"Maintenance is always looking for workers," He replied, "Same with the piping."
"Maintenance is always looking for workers," He replied, "Same with the piping."
Jemma nodded, thinking for a moment and nodding again to herself, "Alright, are either of those jobs dangerous for new workers?"
"Depends on what part you're working on. But not usually, no. The more experienced workers do that harder stuff, the new ones just fix small holes or mishaps in the mechanics."
"Where do you work?" She asked next, just out of curiosity.
"Mechanics. Sometimes I get to head to the upper levels to work on mechanics there."
She nodded and looked up to the ceiling, imagining what it was like up on he upper levels.
"I… I could try and get you two up there, if you want? even if it's just for a little while…"
A smile broke onto her face and she looked back at him, "You could do that?"
He shrugged, "Like I said, I sometimes work up there. If anyone asks I can just say you're new workers that I'm training, no biggy."
"I'll have to ask Jax, but I'm sure he'll agree." She looked up towards the ceiling again and her smile grew.
He nodded slightly and smiled a little himself, "All right then, wonderful."
Jemma sighed and rolled her shoulders, "Well, I'm going to go kick my brother off the bed so I can go get some sleep." She stood up and glanced at Alex before heading back towards the back room.
Alex watched her go, mumbling a 'goodnight' as he settled back on the couch.
When she got to the back room she glanced at her brother, sighing when she decided to just let him have the bed. She found the blanket and pillow and laid down on the floor, falling asleep surprisingly quick for being in a new place with people she didn't know if she could trust.
Alex fell asleep soon enough. His couch was slightly uncomfortable but he didn't mind.
(Time skip?)
(To when?)
(Next day? Or two days after they get there? either one works for me)
(Uh… maybe two days would be better)
Jemma sighed and stretched as she looked up at the collapsed floor of the city that the maintenance crew - and her - were supposed to fix. Only her second day on the job and they already had a project that she had no clue how to handle. Jax wasn’t even around for her to talk to, he had gotten a job in piping much to his dismay.
