"I would agree actually. It's crazy what people don't notice because they're glued to their screens." As if on cue, someone walked past the tree, not noticing the two of them. The person had earbuds in and were staring at the screen.

Ben nodded. “Yeah, next to you I feel like that guy,” he said with a laugh, gesturing slightly with his head to the man with the headphones in. “I guess we all have our weaknesses.” He smiled. “Mine are probably my phone and coffee.”
"That's true. I'm not sure about mine, I don't really think about it." Val said, turning his attention away from the guy and back to Ben. "What matters, is that you are not sucked into your phone right now. I would honestly be disappointed if you were."
“I would be disappointed,” Ben agreed. “It’s rude to be on your phone while you’re talking to someone.” He gave Val a smile, and shrugged. “Anyway, I like talking to you.”
"I'm honored. I quite like talking to you as well." Val leaned his head back against the tree and looked out at the park in front of them. For the first time that day, he wasn't sure what to say.
Ben looked over at Val, trying not to stare before looking away again. “It’s a nice day today,” he said lamely, trying to think of a new conversation topic. He steeled himself, trying not to be terribly awkward. “Also, um, would you maybe like to go out to dinner sometime?”
"I believe that was my line. But I guess I'll take yours instead and say; of course, I'd love to. When works for you?" Val replied with a bright smile. He had thought about asking Ben that, but he wasn't sure if it had been to soon to ask, so he was going to wait. But Ben beat him to it.
Ben grinned, glad that Val hadn’t even questioned it. “Anytime this week,” he responded, thinking. “Except Wednesday, but other than that any day is fine.” This was his last free week before things began to get busy again, as he was used to. It was kind of nice, being to able to do things without getting out a planner.
"What about Thursday then-?" Val asked, almost saying 'love' at the end out of what could have been described as habit. He couldn't remember the last time he had been on a date. It had been a terribly long time and he forgot how enjoyable they were, even to just set up. It brought a sense of excitement that he didn't feel very often, but brought back many memories.
“Thursday’s great,” Ben agreed with a grin. “It’s a date!” The butterflies decided to flutter around inside of him again. It had been a while since he’d been on a date, both due to business and the fact that this was his first date after breaking up with Lina. It had been months, and Ben was definitely ready to go on another date, especially with someone he got along with so well.
(And here we are, back on another season of "Imaegine is a bad roleplay partner"! Yeah, so I've been really inactive, as you can tell, but I'm having trouble writing and being motivated to write or roleplay. So I am 'officially' taking a break now. I have no idea how long it will last, but it'll definitely be a bit. I'm totally okay, just very unmotivated to write or rp. Sorry about this.)
(okay, it’s all good)
(Heyy~ So I'm kinda back, I'll just be a bit slow to reply at times. Sorry about the lengthy break! And, uh, would it be totally terrible or weird to totally change my character? I never really liked this one and stuff. If it messes things up, we could easily start another rp if that works better)
(it’s fine! you’re all good, i’ve been a bit mia lately too!)
