Eden noticed the glow. She looked at Jack, just for a moment, to see that he was looking at his hand, too, before turning back to the road. “I feel like we should get a book on soul-mates or something.” She said.

he starts typing on his phone. 'I have one at my house somewhere."
She takes the phone from him so she can hold it up to the windshield. She read it, all the while glancing back and forth to the road and back. She handed it back to him. “Really? I never got one. I guess I didn’t want to learn to much and be looking around for signs, or have any expectations. And I knew that if I had one, I’d definitely read it at some point.”
He sighs. "B-Book shelf I-I think…" He coughs.
“Whenever I’m at your place next, we can take a look at it together. Yeah?” She looked over at him for a moment to get his response.
He nods quickly. "K-Keep your eye on the road…" His voice cracks.
“Right.” She turned back to face the road. Luckily, they were only a few miles out. Within five minutes, she was pulling into a parking space.
He coughs. 'I'm gonna type for the rest of the day…Or for an hour. At least.'
“Yeah, okay,” she replied. “Whatever you want to do.” She squeezed his hand, then got out of the car.
He gets out and stretches.
After all the doors were closed, Eden locked the car and headed toward the restaurant. It wasn’t very busy because they had only opened half an hour before.
Jack follows silently.
The door dings when she opens it. An employee smiles up at the two of them, taking them to a table for two, handing them two menus, and asking about drinks. “Just a water for me, and…” she looked at Jack, waiting to see how he wanted to handle ordering.
'Ice tea'
A few moments later, and they both had drinks in front of them. Left alone by the wait staff, Eden looked over the menu. She debated whether of not to be adventurous or just stick to good stuff and avoid disappointment. She asked Jack if there was anything that looked good to him.
'Hamburger pizza.'
“Swanky. I’ve never tried it here, but I think we should do it. Just the one pizza for the both of us. Is that good for you?”
He nods slightly.
“Cool beans, my dude.” Soon after, the pizza was ordered and there was only one other party in sight. Eden sipped her water. She really didn’t want to do anything but be with Jack today, but she was going to have to go to work in a few hours. They had time, but it was ticking away at every moment. She realized she was staring way to intensely at one random spot on the table, blinking and looking elsewhere.
He laughs slightly
Eden looks at him, breaking into a smile. “What?”
"Y-You keep staring off into space" His voice cracks but was filled with laughter.
“Oh. Yeah,” she smiled. “I know. I do that sometimes…as you can see.” She giggled.
He nods and smiles back.
Their pizza arrives a little while later. Eden smiles as the waiter sets ten pizza pan on the table tray, thanking them. Steam rises from the slices in a thick fog. She pokes a bit of crust to check the temperature. “Ow. Much hot.” She wipes her fingure on a napkin to get the hot grease off.
