make one here today.” He said to the kids before going to the kitchen to begin cleaning the dishes as well as to put away the left over food for tomorrow.
Sorrel was and is a very affectionate person. He gave affection to his husband, he gave affection to his kids, he was just a loving person really. He smiled a t the kiss before flushing in embarrassment. "In my defense, it was my first time ice skating. I've gotten much better." He huffed quietly before finishing up his dinner. He stood slowly and followed after his husband, helping clean and put away food. "Why don't you go relax, baby? You've already made dinner." He murmured quietly, wrapping his arms around Jas's waist and peppering his shoulder and neck with kisses. "I can clean up in here." He sighed in content, his eyes shutting for a moment as he let himself bask in his husband's presence for a moment.
Jas hummed softly, leaning slightly into Sorrel’s embrace. He gently raised Sorrels hand to his lips and pressed feather light kisses to his fingertips, then pressed their interlaced hands to his chest, right above his heart. “Hm, I don’t mind. Besides the kids can finish the dishes later or tomorrow morning. After all, you helped with dinner too.” He turned slightly and pressed a kiss to Sorrel’s lips, teasingly nipping at his lower lip. “Have any ideas for dessert? I know we have a few options around for restaurants and cafes, including yours.” He said, finishing up the dishes and putting them in the drying rack. He put the larger pans and dishes away, leaving the kids the smaller dishes and utensils. He did another sweep of the kitchen, adjusting minor thing and wiping down the countertop before finally relaxing. He guided Sorrel over to the living room couch and flopped down with him in his arms, holding him as close as humanly possible and burying his face in his neck, pressing kisses to skin
Sorrel loved it when his husband kissed him. It always felt like their first kiss, warm and filling him with butterflies. He hummed and leaned against his husbands shoulder, nodding a little, feeling the pulse of Jas' heartbeat. "That sounds like a plan, and the perfect excuse for us to be lazy." He giggles quietly. He kissed Jas back, a content smile falling onto his lips. "I was going to say I could have you for dessert, however that can wait. I promised Athena we could go get ice cream tonight, if that's okay with you baby?" He helped with putting away the bigger dishes. Sorrel walked after his husband into the living room, settling into the others lap and letting out a content sigh. He shut his eyes as he leaned into Jas, a small smile on his lips. "God, I love you." He whispers. "I got so lucky." He murmured. Loki snickers softly at the two of them before returning their attention to their homework.
“Lucky indeed my love.” Jas murmured back in reply, peppering Sorrel with kisses as he combed through his hair with one hand while his other hand rested on his side. He smiled happily and glanced over at Sorrel, “I love you too.” He pressed a tender kiss to his brow, peeking over at the kids in the living room, winking as he caught Loki’s glance. He chuckled lightly, nuzzling his neck. He adored Sorrel as well as their children so much. He had never believed that he’d be this happy at this point of his life, much less with a family. Near the beginning he worried that the love would die out and they’d all live mundane lives, but, thankfully, that didn’t happen. Sorrel and him had found ways to keep their spark alive even with kids to raise.
“I promise you, I’m all yours my love.” He purred softly, pressing a kiss to the tip of Sorrel’s ear. “Ice cream sounds great for tonight. Anywhere you had planned?” He asked, already thinking of a fee places they could find ice cream later in the day.
Sorrel smiled at all the kisses, it was no secret that he thrived with attention, which is why he was so grateful that Jas showered him in affection. He nuzzles into his husband, pressing a kiss to his jaw. He adored his husband and loved his kids. This life could not be more perfect. He shifts into a more comfortable position, pressing a kiss to his lip. "Can we go to the one that's closer? That way we can walk and enjoy the evening?" He whispers, playing with Jas's fingers, giving his husband the best puppy dog eyes he could muster. He pressed kisses along his jaw and neck. Loki casually shields Athena's eyes from their parents, laughing softly. They were glad that their parents were so affectionate with each other, it was so cute.
Has laughed softly, having never really been all that good at resisting any of Sorrel’s pleas, especially when paired with his puppy eyes and kisses. He swore the kids defiantly got that from him. “My love,” He murmured softly, tilting his head slightly and shutting his eyes in content. He captured his husband’s lips with his own, savoring his taste for a moment before gently pulling away. “Of course my love.” Returning kisses to Sorrel’s neck and jaw. “You’re absolutely adorable, you do know that right?” He murmured, lacing their hands together and kissed the back of sorrel’s “I heard from the students that there’s going to a carnival soon. We could always stop by there as well, depending on how late it is.” He mused, smiling softly as he heard giggling from the dining room. “I think we may be distracting someone.” He whispered.
Athena nudged away Loki’s hand with a smile and went back to doing her homework, mostly just shading in the right shapes to the number amount. “How come you can watch and I can’t?” She whined, laughing softly and nudging her sibling, peeking over their shoulder to see what they were working on “whatcha doin?”
He smiled when he heard Jas laugh, knowing that was a good thing. He pressed a kiss to his lips warmly, cupping his jaw, pressing closer, and nuzzling into his beloved his husband. He hummed and glanced at Jas. "I'm only adorable for you." He cooed softly. He squeezed his husbands hand in thought before nodding, "I think that would be fun! The kids will love it." He whispers. He presses another kiss to Jas's neck and leaned against his shoulder with a content sigh. "Mmmm, well the kiddo's can handle it. I haven't been able to snuggle with the love of my life all day. Physical affection is extremely important I'll have you know." He nuzzled into his husbands neck and gave a happy sigh.
Loki chuckled at their little sisters words, humming quietly. "Probably since you're so young." They ruffled her hair kindly before glancing down at their paper. "I am currently writing an outline for one of my essays." They pull Athena into their lap and kiss the top of her head. "But let's get your homework done first, eh?" They smile as they help Athena a bit with her homework.
"oh it definitely is my dearest," Jas agreed, pressing a kiss to his beloved's head and smiling adoringly at Sorrel. He gently pulled him closer, tucking him safely beneath his chin and snuggling with him deeper into the couch. He lightly toyed with the hem of Sorrel's shirt, his hands lightly grazing his bare skin and trailing the dips and curves of his abdomen and sides. "Thank you for breakfast this morning," he murmured appreciatively, pressing kisses to Sorrel's cheek. He rested his head against Sorrel's with a soft smile, thinking g back to when they had first dated, now finding most of it cheesy but still much adorable.
Athena sighed softly and nodded happily, pulling over her work and crayons she had been using. "Almost done, just a few more questions." SHe said, glancing over curiously at the essay outline. "What's it about?" She asked, coloring in more of shapes. "I hope I don't have to do that soon, that's a lot of words."
(Bopping very lightly no rush)
(Sorry! I thought I replied!)
Sorrel giggled at the kisses, a sweet smile following over his lips as he curled up into his beloved husbands chest. This was his favorite part of the day, he wanted to stay here, but he also wanted to go and get a treat with his kids. He pressed a kiss to Jas's neck, moving closer. "I love you." He whispers, nuzzling into the others chin. He pressed closer, sapping off his husbands warmth. "Of course darling." He giggles a bit, "I'm glad you liked the breakfast." He hummed, his arms around the other's shoulder in content, a satisfied hum leaving his lips. He shut his eyes in relaxation, a soft sigh leaving his lips.
Loki laughed quietly and shook their head. "No worries, you won't have to do this for a while. As for what I'm writing, it's about whether or not technology is going to be the savior or Achille's heel of humanity." They snicker a bit and ruffled her hair. "Interesting stuff."
"I love you too." He replied, chuckling lightly as Sorrel got comfortable in his lap. His hand resting on Sorrel's side lightly skimmed over the scars pepper his body. The first time he had seen the scars, he had been so scared to ask how Sorrel had gotten them, not wanting to bring up any bad memories, that he had to excuse himself early from their date, later texting him how sorry he was for bailing and consistently sending small gifts everyday until they could meet again. It hadn't been because he was disgusted or uninterested. It had more to do with his concern for Sorrel's safety and well-being. He eventually did ask about the scars and had promised that no more scars would added as long as they were together.
Sighing softly and shaking himself from his thoughts, Jas nuzzled Sorrel's brow and pressed a kiss to his hair, hugging him close.
Athena laughed and rested her head against Loki's shoulder as she finished up her last assignment. She didn't really understand Loki's essay concept but she did recognize the part of Achilles heel, remembering from her bedtimes stories that he was a great warrior until he was struck down from an arrow to his weekest point, his heel. "What's so bad about technology though, we have computers at school. Those are really fun! We play games on them and stuff."
The scars that had been prominent when they had first met had faded, except for a few that rested along his hips, inner thighs, and wrists. He wore them like battle scars, unafraid to show them, show he was a survivor. He worked through hell to get where he was today and he wouldn't change anything. When they had gone on their first date, Sorrel had been careless and hadn't hidden his scars well enough. He had feared the worse when Jas had dismissed himself from the date. It had broken his heart really. He was scared that he had scared off Jas. However whenever Jas had texted him apologizing, he understood. When they were dating, some of those scars were brand new. He had shared his story to Jas, but instead of being pushed away he was met with open arms that saved him. The promise was kept. Not a single scar had been added since they started dating. Sorrel's mind was drifting when Jas nuzzled into him, a soft smile falling over his lips. He had been clean since they graduated highschool. He pressed a soft kiss to his husband's lips before relaxing again.
Loki laughed quietly, "That's a good question. Sometimes technology can be good and bad. Like when I play for too long on my computer." They chuckle and ruffled her hair before returned to thinking out their essay.
Jas smiled softly at the kiss, humming a soft tune as Sorrel settled against him once again. He liked these quiet moment, where just a single touch or look was enough to say so many words. His thoughts wandered away from when he had seen the scars to a few years later to the day of their wedding, right before the ceremony when they were all getting ready. He had been walking the halls of his parents home, looking for his dad to help with some last minute decorating when he had stumbled into Sorrel's room. He remembered just standing in the doorway, gazing at Sorrel for a few moments before rushing towards him and kissing him hungrily for a few long minutes. He had broken away eventually, muttering how beautiful Sorrel was, then kissing him again in short bursts anywhere he could while he murmured his vows to Sorrel, not caring if it wasn't formal.
Jas lightly traced the wedding band on Sorrel's hand, humming one of their wedding songs as they waited for their kids to finish up their homework. "Mom called earlier." He murmured softly, kissing Sorrel's temple with a small smile. "She says hi and asks how you're doing. She also asked about the apothecary and how its been doing. Told me she'd been growing lavender and wanted your insight on what would grow well with it." He explained with a little laugh. "Any ideas?"
Athena nodded slowly, still not seeing the negative effects but not wanting to bother Loki with more questions, already getting antsy to go out and eat some desert. To keep herself occupied, she cleaned her little area, putting away her crayons and carefully putting her homework in her folder and then her backpack

He listened to his husband hum, nuzzling into his neck and releasing a soft sigh of content and happiness. This is where he felt the happiest, in his husbands arms, at home, and with his kids. Sorrel heard the wedding song that Jas was humming and his mind flashed to that beautiful day… Jas's family had made him feel more loved then his own ever had. Sorrel's parents hadn't even shown to his wedding, which he was relieved about. He had been so anxious that day, preparing for that moment where he and Jas would be married, they would be official. He was so excited, but the anxiety was still there, still gnawing at him. But when Jas had entered his room as he got ready, had kissed him senseless and whispered his wedding vows, Sorrel's anxious mind had eased.
He pressed closer to his husband, his darling Jas, and a sweet sigh left his lips. This… this was perfect to him. He was in a sort of dreamy haze as he listened to Jas speak, his lips pressing slow and soft kisses along Jas's neck as he thought for a moment. "Mm, your mother is wonderful." He murmured quietly between kisses, "I'll have to give her a call this weekend. The apothecary is doing well… I'm the luckiest man alive, and that lavender grows well with oregano and basil…" He murmured sleepily, pressing more kisses along his husbands neck. He sounded so happy as he spoke, his eyes filled with love and adoration as he looked up at Jas, "God you're so perfect." He gave a happy little sigh.
"And you two are so cheesy." Loki snickered, setting their pencil down. "I thought we were getting ice cream, not fondue." They laugh a bit and stretch, putting their things back in their backpack. "Alrighty, Athena, ready to go get some treats?" They pick their little sister up and haul her onto their back.
(It's alright! I'm glad you're back! Hope you and your family are doing well!)
"Really? She'll be glad to hear that. She's been dying to grow more herbs at home for a while now." He replied, a breathy laugh escaping him as Sorrel trailed kisses along his neck. He gently pulled Sorrel onto his lap, holding him gently in place at the waist with one hand, the other hand gently tugged out the hair tie holding Sorrel's hair in a loose ponytail. He combed through his husband's hair with his fingers, detangling any knots until it was silky smooth and free of snags.
"I'm nowhere near perfect my love, but I must be doing something right to have deserved such a beautiful angel like yourself." He murmured softly, glancing up when the kids put their homework back into their backpacks. He chuckled softly "we are getting ice cream. Just waiting a couple of slow pokes." He teased, gently nudging Sorrel up. "We'll have our fondue later." Jas stood and stretched, ruffling his kid's hair.
"Wha- how come daddy and papa get two desserts? What's fondue anyways?" She whined, resting her head against Loki's.
He chuckles a little bit at Jas's words, a soft hum of content leaving his lips. He moved closer and leaned into Jas playing with his hair, melting into the touches. It was rather sweet really, seeing how eagerly he just fell into the touch of the other and melted at physical attention. "Mmm…. I call bullshit." He teased softly and smirked up at the other. "You're perfect just for me." He whispers, nuzzling closer before glancing at his kiddos. A promise was a promise, no matter how comfortable his husband was. And he had promised to get the kids a treat. He laughed a little at Loki's words before slowly getting up and pressing a quick kiss to Jas's cheek. He held his husbands hand as he watched his two beloved kids. How on earth had he gotten so lucky with this beautiful family? He was glad that he had pushed through what had happened to him in high school, if only he could tell his younger self that it was worth it, that everything that had happened was worth it now. He was relieved in a way.
"Fondue is a kind of cheese dip. Which is why I told dad and papa it felt more like we were getting fondue rather than ice cream since they were being so cheesy with each other." Loki laughed a little bit and carried Athena out to the car, humming happily as they did so.
Jas smiled softly as he watched their children walk to the door, eyebrow raising in amusement as the two interacted. He rested his head against Sorrel's shoulder and sighed in content. He couldn't be more happy in life. "What are we going to with them, hm? They're too intuitive for their own good!" He exclaimed, chuckling and kissing Sorrel's cheek, looking up at him with so much love an adoration. He gently caressed Sorrel's hand with his thumb and grinned over his shoulder as he gently pulled him towards the door to the waiting car. "And to think, I would have gone through all the trouble of a homemade dessert for nothing tonight." He mused with a laugh.
Sorrel smiled at the sight of their kids, a small laugh leaving his lips as he pressed a soft kiss to Jas's forehead as he spoke. Sorrel smiled at the kiss to his cheek and shrugged hopelessly. "Indeed they are, my love." He laughs quietly and looks down at Jas with just as much love and adoration. He followed after Jas, laughing again as he settles into the car, "If it makes you feel better, love. I still would have had the desert." Sorrel glances back at Loki and Athena with a small smile on his lips. "Alright you two, where are we off to?" He asks warmly. "Is there a specific Ice cream place you two want to go to?" He took Jas's hand and places a soft kiss to the back of it.
"then I'll surely let you know when one of my spur of the moment baking ideas comes along." He replied happily, settling into the drivers side. Jas had never been the best cook or Baker for that matter but always loved how cakes and pastries looked so easy to make on TV that he figured the worst he could do was not try. If they didn't come out great, it was no biggie, at least he had tried something new.
Athena shook her head, giving her dad a sweet smile "nope! As long as they serve ice cream!" She glanced over at loki and grinned, estatic that they were finally going to get their well deserved treat.
"alright, let's see what we can find then," has said, gently squeezing his husband's hand after the kiss and pulling out of their drive way. "Any idea as to what you'll get?" He asked as they searched around their little town for a good place to settle.
"Imma get the banana split! With all the toppings!" Athena declared, "chicolate, strawberry, and vanilla ice cream with nuts and cherries! Oh and whip cream! A lot of whip cream!"
